Extended Summary

Jasmine is running through a park area and encounters Irene and Leah. Irene hopes Jasmine isn’t overdoing it and Jasmine says she barely made it up from the beach. Irene notes that Jasmine’s barely eaten since the funeral and suggests she sees a doctor. Jasmine decides to go to the gym first. Justin appears, having apparently just been for a surf, and awkwardly asks how Leah’s night was. After a few uncomfortable exchanges, Justin says he’d better head home and Leah takes that as a cue to walk off. Irene looks apologetic before following. At the Diner, Ben and Maggie wonder what to do with the leftover food from the party with Ben suggesting they just invite Dean over. He gets a text from Marco saying he’s nearly there. Maggie is somewhat sceptical about Marco being forgiven. Marco arrives a few seconds later and Maggie goes to get the coffees, explaining to Irene who Marco is. Irene suspects Ben and Marco must have got into trouble together when they were younger.

Justin fills Tori in on his encounter with Leah. He worries that he’s part of the problem and Leah’s better off with Irene. Tori suggests that Leah getting out and about is a good thing and he just needs to follow her lead. Justin thinks he let her down by not being there when he needed her. Tori says she and Justin are both still grieving about Mason and Justin realises he held on too tight to Leah. Outside the Diner, Leah tells Irene she said harsh and terrible things to Justin. Irene starts off saying it wasn’t that bad but seems to change her mind when Leah explains she told him he was like Douglas, explaining he’s always hovering. She knows that’s different from Douglas but she’s not sure what she wants. Irene tells her that Justin never gave up on her.

Marco suggests they go to Salt. Maggie says she has a staff meeting and Ben needs to check on the board shop. Marco asks to come with him and have a look at it. Maggie offers to come too but is told to go to her meeting and join them at Salt later. Maggie warns Ben not to drink too much on his medication. Marco reflects that twenty years ago no-one could have predicted they’d be so respectable. Soon after, he and Ben are at the surf club. Ben shows Marco some of his designs. Marco asks him about what Ziggy said about them having trouble last year. Ben is vague, saying the board shop was closed down and he moved out to a caravan for a while. Marco is surprised.

Jasmine is half-heartedly punching a bag at the gym. She sees a staffmember helping a pregnant client and checks an app on her phone: It says she’s 47 days late. Meanwhile, Leah has joined Tori at the Morgan house and is helping her with Grace. She asks after Justin, saying she knows he’s not like Douglas. Jasmine arrives looking to talk to Tori. Leah offers to go to her room but Jasmine changes her mind and asks to take Grace out instead. Tori happily agrees. After they’ve gone, Tori suggests to Leah that it’s good that she got it all out. Leah wonders how she can fix things with Justin.

Ben and Marco arrive at Salt and Marco insists on going to the bar for beers first. He asks Ben about Maggie, noting that despite having a lot of relationship he’s never found someone like that. Ben says he got lucky and it’s been over twenty years now. Marco asks if he’s ever strayed in that time. Ben says neither of them have. Meanwhile, Justin meets Leah outside the Diner and she thanks him for coming. Justin apologises for making her feel uncomfortable but Leah says it’s her that’s the problem and asks if they can talk. Justin sits down next to her.

Jasmine is sitting with Grace in the park. Maggie comes along and says she remembers when her two were that age, adding that it’s the teenage years you really have to worry about. When Jasmine asks her though, she agrees that it’s worth it and she wouldn’t change a thing. Back at Salt, Marco reminds Ben of a brickie that used to give them a hard time for being the boss’ sons, saying he fired him as soon as he took over. He says the business has been expanding for three years and they’re ready to move overseas, and that he feels bad that Ben isn’t running it with him. He offers Ben a chance to get involved in the overseas move, investing as much as he can and getting a return. Ben is intrigued but says he’ll have to run it by Maggie. As they talk, Maggie watches them from the doorway, looking uncomfortable.

Leah says she know she hurt Justin by comparing him to Douglas, saying he’s caring and wonderful. Justin knows he was full-on. Leah says it was what she needed at first but she’s stronger now. Justin suggests he was overcompensating for not being there when she needed him. Leah says it wasn’t his fault and confirms she doesn’t want to end things. They nudge each other affectionately. Meanwhile, Maggie has joined Ben and Marco. Ben explains Marco’s proposal but Maggie refuses pointblank. Marco goes to get more drinks and Ben expresses surprise that Maggie won’t even consider it, adding they’ve still got the money from the pier sale. Marco comes back and Maggie wants Ben to go somewhere private with her so they can discuss it. Ben wants to stay with Marco and says he’ll see Maggie at home.

Leah and Justin arrive back at the Morgan house, with Leah pleased Justin held the door open for her. Tori is asleep on the couch and wakes with a start; she is pleased that they’ve sorted things out. Jasmine brings Grace back. Tori asks if she still needs to talk. Jasmine says Grace sorted it out. Soon after, Jasmine is giving up on a meal at the Diner. Irene notes that she still isn’t eating properly and Jasmine says she’s got no appetite. Irene again suggests she sees a doctor but Jasmine says she knows what it is: She’s pregnant.

Maggie finds a drunken Ben being brought home by Marco. She makes it clear Marco isn’t staying the night, despite Ben saying they have room. She takes Ben into the bedroom and lays him down, with him drunkenly admitting that he’s missed Marco. Maggie goes back to Marco, who wants her to get on board with investing. He makes it clear that if she doesn’t, he’ll tell Ben they slept together.
