Maggie and Roo walk through a park area with Maggie complaining about the amount of time it’s taking for Ben to get a slot with the magistrate. They run into John and Marilyn, and Maggie repeats the comments before getting a call from Ben’s lawyer. Maggie goes to the police station with a suit for Ben. Ben says the decision will be made on the facts, not on how he looks. Maggie says the facts say he’s innocent and Ben says not on paper. Maggie tells him his lawyer’s confident.
Bella arrives home whilst on the phone to Colby and runs into Willow, saying Colby’s told her not to come to the flat since Robbo and Jasmine are there. Willow reveals she’s got Jasmine’s room. Irene comes in while they’re talking and Willow asks about the downstairs bed sheet. Irene says she washed it and it’s on the line. Once Willow’s out of earshot, she tells Bella about cleaning the blood stain and that she’s checked the room. Willow wonders what they’re talking about.
Later, Irene is out the back, ringing the hospital to ask about Tommy. Bella interrupts, taking the phone off her, and says the conversation will be suspicious. Irene worries what will happen if Tommy wakes up or how she’ll live with herself if he doesn’t. Willow again wonders what they’re talking about and says she doesn’t feel guilty about taking the room.
At the Diner, Marilyn is still working after her shift ended while John and Raffy wait. Alf and Roo turn up and Raffy asks them about Ryder. Roo explains he had to work late and Raffy notes he didn’t reply to her text. Maggie comes in and tells them Ben got bail; he’s at home with Ziggy and she’s come to get dinner. John suggests bringing Ben down there but Maggie says he wants an early night in his own bed.
At Salt, Ryder receives another large tip from the ladies. He offers to buy their next round but Samantha says they’re heading on to Yabbie Creek and invites him to come with them. She asks if he has a girlfriend and Ryder doesn’t answer, just saying he has to work late. Samantha gives him her number on a napkin and says to call her. Ryder smiles as they leave.
Maggie arrives back at the farm house. Ben tells her he encouraged Ziggy to go out with Dean because he couldn’t stand the false positivity. He says there’s a good chance he’ll be found guilty, plus they’ve lost his income and his defence will cost a lot of money. Maggie tries to cut him off but Ben says they need to have the conversation. Maggie asks to enjoy having him home for a bit.
Bella helps Willow move the last of her things into her new room. Willow wonders if something’s up with Irene. Bella suggests she’s just worried about Jasmine and worries Colby might be in danger living with her and Robbo. She asks how Willow coped with being shot. Irene listens at the door as Willow recalls how she tried to ignore it for a long time until it caught up with her.
Next morning, Raffy finds Ryder doing warm-ups by the beach and is bewildered that he’s going for a jog. She apologises for snapping at him yesterday. Ryder says he understands she’s worried about Tori. Raffy suggests hanging out and Ryder says he needs to study. Raffy suggests doing their magazine project together but he just makes vague comments about other stuff. He gives her a brief kiss goodbye which leaves her looking teary.
Ben is on the phone to Coco, telling her he wouldn’t have got bail if they didn’t think he was innocent and he’ll be all right. Maggie notes he almost sounded like he believed it. Ben says he’s decided he’s not going to wallow but to prove his innocence. Maggie isn’t sure he should interfere with the investigation but Ben wants to go over the board shop for clues. They go to the surf club where Ben sees the closure notice for the first time. John joins them as Ben begins taking out the paperwork to look through.
Willow greets Irene and confirms Bella spent the night in her room, since she didn’t want to be alone. He stands looking out to sea and Maggie joins him, placing a hand on his back. Ben says he shouldn’t have trusted the factory people. Maggie points out she was the one that suggested outsourcing but Ben says he was the one that met with them. He thinks that, even if he’s found not guilty, his reputation’s gone. Maggie reminds him that he convinced her not to give up when she was sick with chemo.
At the Diner, Irene thanks Marilyn for agreeing to cover for her. Near the surf club, Ryder encounters Roo as he gets a text from Raffy asking to call her. He tells Roo that his life seems different now he’s working at Salt. Roo wonders if he still considers Raffy a part of it. Roo understands that he’s doing new things now but agrees that it’s not fair to leave Raffy hanging.

Irene tries to be evasive about where she’s going before saying she’s going to the hospital. Bella protests they’ll be suspicious of anyone that shows interest in Tommy.
