Extended Summary

Justin and Tori walk along the beach with Grace, wondering what to do with their time together. Justin suggests a walk or a swim but Tori is feeling guilty about taking him away from Leah. She offers to help him with his assessment task but Justin suggests she goes and does yoga and they meet up later. At the Shaw farm, Irene and Colby approach Jasmine while Ian and Wendy hang back. Jasmine tells them to go away, saying they both sided with Tori against her and she ignored their messages because she wanted space. She says she’s staying because she isn’t judged there. Irene suggests Jasmine show her around but Jasmine still wants them to go and walks away. Irene and Colby rejoin the Shaws and Ian suggests the pair tell them what’s going on.

Roo and Marilyn are both at the Stewart house. Marilyn chats to Roo about Amber and how forceful she can be. Roo suggests Marilyn can work out what she wants to do now she’s not caring for John full-time. Marilyn says they’ve already made a decision, but whilst she felt trapped being John’s carer, now she doesn’t know what to do. At the Palmer house, John calls Amber saying his rehab session has been cancelled but she refuses to come in on her day off and hangs up.

Roo notes that it seemed like John and Marilyn were reconnecting before the stroke. Marilyn says that things got worse and they were both unhappy. She asks about Ryder; Roo notes he is keeping busy at TAFE and will deal with what’s happened in his own time. Roo goes round to see John, who is doing his grip exercises. He explains it’s Amber’s day off but says he’s got his phone if he needs Marilyn’s help with anything. Roo discusses Marilyn’s visit and John asks about Evan and Ryder. Roo goes to get some tea and biscuits.

Irene and Colby have told Ian and Wendy about the AVO and the mental health plan that Tori tried to set up for Jasmine. They feel she’s just running away from the problem and Ian and Wendy are forced to agree. Jasmine reappears and is annoyed the AVO is out in the open, accusing Irene and Colby of trying to turn Ian and Wendy against her and telling them to mind their own business. Ian and Wendy follow her to a storage area. Jasmine thinks no-one wants her in Summer Bay but Ian and Wendy say she can’t be at the farm while the AVO’s in place, since then they couldn’t see Grace. They tell her she needs to fight in order to see Grace again.

John tells Roo about forcing Marilyn to admit she doesn’t love him. He says he feels small and worthless and Roo gives him a hug. He says he’d move out if he could. Roo wonders if it’s really helping still living with Marilyn, before leaving him alone. At the Diner, Marilyn tells Justin and Tori that with Amber looking after John she’ll be free to help out with Grace more, especially since Jasmine isn’t around. Justin gets a call from Colby but says it’s Leah and goes outside to take it. Tori thanks Marilyn for the offer but says they’ll manage.

Colby finishes the phone call. Nearby, Ian and Wendy are helping Jasmine put her stuff in the car. Jasmine isn’t sure she wants to go back but the Shaws insist they have faith in her. She gets in the car with Irene and Colby. Ian and Wendy wave as they drive off. At the Diner, Justin is evasive with Tori and quickly leaves when she talks to Marilyn about Irene talking with Jasmine. Roo arrives and tells Marilyn she went to see John, mentioning that Amber wasn’t there. Marilyn is shocked that John’s on his own all day. Roo offers to go back and check but Marilyn insists she go.

John has got himself a sandwich, but as he walks back towards the sofa, his stick slips on the edge of a rug and he falls. Marilyn tries calling but his phone is still on the table out of reach. When she arrives home, she wants to call an ambulance but John convinces her to just help him to his feet and to sit down. He realises Roo told her he was alone. Marilyn says he should have told her but John replies that it’s hard when she’s avoiding him and they can’t go on like this.

Justin and Tori are outside the Diner. Justin tells her about Colby’s call and that Jasmine’s on the way back. Tori is delighted, saying they can get her into counselling and then seeing Grace again. Justin says Colby has an idea: He’s not sold on it but it’s Jasmine’s choice. As Irene, Jasmine and Colby drive back into town, Jasmine gets Irene to pull over in front of the “Welcome to Summer Bay” sign and gets out, taking deep breaths. She’s not sure she can do this but Colby promises he’ll prove she can trust him. She walks a little way from them, looking out to sea.

Tori and Justin are waiting at the Diner; Tori is glad Justin is there, even though he isn’t sure about what they’re doing. Irene and Colby bring Jasmine in. On seeing Tori, she says she can’t be there but Colby stops her leaving. Tori says Grace is with Leah and she wants to talk. Meanwhile, John and Marilyn are sat in silence: They both have meals in front of them but neither is eating. John stops Marilyn clearing away, saying he’s grateful she looked after him but she needs to move out. He walks towards the bedrooms, leaving her alone.
