Belieiving that Tank now hates her, Evelyn takes out her upset on Leah, accusing her of wanting her and Tank to break up. Leah defends herself, telling Evelyn she just wants what’s right for her.

It’s not long until Evie runs into Tank at the diner. She’s concerned that he has a black eye, but he plays it down, and escapes before she can question him further. On her way home, she’s surprised to see Tank having an argument with Principal Snelgrove. She hurries over after Snelgrove leaves, and Tank reveals that Snelgrove is his father.

The pair find a private spot on the pier, and Tank opens up. He reveals that after his mother died, Snelgrove essentially disowned him and started acting violently. He admits that Snelgrove was the cause of the black eye, and begs Evelyn not to tell the police.

Evelyn takes pity on him and is drawn back under his spell. She takes him back to her place, and asks him to forget everything she said last night, telling him she wasn’t thinking straight.

They begin to get steamy on the couch, but Leah and VJ arrive home and interrupt them, leaving Tank to make an embarrassing exit.

Leah confronts Evelyn, who reveals that Snelgrove has been hitting Tank.

Leah confronts Snelgrove about the situation, and he reveals that the story’s a little bit different – it was Tank who bashed him when he was 15, not the other way round. When Leah reveals that Evelyn is dating Tank, Snelgrove advises her to do everything in her power to keep him away from her. Meanwhile, Tank shows Evelyn that he’s cleaned up his room for her, and tells her that he doesn’t want to mess with her life. She leads him to his bed, falling further under his spell.

Kat invites Ricky to join her, Nate and her friend for lunch. Wanting to prove that things won’t be awkward after her and Kat’s conversation the previous night, Ricky has no choice but to say yes. Kyle thinks it’s going to be hard for them to pretend that nothing has happened between Ricky and Nate, and Ricky agrees, dreading the afternoon ahead.

At the diner, Ricky meets Kat’s friend, Pete, who’s delighted to see Kat so content. However, Ricky finds it hard, struggling to watch Nate and Kat be affectionate with each other. At the end of the lunch, Pete tells Ricky to make sure nothing comes between Nate and Kat, clearly warning her to stay clear.

Ricky gets a call from Kyle, telling her something’s wrong with Casey. Ricky, Nate and Kat all go to Ricky’s, where Nate examines Casey and gives him the all clear. Ricky’s relieved, but she’s even more pained to see how natural Nate is with Casey, knowing she can’t be with him.

Ricky tells Kyle that the lunch was painful, and Kyle thinks it’s because she still has a thing for Nate, but she denies it. But when she gets a text from Nate, texting back gives her a little rush.

Phoebe feels like she’s ready to live her life again now that the memoriail is over. She suggests to Ash that they make a six month plan to find their own place – starting with him moving in, and he agrees.

Phoebe asks Kat and Hannah, and they accept, so long as he follows the house’s ground rules.

When Chris finds Ash moving in, he warns him it’s not going to be easy as he thinks. However, Ash cockily points out that if he can survive gaol, he’ll be able to handle some chicks. However, straight away he’s shot down when he’s told to take his surfboard outside, and the girls favour a girly afternoon over his plans for a housewarming. After watching a movie, Ash claims he’s open-minded, but is proven wrong when he refuses to be given a manicure. He moves to the fridge to find his beers have been taken out, and wonders what on earth he has gotten himself into!
