Extended Summary

Tori, arrives at the hospital having been informed about Nate’s collapse. She orders a wide spectrum of tests trying to figure out what happened, until she finds a small needle mark on his arm dripping blood, prompting her to order a toxicology report on top of everything.

Kat, meanwhile, is tired and exhausted following the disappearance of Josh and Andy. Ash assures her that he had nothing to do with it. She didn’t think that he did, but questions how he feels about it. Ash is offended, reminding Kat that as the garage was put up as security for Andy’s bail, it means his business is about to go down the tubes. It also means Kat’s lost money, and Phoebe’s credit rating will also be shot. And he’s appalled Kat thinks he wouldn’t care about any of that… He leaves before Kat can respond. Ash later downloads to Phoebe, apologising for everything with Andy, he knows the garage is in her name, but she’s more worried about Ash, losing his dream, and of course Kat.

Mason arrives at the Diner as they’re closing, wanting to leave some flyers advertising the opening of Salt tomorrow. Chris, however, gives him short shrift. No way is he going to start advertising for the competition! Irene takes Chris to task – that was a bit uncalled for, wasn’t it? Chris begs to differ. As far as he’s concerned – the culinary gauntlet is about to be thrown down. And he’s not going to let anyone take the Diner’s customers away without a fight!

Brody’s working tirelessly to ensure the opening goes smoothly, and Phoebe offers her service as a singer. Brody’s surprised – he had no idea about her former career as a pop star.

The next day Nate comes to, and finds he doesn’t have any memory of what’s happened. Tori reveals the barrage of tests she’s ordered so far haven’t shown anything out of the ordinary. But now Tori gets the results of the toxicology screen back – which shows Nate has tested positive for ketamine! Nate’s shocked, and insists there’s no way he’s taken anything like that! But for Tori, it’s the worst kind of déjà vu… She knows that Nate’s been drugged, on purpose, by someone who’s trying to get to her. Panicked, she runs out of the room and calls hospital security, leaving a puzzled Nate in her wake…

Phoebe assures Brody that her performance tonight will be great. Social media already blew up when she said she was performing at the opening. Brody is buoyed/

At the hospital Tori tracks down CCTV footage of the room Nate collapsed in, revealing Spike to have drugged Nate. Now, certain they’re in trouble, a frantic Tori arrives home in search of Justin. She knows the family have to pack up and get out of Summer Bay – fast. It’s too late, however. Spike is already inside… And now that he’s finally caught up with Tori, he’s not going to give her a chance to run… Tori’s frightened, as Spike is about to make some demands.

Ash arrives at the garage to find an envelope, which is stuffed full of money. Ash is stunned as he flicks through it… There’s also a note from Andy, apologising for taking off and hoping this is enough to save the garage.

Ash now tracks down Justin, and asks him again what he saw last week, when he thought Andy was involved in something dodgy at the garage. Justin reiterates that he saw Andy hand over a late model car to a guy who then gave him an envelope of what he reckons was cash… Looked to him very much like it was some kind of stolen car ring… Ash can’t help but feel sick… On one hand, the money will bail the business out of trouble… But on the other – the cash has obviously been obtained illegally…

Justin now arrives home – and realises he’s walked straight into a trap. A frightened Tori’s apologetic, as Spike holds her tightly. The don’t understand what he wants. Spike assumes they’re playing stupid. All they have to do is give ‘the book’ to him. Tori manages to take Spike by surprise, spraying him with mace, and Justin finishes the job, knocking him out.

Salt, meanwhile, has opened, and the party’s going swimmingly… Roo, Irene and John all arrive to discover Chris is already there. He claims he’s simply doing some intel, trying to suss out the competition, and he now proceeds to denigrate everything about the revamped restaurant. Roo, Irene and John, however, all ooh and aah over the new menu as they sample the food on offer. John soon discovers that he and Marilyn have just been assigned a new foster child by Docs. Brody admits to Phoebe that today has gone well, partly thanks to her. Though Phoebe teases that she deserves more than that. Mason interrupts, worried about not hearing from Justin or Tori yet.

Justin and Tor close the blinds trying to figure out what to do with Spike. Justins worries why Buddy isn’t barking, and goes to find him. The look back to discover that Spike has escaped.

We discover Spike has now made his way to the beach, where his wounds are being tended to by none other than Lara! She’s been in cahoots with the bad guys the whole time!

Phoebe and Kat have a drink at Salt and talk through losing the garage, both feeling for Ash. Wishing there was a way to save it. Meanwhile Ash stores the envelope in a drawer, clearly undecided about the money. Kat, later apologises to Ash for doubting his integrity… Kat knows Ash is a nice guy, who understands right from wrong. She only wondered how he felt about the Barretts because they’re his mates too. Whilst Ash appreciates the gesture, he can’t help but feel guilty, given he’s now in possession of fifty thousand dollars’ worth of hot money…

At the restaurant, everything’s been a great success and Brody and Mason are just about to kick back and relax for five minutes, when Justin races in and tells them they have to pack their stuff and get out of Summer Bay. Their identities have been discovered… if they don’t get out of here, they’re dead…
