Extended Summary
Jasmine and Tori are walking back from work, dreaming of a glass of wine, a bath and a foot massage. Tori mentions Jasmine has work drinks later. Jasmine suggests Tori come along but Tori wants to get back to Grace, noting she’s almost rolling over. Leah and Justin promptly appear with Grace, saying they’re taking her out for a walk. Jasmine is going to go to the Diner for a coffee. Leah tries to suggest they all go but Justin thinks they should go home so she agrees. At the Diner flat, Colby leaves a message for Chelsea saying he got the divorce papers and asking to talk. Mackenzie turns up with food and offers to get his medication after she’s dished up.
At the Diner, Jasmine asks Irene for another coffee, explaining she needs to stay awake for the work drinks. Irene notes it’s the first time she’s been out since Robbo died, but instantly regrets it. Jasmine feels guilty that she didn’t even think about him. Irene tries to reassure her he’d want her to move on. Jasmine decides to get a peppermint tea instead and Irene offers her a lasagne to line her stomach. At the Morgan house, Tori wonders how Grace creates so much washing and Justin points out she had six outfit changes yesterday. Tori asks about Leah and Justin says she worked herself up over the party so he wants to take things slow. Leah appears as Justin hands Grace over to Tori and says he’s going to the garage. Leah decides to go to the Diner and see Irene. She seems somewhat put out when Justin says he’ll take her.
Colby and Mackenzie are eating on the balcony. Colby notes Salt’s chips are the best and Mackenzie jokes that she’ll tell Irene he said that. Colby asks if he’s dreaming the fact that she was at the hospital a lot and Mackenzie confirms that she was. She seems about to say something but then Colby gets a call back from Chelsea. Mackenzie goes inside the flat while he answers it and finds the divorce papers, noticing that Chelsea has signed but Colby hasn’t. She goes back out when the call ends but Colby doesn’t tell her anything and Jasmine arrives before they can talk further. Mackenzie leaves and Jasmine notes it’s the first time she’s been back since she moved out. Colby invites her to stick around.
Leah and Justin arrive at the Diner where Leah is warmly greeted by Irene. Leah wants to work on the books and Irene says Leah does a better job of them. Justin is reluctant to leave but eventually says he’ll pick her up in a few hours after work. Up in the flat, Jasmine moves some of Dean’s things. Colby tells her to put them in Dean’s room, then seems to remember that was her and Robbo’s room and tells her to leave them where they are. He reflects on how much has happened since he got out and says the divorce papers reminded him what a loser he is. Jasmine tells him about not thinking about Robbo and how she came there to feel close to him. She doesn’t think she can go to the drinks. Colby tells her Robbo would want her to live her life.
Jasmine goes to the surf club but pauses on the stairs up to Salt. She seems about to turn and walk away but Freya and some other colleagues arrive. Jasmine notes she know they organised the drinks to cheer her up and goes upstairs with them. At the gym, Willow doesn’t seem happy when Mackenzie turns up. Mackenzie tells her she didn’t tell Colby how she felt and also saw the divorce papers. She says Colby didn’t tell her about them and didn’t sign them. Willow suggests he’d need time to find a witness and everything but Mackenzie is convinced she needs to get over Colby.
Up in Salt, Freya is telling a story about a patient losing his gown but Jasmine doesn’t seem into it and slips away. Mackenzie greets Ari at the bar and asks if he wants his usual, noting that he comes in every day, has one beer and leaves. Jasmine comes over to get a drink and doesn’t seem too happy when Mackenzie says she’ll bring it to her table. At the Diner, Leah is getting the books in order when Justin arrives to pick her up. Leah wants to stay on and Irene offers to drive her home but Justin is insistent that Leah has to come with him. Leah has flashbacks to Douglas ordering her around and gives in. Justin orders a takeaway.
Colby is struggling to carry a plate on crutches. Willow arrives and helps him. She finds the divorce papers and asks why he didn’t tell them about them. After saying he’s been getting his head around it, Colby signs them and tells Willow to witness and post them, before noting he stuffed his marriage up like everything else. Willow tells him about Mack’s problem and advises him to talk to her. At Salt, Mackenzie is flirting with Ari and notes she remembers him getting people out of the hospital; Ari recalls her looking after Bella. She tries to find out what his job is. Jasmine is sat with her friends but isn’t part of the conversation and makes a quick exit, just leaving when Mackenzie offers to call a cab or Willow. Mackenzie ignores a call from Colby and gives Ari a scotch on the house.
Justin and Leah arrive home arguing. Justin says he didn’t want Leah to overreach herself. Leah says she wanted an evening to herself and he’s trying to control her. Tori appears, protesting that Grace is asleep. In a quieter voice, Leah says Justin is controlling her and is just like Douglas. She goes out. At the Diner, Jasmine turns up to see Irene and says she felt ill. Before they can talk much, Leah arrives and asks if she can stay at Irene’s.
Justin is worried that Leah isn’t answering. Tori suggests it’s good that she went out on her own. Justin is about to go and look for her when Irene calls with an update. He explains to Tori and wonders how doing the right thing turned out to be the wrong thing and how Leah could accuse him of that.
