Ziggy’s baby fears keep the doctor away. Are Marilyn’s friends walking into a trap?
Extended Summary
Ziggy and Dean walk along the beach. Dean says he thought they were both looking forward to getting their first look at the baby and it was going to be the point they could tell people. Ziggy admits she’s scared. At the Morgan house, Leah has got a message from Roo asking to come to the Diner to sort things out with Marilyn. Justin thinks that’s a good thing and admits he told Roo and John they’d argued but says he never told them about Heather. Leah replies that they’re going to want to know why they argued and Marilyn will thinks she’s betrayed her again. She declines Justin’s offer to go with her.
At the Diner, Alf, Irene and Roo have sat Marilyn down. Marilyn hopes it’s not an intervention and isn’t impressed when Alf and Roo say they want her and Leah to clear the air. Leah turns up and Irene asks Marilyn to stay. Leah agrees she’d like to clear the air. Roo asks what happened and Leah says it was just a misunderstanding. Marilyn gets a text from Heather asking to meet her and hurries out. Irene calls it a waste of time and Alf checks if Leah knows anything. Marilyn finds Heather by the beach and is pleased to see her again. Heather says she’s sorry she took off without saying anything, saying she needed to clear her head after the row with Leah. Marilyn hugs her.
Leah complains to Justin about how Marilyn just took off. She complains that it’s not her fault that things didn’t work out between Marilyn and Heather. Justin suggests seeing it from Marilyn’s point of view: Leah wouldn’t be happy if someone got in the way with her making up with VJ, just like he wouldn’t with Ava, plus Marilyn’s carrying shame around.
Marilyn asks Heather if they can move forward and Heather says she’s looking forward to seeing what happens next. Marilyn asks if she did have anything to do with what happened at Leah’s. Heather nods, saying she was upset by what Leah said and lashed out. Marilyn is certain everyone will forgive her if she apologises to Leah and then she can stay. Heather doesn’t look too happy at the comment and asks if she can think about it, walking away.
On the balcony at Salt, Dean asks Ziggy to talk to him. Ziggy says she heard that the scan will tell them if there’s something wrong with the baby and worries that there is something. Dean says they’d deal with it and it’s best to talk to the doctors and learn about it as soon as possible. Ziggy says she just got worried reading about it. Dean thinks it will be fine and asks if he can rebook the scan.
Heather goes back to where Marilyn’s sitting and asks if her friends will accept her. She says she’ll apologise and stick around on one condition: She wants to make a big gesture to show them she’s not a bad person. She offers to show Marilyn what she means.
Marilyn and Heather drive up to a large mansion-like building. Heather explains it’s going to be a function centre with accomodation when the renovations are done and says she’s been staying there because she knows the owners. She says it used to be her boarding school, Crestview Ladies’ College, and she spent most of her childhood there. She says she was homesick but her mother wanted “me time” so she got used to not seeing her parents. She says she’s going to throw a brunch for Marilyn’s friends there. Marilyn seems stunned at first but then says it’ll show them how sorry Heather is.
Alf and Roo turn up at the surf club. Alf is disappointed that they didn’t get anywhere with Marilyn, saying she used to listen to him. Roo suggests that at least it means Alf can go and see Martha. They then both get texts from Marilyn, as does Irene at the Diner and Leah at home with Justin: Elaborate invitations to brunch at Crestview Function Centre tomorrow.
Heather shows Marilyn around Crestview. Marilyn worries about if Heather’s allowed to hold a brunch there. Heather reiterates that she knows the owners. Marilyn gets a call from Leah but Heather takes the phone off her and says no phones allowed, then smiles and says that she just doesn’t want Marilyn giving anything away to spoil the surprise.
Ziggy tells Dean that the office was closed so she’ll ring first thing in the morning. She says it took four weeks to get an appointment last time and worries the delay might harm the baby. Dean asks why she didn’t tell him she was worried and Ziggy says she didn’t want to spoil his mood. Dean says he doesn’t just want to be there for the good stuff.
Leah tells Justin she hasn’t got hold of Marilyn. Justin encourages her to go to the brunch. Leah says Marilyn was cold to her before. Justin thinks wanting to make things up to her sounds very like Marilyn. Leah asks him to come with her. Justin says he wasn’t on the invitation and has things to do. Leah suggests he just doesn’t want to go. Justin suggests he’d get in the way.
Heather is setting the table and tells Marilyn they can relax and talk afterwards. Marilyn tries to help and Heather corrects her, saying she had to set the table for guests. Marilyn says she could have a good career in hospitality if being a lawyer doesn’t work out. She wonders if there’s a caterer and Heather promises she’ll handle it. She confirms that everyone has RSVPed. Marilyn asks for her phone back. Heather looks out the window and asks if that’s someone there already. Marilyn goes to the window to look and Heather hits her over the head with a candlestick, knocking her out.
Next morning, Alf, Irene, Roo and Leah all arrive in the same vehicle. Roo says she’s underdressed and Leah wonders how Marilyn found it. Alf notes they seem to have the run of the place and Irene suggests maybe no-one else booked in. Leah tries to phone Marilyn but just gets voicemail again. Alf thinks they’re in for something special.
In an upstairs room, Marilyn comes round and finds Heather tying her to a chair. Heather turns on a monitor with CCTV images throughout the house. Marilyn says they can work this out. Heather says some things can’t be undone. They see Alf, Irene, Roo and Leah arriving. Marilyn asks what Heather’s going to do and Heather says she’s just going to say hello. Marilyn asks her not to hurt them but Heather just gags her and walks out.
