Extended Summary

Brody is running around Salt, giving instructions to staff, chatting to customers, chopping, taking orders and wiping down tables. Ziggy looks on worried, especially when he bumps into a waiter and breaks a load of dishes. She says he isn’t sleeping, since he spends every night at the hospital with Raffy, but Brody says he can’t drop the ball at Salt. Meanwhile, Chelsea storms back into the flat, followed by Colby. Chelsea is furious that Colby left the scene of an accident and his friends. Colby says he couldn’t lose Bella and Chelsea retorts that he lost her anyway. She quickly regrets it but thinks everything comes second to his quest, while he has got away with a crime and let a friend go to jail. Colby says he told her because he wanted to move forward but Chelsea says they’re back where they started: Him having a secret and her expected to keep it for him.

At the Diner, Marilyn finishes a phone call from Justin and tells Irene the hospital are doing final tests before taking Raffy off sedation. Maggie comes in with special consideration forms for Raffy that she needs Marilyn to sign. She asks how Raffy is and Irene and Marilyn ask how Maggie is, with Irene noting they both know how hard it is to get back in the swing of things after cancer. Maggie heads home where Ben notes he was worried she was trapped under a pile of paperwork. He admits he missed her but thinks she’s glad to be back, so tells her to put her feet up since dinner’s sorted.

Brody is taking another booking over the phone and Ziggy has to step in when he accidentally pours a double shot. She tries to get him to take a break, at which point he bumps into a waitress and causes another breakage. Ziggy insists on driving him home, saying she’ll close up. He goes to tell the kitchen staff. Back at the farm house, Ben is serving up dinner and comments about using a lot of chilli. He doesn’t seem bothered at the lack of response from Maggie until he turns round and sees she’s asleep on the sofa. She wakes up a bit as he carries her to the bedroom.

Willow sees Chelsea coming back from the caravan park and realises from her demeanour that Colby spoke to her. Chelsea is more resigned than surprised that Willow knew what had gone on. Willow tries to plead Colby’s case but Chelsea says she can’t trust him and will always think he’s keeping secrets. At Salt, Leah chats to Ziggy about needing to find a subject for her blog, while Ziggy explains about closing up for Brody. She gets a phone call and tells Leah that Coastal Breaks want to do a feature on Brody, realising he cancelled the first one because of the problems with Maggie.

Maggie gets up and finds Ben is now asleep on the sofa, while her dinner is on the table on a covered plate. She sits down, looking disappointed. Meanwhile, Willow turns up at the flat and tells Colby that Chelsea was furious. She thinks she’ll calm down but Colby is less certain. Willow says if he loves her he should fight for her.

Next morning, Ziggy finds Brody outside the surf club making an early start at Salt. He gets an update from Tori saying Raffy should come round that afternoon. Ziggy asks him about Coastal Breaks and he says it was bad timing. Ziggy explains they called wanting to reschedule. At the Diner, Ben and Maggie are having breakfast; Ben thinks she should get going but she says she can manage another minute and apologises for the previous night, promising they’ll eat dinner together tonight. Marilyn gives her the forms back and she leaves. Irene comments that she’s cutting it fine.

Colby and Chelsea meet up near the Diner. She says she didn’t get any sleep because of his constant apology texts. She also says she’s not angry but scared that there’ll be another secret. Colby insists he loves her but Chelsea says she can’t trust that. At Salt, Brody gets off the phone and tells Ziggy the TV people wanted to do the segment that afternoon, when Raffy’s meant to be coming round. He is disappointed but insists family comes first, and says they said they’d keep him in mind for the future.

Irene and Marilyn make suggestions for Leah’s site; Irene suggests movie trivia, which Leah doesn’t find in-keeping, and Marilyn suggests hair and make-up tips. Ziggy comes in and explains about Brody missing the segment again, saying she wishes things would work out for him. Leah has an idea. Ziggy brings Brody to the caravan park house on the pretense of doing plumbing, to find Leah has it decked out like a studio. She wants Brody to do a cooking segment for the vlog. Brody is uncertain but Ziggy says Tori will call if there’s any news and they point out they have the ingredients for Raffy’s favourite meal.

Chelsea finds Colby outside her caravan. He says he’s going to prove she can trust him but Chelsea is tired of making compromises for him. Colby produces the ring, reminding her she told him to give it to her when it meant something. He gives it to her, saying it’s up to her. At school, Maggie is walking slowly towards her office. The bell rings and the corridor empties of children. Maggie goes into the office, where there is still a large pile of files. The phone rings but she simply looks at it without answering it.

Brody is set up and Leah asks him to talk about the dish and how he started cooking. Brody says it’s cauliflower pizza and he learned it fifteen years ago from his mum; she used to drag him into the kitchen every Sunday to help cook for the family. He says Raffy came to them late and he taught her Kate’s old recipes. He falters and asks to stop but Ziggy tells him to keep going. He starts talking about Raffy being in hospital and how they hope she’ll be all right, but then tells Leah to stop and rushes out. Ziggy goes after him.
