Extended Summary

Part 1

Alone near a remote river, Heath frantically calls for Bianca. The remnants of a beautiful picnic are nearby, but apart from that, nothing.

24 hours earlier…

Heath and Bianca arrive at a Northern Territory airport, happy and excited about being back together. But as they drive off, a mysterious car slowly follows at a distance.

Deeply in love, Heath and Bianca enjoy the wonders of the vast Australian outback. Their passion ignites when they get to their romantic B&B. Unbenownst to them, the mystery car has tracked them here too. When Heath moves off to get more drinks, Bianca is surprised by an unexpected visitor – their joy-flight pilot!

Shaking off a small bout of sickness, Bianca joins Heath on the spectacular helicopter ride, ending with a picnic at a secluded riverbank. Heath gives Bianca back her ‘Blood and Sand’ bracelet from when they married. She’s deeply touched, and promises to never take it off again.

Meanwhile back in Summer Bay, Darcy’s behaviour has Irene complexed. She’s worried that if Heath does one more stupid thing, Bianca will leave him. Irene assures her she has nothing to worry about.

When their pilot is late to return, Heath heads off to find some reception to give him a call. He can’t get through but sees the helicopter approaching, and returns to the riverbank. But when he gets back the chopper is already taking off – and Bianca is gone. There’s a note left on the picnic basket. ‘You’re not going to have anymore fun with my family’. Heath remembers that this was the last thing he said to Gunno before he let him drop to his death.

Back at the helicopter pad, Bianca lays unconscious in the boot of a car. Chuckling to himself, Gunno shuts the boot, gets in the car, and speeds away.

Part 2

Desperate to find Bianca, Heath gets help, leading to a police investigation at the riverbank where she was last seen.

They notice a large amount of blood and tape off the area. When questioned by Detective Sergeant Amy Peters, Heath reveals that he thinks Gunno has taken Bianca to get revenge on him – for trying to kill him. Amy takes Heath into the police station for questioning.

Heath explains that he fought Gunno and let him fall off a cliff. He wants to get back out and look for Bianca, but Amy explains he’s got another problem now. He’s just confessed to assault with intent to kill. Heath argues self-defence, but Amy decides to hold him while she goes off to take a call. When Amy returns she tells Heath that she found out he previously told another detective that Gunno ran off after the fight, forcing him to admit that he lied. He’s telling Amy the truth now because it’s the reason Gunno kidnapped Bianca. But Amy’s doubts, coupled with the fact the joy-flight pilot is conveniently out of town makes her think Heath’s creating reasonable suspicion – and he did something to Bianca. Heath reels.

Ash and Nate arrive to support Heath. Nate organises a lawyer for the morning, and Heath is finally released. Back at the B&B, Heath blames Ash for bringing Gunno into their lives. The next day Amy arrives to take Heath to the crime scene – the blood they found matches Bianca’s. Amy tells Heath to take her through what happened step-by-step.

Ash and Nate search the chopper pad, and find her ‘Blood and Sand’ bracelet. But when they take it to Amy, she’s not convinced it proves anything. Ash and Nate decide they need to find the pilot if they’re going to be any chance of helping. Back at the river, Heath explains his version of events. But Amy plays devil’s advocate, proposing that there was no pilot, and he just drove out here and killed his wife. Amy asks Heath to take her through it one more time, and he runs. The police give chase and crash tackle him to the ground – and Amy doesn’t think running is the act of an innocent man.

Meanwhile, Gunno has Bianca tied up as he reveals his plan. He has faked her death and is framing Heath. Bianca’s bravado begins to fall away, fearing for her life and that she’ll never see her husband again. Later as she fights against her restraints, Gunno returns and tells her Ash is in town. Bianca believes Heath will come for her, but Gunno reveals he’s already in lock up – and there are more suprises to come. What does he have planned?

News of Bianca’s disappearance reaches Summer Bay, shell-shocking Irene and Darcy. Darcy tells Irene she thinks it’s all Heath’s fault. But the seriousness of the situation hits Darcy, and when she finds Irene crying on the patio, she reveals that when her Dad gets back she’s going to tell him she’s sorry. Irene pulls her into a supportive hug.

Part 3

As Heath’s meeting with his lawyer begins, Detective Sergeant Amy Peters interrupts and reveals that he has recently taken out a life insurance policy in Bianca’s name.

It’s news to Heath, but it’s motive for Amy, and he reels as she formally arrests him for the suspected murder of his wife. Heath’s lawyer points out that Amy has no body and no evidence, but she still can’t believe that Gunno is somehow orchestrating everything. They’re interrupted by news that the missing pilot has been found. Amy discovers that a man matching Gunno’s description attacked the pilot and took his car. She releases Heath and will track the car’s GPS.

Meanwhile, Ash gets a text from Gunno with an address and a threat to meet up – no cops or Bianca dies. He and Nate drive to meet Gunno and pull up at a Ghost Town. Ash finds Bianca tied up and gagged inside one of the buildings and slips inside. Gunno appears and pulls a gun out. When Ash refuses to sit, Gunno fires a shot at Bianca, missing on purpose, and unbeknownst to him, almost hits Nate on the other side of the wall. Ash gets down and puts the hand ties on.

Nate sneaks in as Gunno is deciding who to shoot first and crash tackles him to the ground. Gunno quickly gets the upper hand as the fight moves outside, but gets an unexpected kick to the head from Bianca and is put out for the count.

Heath and the police arrive and Bianca races into his arms. Gunno is bundled into the police car.

Safely back in Sydney, Heath heads out to grab them some food. Bianca moves to her handbag and pulls out a pregnancy test.

As Gunno is led into prison, someone catches his eye – Kyle Braxton. He flashes a sinister grin. What’s he got in store now?
