Extended Summary

The tension between Charlie and Morag grows when Charlie learn that Morag has taken Ross off one of his medications, even though it was the suggestion of his GP. Later, it’s Morag’s turn to get angry when she finds Ross near collapse after Charlie takes him to the gym. Trying to help, Ross asks Charlie to back off a little and stop stepping on Morag’s toes. Charlie assumes Morag put him up to it, and it only causes more grief. With the stress of dealing with Charlie as well as Ross building up, Morag decides to take up Aden’s case as an escape from her troubles.

When Bridget tells Martha some of the finer details of her date with Alf, he doesn’t like it, he’d rather his personal life didn’t become the talk of the town. But Bridget won’t be cowed by his grumpy mood, as far as she’s concerned, he can take her or leave her, but she’s not changing. When Martha hears what Alf’s done, she gives him quite the stern talking to. Realising his happiness is more important than what people know of his private life, Alf tells Colleen to let the whole town know the date was great, and Bridget accepts his apology.

Aden’s court case has finally arrived, and his lawyer thinks he’d have a much better chance if he agreed to bring up the abuse he suffered at a child, but whatever happens, he refuses to even if it means the difference between going to jail. Without permission to bring up the major motivation for Aden’s crime, his lawyer had quite a battle on his hands. So when Belle takes the stand and, wanting to help Aden, begins to bring up the abuse, Aden’s lawyer allows her to go ahead, but as soon as he realises what’s happening, Aden explodes, firing his lawyer on the spot.

The case is adjourned till the next day. Worried about Aden’s chances, Roman asks Morag to take over, and she agrees. Later that day, when Belle tries to get through to Aden he goes berserk, kicking and thumping Angelo’s car, which she’s driving. So when a brick is hurled through the windscreen that night, she can only wonder if Aden has completely lost it.
