Extended Summary

Bella and Nikau are sat outside the Diner. Colby comes down from the flat on his way to work and tells Bella that he’ll be working all night. Bella and Nikau discuss his break-up with Taylor. Meanwhile, Tori has gone home to Leah, Justin and Grace and tells them about Christian suggesting an appointment to sleep together. Justin isn’t comfortable with the conversation and ends up taking Grace out of the room. Tori discusses it with Leah, admitting she isn’t entirely against the idea but wonders if it’s normal when they’ve barely kissed.

At the Diner, Irene gets Jasmine a drink. Jasmine wonders if she’s overreacting. She notes she can see how Christian would be good for Tori, it’s just the fact that Robbo was meant to be the one looking after Grace. Irene suggests she talks to her counsellor about it. Jasmine says she’ll just keep her head down. At the police station, Taylor brings Angelo his gym bag, saying he left it behind. Colby turns up; Taylor greets him politely but otherwise ignores him as she tells Angelo she’ll be finished at six. Murray briefly talks to Colby about a break-in he’s investigating. Angelo quietly asks Murray about Colby and his history with the River Boys. Murray says Colby’s loyal and a good cop. Angelo looks suspiciously at Colby as he leaves.

Colby follows Taylor to outside the surf club and insists on helping her with her things. Taylor wonders if Angelo’s suspicious but Colby thinks he’d have confronted him if he was. Their hands touch as they reach for her bag but they’re interrupted by Jasmine and Taylor goes inside. Meanwhile, Bella and Nikau arrive back at the Parata house. Bella is still complaining about Colby getting involved with Taylor but Nikau is more sympathetic, saying you can’t help who you fall for. They cuddle on the couch.

Tori finds Jasmine at the surf club and starts to talk to her about Christian. Jasmine tries to avoid the conversation, saying she has work to do in the gym, but Tori tells her about Christian wanting to sleep together, babbling about how long it’s been for her and what it would mean for him. Jasmine says she can’t do this and walks out. Tori follows and apologises. Jasmine explains about seeing Tori and Christian with Grace and how they looked like a family: She knows it’s not like that but it feels like Robbo will be replaced one day.

In his office, Angelo looks through the file on Ross and another one on Colby’s River Boy affiliation. He phones a detective inspector asking to access Colby’s phone records, but can’t offer any reason other than Colby being the last one to see Ross and trying to interfere with the investigation. The inspector refuses without concrete evidence. Angelo looks at Colby through the office window. At the surf club, Bella and Nikau are playing pool with him trying to put her off. They are uncomfortable when Angelo appears. He approaches Taylor, who has just finished work, and suggests they have dinner together upstairs. Bella and Nikau quietly comment on the fact Taylor seems to be moving on.

Back at the Morgan house, Tori updates Leah and Justin, noting she didn’t think about how Jasmine would feel. Justin thinks it’s none of Jasmine’s business who Tori dates, and reminds her he warned her the donor baby would be a problem. Tori notes she thought she’d be having the conversation with Robbo, not Jasmine. Leah suggests Jasmine just needs reassuring that Robbo is still Grace’s dad. At Salt, Angelo watches Taylor polish off a glass of wine. He sends her to get another round, saying he needs to check a work e-mail. Instead, he looks at her phone (accessing it with the passcode) but finds no call record. When Taylor comes back, he says something’s come up at work and he’ll see her at home.

At the police station, Murray tells Colby that Angelo was asking questions about him and suspects that Angelo doesn’t like him. Angelo arrives and goes to his office. He rings someone claiming to be Colby and to be investigating Taylor being stalked, asking for her phone records for evidence. Colby goes to the surf club and runs into Taylor. She isn’t keen on them ending their affair and thinks they should go to the motel still, but Colby insists Angelo was getting suspicious and putting pressure on people close to him. After Taylor has gone, Bella approaches Colby wondering about the long conversation but he says he has to get food for the station. Bella rejoins Nikau and says it’s still on.

Next morning, Jasmine is going for a run on the beach and finds Tori and Grace waiting for her. Jasmine says she was surprised at how upset she was about Christian. Tori says the two of them will make sure Grace knows Robbo was her dad. Jasmine asks about Christian and Tori admits she finds it exciting but says she won’t talk to Jasmine about it anymore. Jasmine is grateful. At the Parata house, Bella finishes getting dressed as Nikau prepares breakfast. He encourages her to talk to Colby, even if she doesn’t trust him. He gets a call from Gemma and Bella makes herself scarce.

At the station, Angelo takes a printout and goes into his office. Looking at the phone record, he starts highlighting a frequently appearing number. Bella turns up with breakfast for Colby and they arrange to meet when he’s finished work. Angelo calls the number and Colby answers; he hangs up without saying anything. Bella goes back to Nikau and tells him about seeing Colby. Nikau tells her Gemma’s staying in New Zealand; her mother’s getting old and needs her there. She’s asked Nikau to join her…
