Extended Summary
Nate continues to try and get a hold of Tori, leaving a message saying that he knows the truth and doesn’t want them to be over, and if she feels the same, to give him a call.
Kat pulls up in her patrol car at the sight of mystery man’s car – in the middle of the road. He tells her that a kangaroo jumped out in front of his car and he swerved to miss it. Kat is wary of him but ultimately lets him go, unaware that she has abandoned an injured Tori.
Tori wakes up from unconsciousness to the menacing mystery man. She assaults him and runs away. The following morning, Tori roams the bushes, but when she finds her car, the mystery man grabs her and forces her he tells her to take a phone call.
At the Beach House, Irene worries about the fact that Mick is out of the mental institution. Nate arrives and he and Leah try to reassure Irene. She resolves not to let her son scare her.
VJ tries to reassure Billie about the baby, saying that it won’t be too much longer. Later that day, VJ tells Billie that he has been looking up ways to kickstart labour, but she assures him that it’ll happen when the time is right.
Afterwards, Leah informs VJ and Billie that Mick has been released from the psychiatric institution. Reacting to the news, Billie drops her glass, but covers it up by blaming her pregnancy. Billie then goes to visit and petition Irene to make sure Mick goes back to prison. Irene questions why Billie wants Mick prosecuted so badly. Uncomfortable, Billie hurries off. Outside the Surf Club, she begins to see Mick everywhere and has a panic attack. Ash, coming back from a surf, rushes to her aid and takes her home.
At the beach, John and Alf stop Kat, mid-run, and question her about the recent spate of fires. She assures them whilst they have nothing yet, they hope Forensics will come up with something soon.
At the Farmhouse, Matt watches on as Evelyn quizzes Phoebe as to why she hasn’t finished organising the stagehands. Phoebe tells her that she’s been busy writing her song, which she promptly goes to her room to finish. Justin arrives in time to learn of the massive workload ahead for Phoebe. He decides to help out. Matt and Evelyn leave to go (and attempt to) de-stress at the Diner.
Back at the Summer Bay house, Billie assures her loved ones that everything is OK, and the reason behind her panic attack was her nerves about the baby. She confirms that she popped in to see Irene, but only to offer her support about Mick’s release.
At a warehouse, Tori is instructed by the mystery man to sit tight and wait. At the police station, Kat reveals the identity of the mystery man as Carl Lacey and tells McCarthy about their encounter the night before. Changing the subject, McCarthy asks her to go set up an RBT with her colleague, but she asks to stay back and investigate the fires. He tells her that he doesn’t want her involved, suggesting that her interest stems from her desire to keep Martin Ashford safe from prosecution. Kat goes to the Diner to buy lunch, and John asks her about the fires again – she tells him she’s been kicked off the case. Phoebe then comes back into the Diner and tells a now relaxed Evelyn that she’ll get her jobs done, but Evelyn tells her she doesn’t have to.
Phoebe goes to the festival site and realises that Justin has done all of her jobs. Justin informs her that Nina is going to let him see Ava.
Back at the Warehouse, Tori tries to escape but is shocked when Ranae turns up and apologises for keeping her waiting…
Back at the Summer Bay house, Alf and Leah assure VJ that when the baby is born, his whole world will change. VJ, however, is distracted and shocked to learn that it’s been nine months since Irene was kidnapped (and Oscar died). From this he finally realises, and confronts Billie – Mick’s the baby’s father.
