Extended Summary

Diesel is still hiding under Sally’s bed, as Sally sorts through the washing. She drops something and reaches down to grab it, narrowly avoiding seeing Diesel…

Helen is on Leah’s back about her choice of wedding dress – she can’t believe she’s agreed to wear that! Leah’s tries to argue her point but it’s not easy with Helen. Helen thinks it’s a good thing she’s here, she doesn’t want Leah making any more decisions like this. Helen’s not pleased – there’s no mention of anything Greek in the wedding – but before she gets a chance to say anything more, there’s a knock at the door. Dan opens the door his mother, Noelene, who’s dressed in a new-age, hippy outfit. Helen looks this strange woman up and down.

Sally comes down the stairs and into the kitchen. Diesel sees this as his chance to escape. He races down the stairs and runs from the house. Diesel is gone. Meanwhile, Carl Summons, the no-nonsense Department of Education investigator, has returned for a final round of talks with Diesel. Hyde praises Sally and makes it clear how hard this has been on her and the school, but Diesel tells Summons that yesterday Miss Fletcher threatened him. Diesel has spun more lies about Sally. Summons asks if there’s anything else he thinks they should know? When pressed, he “reluctantly” reveals that there is something else. He didn’t want to say anything because it was so special to them… but now he realises that he has to be honest. Hyde and Summons visit Sally at home. Summons demands to see her locket. Inside it, there’s a photo of Diesel. Shocked, Sally defends her innocence, but Summons’ mind is made up. Sally is sacked and given the circumstances (Diesel is sixteen) he will be referring this matter to the police. Sally’s crushed.

Noelene is filling in Dan and Leah about her new ‘life change’. She’s into yoga and meditation – all the new age stuff. Dan wonders what Dad thinks of it but Noelene changes the subject and starts chatting to Helen – who’s still slightly wary. As Noelene rabbits on, we see Helen slowly being won over by this weird woman. Dan nudges Leah – see, told you not to worry! Then talk turns to the wedding and Helen is outraged by Noelene’s suggestions. The women start to bicker. Leah shoots a look at Dan – you were saying…

Sally tells her side of the story to the police, but they are not convinced. When Constable Fitzgerald is on her way out, she tells Sally they will be investigating her claims about Diesel thoroughly – but Flynn and Sally both know that Diesel has got them stitched up. Hyde finds Diesel and tells him he’s not going to let him get away with this. Diesel is smug and reckons Hyde can’t touch him but there’s something in Hyde’s tone which leaves Diesel’s seriously rattled……

The mums start bickering again and Dan takes the opportunity to leave, joining a weary Leah at Diner – they’re nightmares. Both of them! Leah’s fears have materialised – this is exactly what she didn’t want. They’re going to ruin their special day. What are they going to do?!

Sally goes upstairs to check on Pippa and is stunned to find Diesel standing there, Pippa in his arms. Sally’s shocked and fearful – Please give me my daughter! But Diesel is hard and cold – no – it’s just going to be you, me and Pippa or I’ll hurt her…
