Extended Summary

Marilyn is meditating at home. John is searching behind her, initially quietly, but eventually interrupts her to ask if she’s seen his pineapple shirt. He is surprised she’s meditating since Raffy isn’t around anymore. Marilyn says she’s planning to keep it up and Raffy is as well, although she’s disappointed they can’t do it together. John suggests they could do it together online. Marilyn tells him the shirt’s on the back of the door and John suggests they both go out. They head to the Diner where Leah is surprised to see them, since Marilyn’s not working. They ask Leah about Ryder starting the HSC and how it’s a shame he and Raffy aren’t doing it together. John comments that he’ll miss Raffy’s study notes. Leah says Justin’s bringing Ava back and asks Marilyn to cover her shifts. Marilyn says she has nothing else to do.

At the farm house, Ziggy and Dean discuss Maggie’s outburst earlier and Ben’s behaviour yesterday. Ziggy wants to track Ben down and explain but Dean thinks that would just humiliate him more. As they’re discussing it, Ben enters behind them. They sit him down with a coffee and apologise for what he saw but Ben says he owes them an apology for yesterday. They tell him the free lessons were partly about drumming up business. Ben says Maggie’s right: They shouldn’t waste energy on him. Ziggy is worried about what Maggie said but Ben says it’s his problem.

Scott takes Colby to Robbo’s evidence room at the motel and explains why it was set up. They both worry about Robbo’s whereabouts. At that moment, Robbo is lying on the floor in his cell area and ends up drinking moisture off the wall to keep his strength up. He hears someone unlock a gate further down the corridor and then his cage, shining a light in his face so he can’t see who it is. Robbo’s chain is long enough for him to go out into the corridor where he sees Dylan with two henchmen. Robbo lunges at him but he’s just out of reach. Dylan notes he heard Robbo was looking for him.

At the Diner, Marilyn is on the phone to Raffy, saying she hopes she’s eating well (before remembering she’s with Brody) and asking her to text Ryder good luck. She tells Leah and John that Raffy actually sounds relieved not to be doing the HSC. Justin arrives with Ava, who gives Leah a hug and then goes to talk to John and Marilyn. Justin says he’ll fill Leah in in a bit. Later, as the Palmers continue to keep Ava entertained, Justin tells Leah that the divorce has turned toxic and Nina and Brian are only communicating through lawyers. No-one’s sure how long Ava will be there for and Ava thinks it’s just a visit; Justin is going to explain once she’s settled. John and Marilyn offer Ava some of Raffy’s make-up and posters, before Marilyn gets back to work and Justin and Leah join them. Ava is disappointed she didn’t get to say goodbye to Raffy or Brody.

At the school, Maggie is on the phone to an irate parent, saying their child needs a note from someone official. Ziggy arrives and asks what she said to Ben. Maggie says she told him to help himself. Ziggy reminds her what the counsellor said: It’s an illness. Maggie says nothing else was working. Ziggy hopes Maggie hasn’t made things worse, although Maggie can’t see how they could be. Ziggy heads home and tells Dean Maggie’s close to breaking point. Dean thinks what she said might have done good, since sometimes people need straight talking, but Ziggy thinks Ben’s too fragile. Dean is confident they’ll find the right thing to do.

Colby and Scott are looking through Robbo’s papers without success. Scott asks what Robbo said to Colby. Colby relates his plan to get out of the country with Jasmine and have Tori join them later, then recalls what he said about having to say one last farewell. Scott notices the evidence box with details on Robbo’s family’s murders and calls Lance, saying to get someone to check the cemetery. Colby looks at the photos and says he can’t imagine finding your family like that. Back at the cage, Dylan says he enjoyed being dead but Robbo has stirred up too much trouble. He wonders whether Robbo’s working for the feds or the opposition. Robbo asks where he is. Dylan says all that matters if there’s only one exit and he has to get through all of them to get to it. Robbo says the feds don’t have any plans but Dylan says everything that happens Robbo has brought on himself.

Ava tries to show an avatar she’s making on her phone to Marilyn but Marilyn is busy and sends her away. She tries to show it to Leah and Justin; Justin is a bit more interested but tells her to let them have a grown up talk. Ava is upset, saying no-one wants to spend time with her, and Justin comforts her. John and Marilyn head home; Marilyn hopes they didn’t make things worse with Ava. She reflects they should be helping Raffy with her HSC and instead they’re alone in the house. John points out they have each other and is confident they’ll be okay.

Scott reports the result of Lance’s search to Colby: They found Robbo’s car at the cemetery, with fresh flowers on the grave and blood in the grass. Neither of them are confident of finding him. Scott decides to get back to the safe house and keep Jasmine calm. Meanwhile, Dylan places a bottle of water just out of Robbo’s reach and asks for information. Robbo says all the feds know is that Sean Coulson was working for him. He confirms that Sean was picked up by the opposition, didn’t live long after they found him and had the snake tattoo left on him. Dylan guesses Robbo is working for Victor and says it seems he’s just like him. Robbo angrily denies it. Dylan prepares to set the thugs on him but Robbo goads him, saying Kat told him he was a coward who only hit women. Dylan angrily knocks him down.

Leah and Justin try to reassure Ava, who is worried she’ll have to move house, change schools and make new friends. Justin says sometimes adults need space to sort things out. Ben, who is sat nearby, overhears this and leaves. Leah says she went through a divorce a couple of years ago and was sad and angry but is happy now with Justin. At Salt, John turns up to get a bottle of discount bubbly for Marilyn and runs into Ben, asking if he wants to talk. Ben says he’s a useless father and useless husband and just keeps hurting his family. John says it’s always darkest before the dawn and he shouldn’t give up.

Dylan reminds Robbo he left Kat in a car to die. Robbo tells him Kat broke him out of custody and was going to run away with him. Dylan doesn’t think Kat would compromise herself like that but Robbo says she thought he was worth it. Dylan lunges at him again but this time Robbo gets him in a hold. He tells the thugs to back off, before telling Dylan that everything that happens he’s brought on himself.
