Angelo breaks up with Charlie. Nicole keeps self-destructing. Ruby and Xavier are busted in Martha’s bed.
Extended Summary
Nicole arrives at the party and finds Indigo. When Indigo says she’s sorry to hear about Belle, Nicole snaps that she doesn’t want to hear it. Tonight she’s there to party and is determined to forget about everything bad in her life. Later, the police arrive at the party and as Geoff and Indigo attempt to take a very drunk Nicole home, she yells that she doesn’t want to go home before vomiting on the police officer’s shoes.
With the police having brought Nicole home, Geoff talks to Miles about what Nicole is going through. Miles then talks to Geoff about how he’s coping with the news that Belle is dying. Geoff says that he’s still a little numb to the news, but he needs to think about Irene and Annie. The next morning, Miles tries to talk to Nicole about what she’s going through but she insists she’s managing.
With news of Belle’s illness sweeping the Bay, Ruby tells Xavier that thinking about what Belle and Aden are going through has made her realise how much she loves him. The next day, both Ruby and Xavier skip school and spend the day at the farmhouse. Ruby leads Xavier into the bedroom and tells him that she loves him and is now ready to make love to him.
Martha takes Morag and Ross for a tour through the farmhouse when they walk in on Xavier and Ruby in bed together. Shocked, an enraged Ross berates Xavier and tells him that Ruby is just a child and he’s going to rot in prison before Hugo manages to drag him from the room.
Having cooled off, Ross apologises to Martha and Hugo about his behaviour. Ruby and Xavier then appear and apologise for what happened but Ruby insists it wasn’t Xavier’s fault. She asked him to steal the spare set of keys.
Charlie is angered to hear about Ruby and Xavier. Charlie doesn’t understand what made Ruby change her mind after what happened on her birthday, but Ruby says she loves Xavier. When Ruby asks Charlie to trust her, she replies that after what has happened, she doesn’t know if that is possible.
At the Diner, Charlie bumps into Morag and Ross. Morag tells Charlie about how Ross lost it when he found Xavier and Ruby together and how he mentioned Xavier going to prison for what he’d done. Morag says she doesn’t know what triggered such an outburst from Ross, but Charlie seems to know otherwise.
Nicole goes to the hospital and asks to see a doctor. She tells a nurse that she thinks she needs to be on some medication – she doesn’t want to feel anxious and upset anymore. When Sid comes in to speak with Nicole, she refuses to see him and rushes out of the room.
Charlie still hasn’t heard from Angelo and begins to realise that things between them are over for good. At the Diner, she bumps into Angelo and the pair talk. Angelo admits that he didn’t want to hurt Charlie but he was hurt and didn’t want to talk to her. They arrange to meet at Charlie’s later to talk things through. At Charlie’s, Angelo arrives and apologises for not speaking to her for the past couple of days. He tells Charlie that he can’t believe she didn’t trust him enough to tell him about her relationship with Joey. Charlie says it was a mistake and asks Angelo for a bit more time. Angelo says he loves Charlie but doesn’t think she feels the same before putting an end to their relationship.
