Cam’s desperate dealings leave Martha in danger. Jules makes Cassie’s life a misery. Lucas must choose between his family and his future.
Extended Summary
A distraught Cassie demands to know why Jules defaced the poster and humiliated her, but he’s cold and unrepentant. She later discovers his reasons – he wanted her off his back. Jules doesn’t like the fact she got him to open up about his feelings. He later flares when he witnesses Cassie defending him to Sally. In a desperate attempt to push Cassie away, he tells her she deserved the abuse she copped from Macca. When Cassie rushes away in tears, we see Jules slump – he feels terrible for what he’s done. Sally later tells Cassie that despite her good intentions, Jules might not be ready to be helped just yet. Sally thinks it might be best to leave him alone for now.
Tony’s stoked to have Lucas back home from the writer’s camp. However, he’s bemused that Luc turned down a scholarship with a prestigious private school. Lucas claims he wasn’t interested in the offer, but Tony soon realises Lucas turned it down so he could support his family in the wake of Beth’s death. Tony is touched, but nevertheless encourages Lucas to reconsider – the offer is too good to refuse. When Lucas learns Tony hasn’t been coping well with Beth’s death, he decides to stay in the Bay. Luc feels his father is more important than a scholarship.
Cam money troubles are now so dire he can’t even pay his staff. He desperately needs Lou’s backing or the club is sunk! Knowing Lou has eyes for Martha, Cam tries to enlist her help to seal the deal. He wants her to dance at the meeting. However, after Lou was all hands with her last time, Martha firmly refuses. Desperate for her help, Cam lies and claims the loan sharks are threatening to hurt Crystal. With Crystal’s safety seemingly at stake, Martha reluctantly agrees to dance for Lou. At the meeting, she even goes so far as to put up with his flirtations. However, the minute Lou signs the contract Martha politely declines his interest and retreats to her dressing room. Little does she know, Cam has promised her to Lou. Cam allows Lou to go to her dressing room to collect what he’s owed. In the dressing room, Lou grabs Martha and demands she stop being such a tease and give him everything he wants.
