Miles is picking up the slack from Kirsty being at Uni. Nicole and Indigo continue fighting. Aden sinks to a new low after Belle’s death.
Extended Summary
Following Gibbsy’s arrest over the illegal abalone venture, Irene is unsure how to break the news to an already devastated Aden that he’s lost his job. Eventually, Irene is forced to bite the bullet and breaks the news to Aden that the police have impounded the trawler and he’s now out of work. She then gives Aden a letter Belle wrote for him if he wasn’t coping. Reading the letter urging him to let those who love him help him, Aden breaks down in tears.
Later when Irene checks on Aden after he failed to show for lunch, she’s surprised to find him with a woman. Aden tells Irene he’s just following Belle’s wishes and is moving on as it is apparently so easy to do. Irene tries to tell Aden that he is hurting, but Aden slams the door in her face.
At the Diner, Nicole confronts Indigo and accuses her of trying to hit on Aden. Despite Indigo claiming that’s not what was happening, Nicole refuses to believe her. Sid comes to his daughter’s defence and tells Nicole that Indigo wouldn’t have been taking advantage of Aden. Later, Sid is talking to Miles about Nicole and he’s worried that Nicole needs to look after herself instead of worrying so much about Aden. Miles agrees and talks to Nicole about what she’s going through. He urges her to look after herself, but Nicole replies that Belle asked her to look after Aden and if she doesn’t, who will?
Later, Nicole admits to Indigo that she feels as though she’s failed Belle by not being there for Aden. Indigo tells Nicole that Aden knows she’s there for him and he just needs some more time. When he’s ready to open up to her he will.
Jealous of Annie and Dexter’s friendship, Jai tells Annie he wants her back, but she’s not sure if he’s doing it because he wants to be with her or if he’s just jealous. Jai’s silence gives Annie the answers she needs and she insists that she and Dexter are only friends, but Jai presents her with a photograph Dexter printed of her as proof otherwise. Annie shows Dexter the photo and asks why he printed it and he reveals that he made her a photo album of the last photos Belle took. Later, Dexter is upset when Annie refers to him as just a friend, crushing any hopes Dexter had of something developing between the pair.
Kirsty’s having problems with her computer and when Jai is unable to fix them, she rushes off to university to see if she can catch one of the IT specialists before they leave. Having missed the barbecue Miles planned, Kirsty apologises but Miles isn’t having it. He tells Kirsty that her studies are taking over her whole life and labels her the most selfish person on the planet before walking off.
