Extended Summary

Justin and Leah are sat at the garage. He notes he’ll tell Mason and then ring Brody and Raffy. He recalls how the doctors told them to prepare for the worst: He thought Tori would fight but now wonders if she doesn’t have any fight left. Meanwhile, Ryder finds Alf sat on the patio and announces it’s too early to invite Jade to the party. Alf replies that it’s cancelled. Roo appears: She’s rung round everyone and also rung Martha, who says she’s just behind in the packing. Alf is surprised that’s all, since she sounded worried and stressed, and notes he offered to help her but declines to call her himself. Ryder heads out for staff drinks despite Roo pointing out he has a double shift tomorrow. Roo suggests getting some food but Alf decides on an early night.

Next morning, Alex runs into Willow, who has just gone for a swim on the beach; Willow notes the water’s cold and Alex indicates it’s good for you. She asks about Bella; Willow says she’s better but still keeping Colby on a tight leash. Alex asks if Willow can spend the day with her. Willow is meant to be working but agrees to ask Robbo about time off. When Robbo gets the call near the Diner, he says there’s no chance: Jasmine’s working so there’s no-one to look after Grace. Leah has been chatting to Justin nearby and goes over to Robbo who asks about him. Leah says he spoke to the family but could do with a distraction. Robbo asks Justin if he can babysit Grace so he can relieve Willow. Justin suspects it’s out of pity but says he’ll be there in five minutes. Marilyn brings a cup of tea out for Alf and asks him about Martha. Alf says he hasn’t heard from her today.

Ryder and Jade arrive back at the caravan park. Ryder thanks Jade for the night and Jade comments on his dancing. Alf passes them and reminds Ryder he should be at work. Jade decides she’s going to crash. Ryder looks as though he’s wondering if he should kiss her but ends up just saying good night. Up at the house, Alf complains to Roo that Martha isn’t answering his calls but Roo thinks she’s probably on the road. Ryder comes in, having just got back from Yabbie Creek, and Roo wonders when he’s going to sleep; he says that’s what caffeine’s for. Martha suddenly comes in; Roo wonders when she set off and whether she’s slept but she just says there’s boxes in the car. Alf worries that she seems stressed.

Willow gives instructions to a client at the gym before saying goodbye to her and heading over to where Alex is. Alex makes a joke about getting Willow’s attention. They express disappointment that Willow wasn’t able to get the day off and wonder about doing something after work. At the flat, Robbo gives Justin instructions about giving Grace her bottle, burping her and being careful about her throwing up. Justin says he’s got it and Robbo says goodbye. Justin goes to the fridge and notices a photo of Robbo, Jasmine and Grace on it. He wonders where the photo of Tori is.

Martha is unpacking and comments to Roo that she’s worried she’s brought all the wrong things. Alf appears and notes they don’t need more kitchen stuff but Martha says it’s nearly new. John and Marilyn appear and John comments on how Alf thought Martha wasn’t going to turn up, annoying everyone. Since they have food left over from the cancelled dinner, the pair end up being invited to stay. At the gym, Alex is about to say goodbye to Willow when Robbo appears, explaining Grace is with Justin and Willow can have the day off. Willow goes to get changed and Alex says she’ll meet her upstairs, thanking a bemused Robbo. He goes over to where Leah is working out and asks about Justin. Leah is giving him space but worries Grace might be a reminder of Tori.

Justin is rocking Grace and speculating that she isn’t napping because she’s overtired. Leah appears in the doorway behind him as he starts singing “All Through the Night”; she smiles and slips away without him seeing her. Justin recalls how his mother used to sing that to him and Tori, telling Grace that Tori loved her and wanted to be with her and he’ll make sure she doesn’t forget her. At Salt, Jade turns up for work; Ryder comments on how good she looks compared to him and she offers to cover for him if he wants to take a nap in the storeroom. Nearby, Willow and Alex comment on how things slotted into place for them. Alex suggests they go for a walk, admitting she’s never been up to the lighthouse.

Alf, Roo, Martha, John and Marilyn are having lunch but neither Alf nor Martha has eaten much. John takes the last piece of quiche and Alf comments on there being a lot left, which upsets Martha. Marilyn tries to leave and Martha goes into the kitchen to put the kettle on. Alf follows and Martha expresses upset that he thought she’d leave him and Roo again. When Roo also joins them, Martha rushes out. Alf finds her sat crying in the caravan park. She admits she had so many decisions to make while packing and let herself get worked up, and probably could have used some help. Alf notes they can’t forget the past but he’ll help her. He comforts her and says he’ll text Roo to let her know where they are.

That evening, Leah and Justin are at the Diner. Justin talks about keeping Tori in Grace’s life and says there’s something he has to do. Nearby, at the door, John, Marilyn and Roo watch Alf and Martha sat at a table; Marilyn thinks they look happy but Roo isn’t as sure. She joins her parents as Alf says he’ll have the steak and Martha good-naturedly tries to convince him to have something new. Up in the flat, Justin gives Robbo a framed photo of Tori with Grace that he’s printed off from her phone. Robbo says he’ll put it next to her crib and agrees that they have to make sure Grace knows her.

Ryder gives Willow change from $10 and needs Jade to point out it was $20. Willow and Alex comment on how long they’ve spent there and how they’ll have to do their walk another time. Alex offers to walk Willow home. First however, they head to the wharf where Willow suggests they can still have their swim. Alex thinks she means in their underwear but Willow says she means skinny dipping. Alex is a bit taken aback, but when Willow starts undressing, she follows suit.

Ryder joins Jade in the storeroom and invites her for a drink but she says she’s wrecked. He thanks her for looking out for him and she points out he got her the job. Ryder wonders if that’s the only reason she’s being nice to him. He kisses her and asks if that’s okay. They kiss again but then hear another worker clearing up so go back to work. Meanwhile, Willow and Alex arrive back at the beach house. Willow finds a note saying Irene and Colby have taken Bella to the cinema, meaning they have the place to themselves. They kiss; Willow says she’s sure if Alex is and Alex says Willow knows how she feels. They go to the bedroom.
