Gina prepares for her job interview. Hugo and John Palmer clash over their plans. Nicole is unexpectedly charmed by Liam.
Extended Summary
After Martha’s announcement that she’s planning to run against John Palmer in the council elections, Hugo tries to talk her out of it, but Martha is adamant that she wants to stand up to John. Morag tries to make Martha aware of the responsibilities involved in running for council, but Martha insists that she’ll run no matter what.
Although Colleen supports Martha’s election campaign, Hugo tries to talk her out of it once again and insists that he’s got a skeleton in his closet that could not only cost her the election but also humiliate her. However, Martha insists that she has a past too and besides, the Palmer family isn’t exactly squeaky clean.
Gina has an interview at the high school for a new teaching position; however, she is nervous that she’s going to make a mess of things. After Martin continuously pushes the interview back, Gina finally gets in to see him but talks herself down the whole time. When Martin queries her as to why, Gina says she’s just being honest as children’s futures are at stake. Later, thinking the interview went horribly and that she’s blown things, Gina is shocked when Martin offers her a position at the school – as the new acting principal while he’s on leave.
Nicole talks to Liam and he reveals that Aden recently had words with him about her. Later, Nicole talks to Aden and insists that even if getting involved with Liam is a mistake, it’s her mistake to make.
