Extended Summary

Colby follows Chelsea onto the beach and admits things didn’t go as expected with Bella but is convinced he can get through to her. Chelsea thinks she needs professional help but Colby says that since she’s sixteen they can’t hold her and thinks she’d be straight off back to Ross. Chelsea points out Ross isn’t at the house but Colby won’t risk it or tell Chelsea where Bella is. Chelsea says she can’t ignore it; Colby tells her to do what she has to. Back at the hideout, Willow gives Bella some beans Dean cooked which neither of them find appetising. Willow reminds Dean he once poured a tin straight onto the campfire. Bella recalls the incident and Willow’s Triumph. Colby returns and says they can go for a drive in it some time but Bella clams up and asks Willow to take her to the bathroom. Colby tells Dean that Chelsea might call the police and wants him and Willow to go.

Marilyn serves Robbo and Jasmine at the Diner and asks if they’ve seen a juice bar receipt that John has lost at the gym. As they exit, they bump into Tori, who notes she hasn’t seen Robbo for a while. They exchange polite enquiries about how the other is before Robbo quickly leaves, Jasmine apologetically following. At the gym, despite being on her way to a hair appointment, she asks Robbo why he’s barely been near Tori in a week. He says he’s giving her space but Jasmine doesn’t think she needs any and wonders why Robbo hasn’t told her his views on the IVF. Robbo suggests Tori might not want to take it further.

Tori and Robbo chat outside the surf club and Robbo apologises for being off the radar. Tori acknowledges the miscarriage probably brought up some painful memories for him but Robbo thinks it’s best they move on. Before they can talk further, Tori has to take a call. Meanwhile, Willow and Bella rejoin the others. Like Dean, Willow refuses to leave. Colby asks Bella if she remembers him having a fight with Ross just before they left. He says it was the first time he realised he was big enough to fight back and Ross couldn’t control him anymore. Bella says Ross said they had to leave and she didn’t want to go but he said Colby would hurt them if they didn’t. She thinks Colby turning up with Dean and Jay proves Ross was right.

Chelsea is sat alone on the beach. She looks at her phone and McCarthy’s number but doesn’t dial. Meanwhile, Dean suggests to Colby that he plays Bella his copy of the recording of Ross and Michelle. Colby is reluctant but eventually plays the first part, telling Bella that Ross was the one making threats. Dean gets him to play the rest and she hears Ross threatening to kill Colby and saying he killed his father. Tearfully, Bella says they wouldn’t have had to go away if Colby hadn’t caused trouble, beating his chest. Willow steps in and hugs her.

Jasmine goes to see Robbo at the gym and has to prompt him to notice her hair. He tells her he spoke to Tori but admits they were interrupted and he didn’t get to tell her he wants to stop the IVF. At that moment, at the Diner, Irene and Leah are listening with a certain amount of doubt to Tori, who has taken Robbo’s reference to moving on as confirmation he wants to try again. She’s going to call the specialist to arrange an appointment.

Colby asks Bella what happened before Michelle left. Bella says Michelle was unhappy but then slips back into saying she didn’t love them enough to stay, although she realises Colby thinks Ross did something to her. She says Ross never hurt her like he did Colby. Colby says he never gave up on her and joined the police to look for her. (Dean chimes in that he didn’t believe it either but it’s true.) Colby offers to prove it. He takes her to his flat, with Dean and Willow waiting outside, and shows her his file of clippings and Missing posters. He also shows her the messages he posted online. Bella hugs him. Dean and Willow join them on the balcony for more hugs. Chelsea sees them from the wharf and Dean sends Colby to talk to her. Chelsea says she’s not going to arrest him and is happy for him but he lied to her. Despite Colby saying she’s making a mistake, she insists he take the ring back and walks away.

At the Diner, Irene asks Jasmine how she feels about Tori and Robbo doing the IVF and Jasmine says she didn’t know they were. Tori comes in and Jasmine asks if Robbo actually said he wanted to continue with the IVF; she suggests Tori talk to him again but refuses to say more. That evening, Tori is waiting for Robbo outside the Diner flat. She tells him the fertility specialist said they can implant the other embryo next week. Robbo initially suggests it’s too soon before admitting losing the first child hurt more than he expected and he couldn’t handle it again. Tori suggests they wait a bit longer but Robbo says he doesn’t want to go ahead and walks away.
