Martha’s test results come back. Things are going well for Roman and Charlie. Nicole refuses to see reason.
Extended Summary
Roman and Charlie’s unofficial date is ruined when Nicole arrives home early from the school camp, having been sent home after the fiasco with the kitchen hand. Roman is getting exasperated by Nicole’s behaviour, as well as furious, and Nicole, characteristically, refuses to see what she’s done wrong. No matter how hard Roman tries to get through, Nicole’s just not interested.
Charlie is feeling put out after her night with Roman was ruined, but not wanting to come across as too eager, she offers to call off their next date if Roman has his hands full with Nicole. Roman insists the date go ahead, they can’t let Nicole’s behaviour rule their lives, since she’s not going anywhere, he’ll just have to learn to get on with his life amid her dramas. Charlie’s only too happy the date’s going ahead, and she’s even raised herself a little higher in his esteem.
Martha and Jack are dreading the results of Martha’s tests, but worse than the dread is the agony of waiting. The pair decide to go on a picnic to take their minds off it, and with high success. Despite the memories of their last disastrous picnic, it’s a perfect day of fun and happiness. Until they arrive home to find Rachel waiting with the results.
