VJ learns the full extent of Billie’s deception, just as she goes into labour. One of the Morgans is left clinging to life. As the festival continues, the arsonist prepares to strike again.
Extended Summary
Billie reveals the full extent of her deceptions to VJ – she’s lied to Ash, she changed the computer records at the hospital and she made Nate promise not to say anything…VJ is shocked and attempts to leave, but as he does, Billie begins to cramp and it becomes apparent –the baby is coming. As they head to the hospital, the car break down. Billie is distressed at the lack of cell reception. They come to a realisation Billie may well be having her baby on the side of the road. VJ assures her that a search party will be on their way and she thanks him for always looking on the bright side. He tells her that they can get through anything if they stick together.
Phoebe questions Brody about where Justin has headed. A stressed-out Evelyn interrupts however, and asks her where she has been. Phoebe tells her that she isn’t ready to go onstage, but Evelyn is irate – the next act is running later than she is. Matt assures Evelyn that he can sort it out and not to worry. Everyone is surprised when Matt jumps onstage to cover for Phoebe. Finally Phoebe takes the stages and delivers a brilliant pop song – secretly disappointed that Justin missed it.
Elsewhere, John approaches Marilyn’s Summer Grooves Tarot card reading stall. John and Alf are worried that Marilyn’s stall will be a disaster, but it later turns out to be a massive hit.
In the crowd, Olivia is approached by both Hunter and Mason and realises she’s in a pickle. Hunter later spies Mason and Olivia making out on the dance floor.
Justin sneaks into the Warehouse and moves around, attempting to avoid Ranae’s men. Tori yells for help, Ranae punches her, which prompts Justin to come to her rescue, but he’s grabbed by Ranae’s men. He is beaten until he offers to withdraw his statemen against Ranae. But it’s too late in her eyes. The damage is done – she just wants him and his family to suffer. Distraught at threat of his family being put in jeopardy Justin manages to fight off the henchmen. But as he and Tori try to escape, Ranae emerges and stabs him in the gut.
Mick stands outside the Beach House, his presence unknown to Irene.
Kat learns from the fire investigators that the same accelerant has been used in all the fires and she comes to the realisation that there’s a serial arsonist in Summer Bay.
As the majority of the town celebrates the end of the year at Summer Grooves…
The serial arsonist lights another fire in the nearby National Park…
