Extended Summary
Matilda is all over Diesel at school, but he’s not into it at all. When the bullies come for him this time he fights back. Sally breaks it up and takes him into a room to talk. If there’s something wrong, he should open up to her. He says it’s fine. They organize a tutoring session at Sally’s house. Matilda goes to Ric and Cassie, wanting to know why the bullies think Diesel’s gay. She’s confused. She’s looking for him, but Cassie discovers him first – all beaten up. Who did it? Flynn comes down and Diesel opens up to Sally. Some bullies thrashed him because they think he’s gay. Sally wants to call the tutoring session off, but he won’t hear of it. Ric reveals the kids think he’s gay because of his girly tattoo. Diesel says it’s in honour of his mum. Matilda’s all over him. Diesel’s finally tells her it’s not going to work out between them. Matilda is devastated.
Colleen’s in a flap about being kicked out of her house by Macklin Corp. Leah invites her to stay with her and Dan, much to Dan’s chagrin. When she moves in, she brings almost a ton of stuff. Dan is boggle-eyed.
Kim’s having a hard time selling apartments. When he hears about Colleen’s plight he goes to her with a solution. She thinks he’s trying to swindle her, but he convinces her otherwise and pretty soon they’re jumping on a charter plane to look at similar display apartments in Townsville. They meet up with Lance at the apartments. Colleen’s so impressed that she signs up. Leah and Dan are surprised it was so quick. Colleen refuses to be put off by a couple of party-poopers. But at least she can stay with them until it’s built… in 12 months time! Dan – what?!
Diesel is studying at Sally’s house when he gives away that Cassie was at the beach the other night. Sally’s angry. Henry finds Matilda crying over Diesel. He comforts her. Sally rakes Cassie and Ric over the coals for lying to her. Their punishment is to spend tomorrow doing the housework – she wants the place spotless. Ric’s upset with Cassie. Sally tells Flynn what happened and he hopes it won’t be an ongoing problem. Does Sally think Diesel’s gay? She doesn’t… It must be hard to cope with the bullying, but at least he’s got a good family to support him… But Diesel’s living in a derelict house – contrary to what he’s told everyone. He doesn’t have a family at all! And in his exercise book he’s drawn a picture of Sally with a love heart. Diesel’s in love with Sally!
