Extended Summary

Summer Bay’s newest residents, the Walker family, arrive in town having moved from the city and patriarch Sid reveals to Leah that he is the doctor covering for Rachel while she is on maternity leave. While the family sets about amusing themselves as they await the arrival of the removal team with their belongings, Sid receives a text message from a mystery woman. Seeing the text, Sid’s wife Jody is suspicious and blasts her husband for cheating on her again. Despite Sid’s protests of innocence, Jody refuses to listen to him.

At the Diner, Jody reveals to Leah that Sid has cheated on her before and the reason the family moved to Summer Bay was to get a fresh start. Later at the Surf Club, Sid breaks the news to his children Indigo and Dexter that Jody has left him and returned to the city. While Dexter insists his father go after Jody and fix things, Indigo applauds her mother for finally having the strength to walk away from Sid.

Following Rex and Jane’s announcement that they’re planning to sue the hospital, Rachel is forced to face the hospital board to go over the events of the day that Jane’s baby died. Running through the events of that fateful day, Rachel tells the board she asked a nurse to get Jane a bedpan so she wouldn’t need to be alone in a bathroom stall, however, the board informs Rachel that the nurse has a different version of events. Later, having spoken to Rachel about what happened when she fronted the hospital board, Tony bumps into Rex as he tries to talk to him, but Rex believes Tony is trying to talk him out of suing the hospital for negligence.

Once home, Rachel is visited by nurse Julie who tells her that on the day Jane lost her baby, Rachel was a liability and cites her having to correct a medication dosage Rachel gave that day as proof. Rachel is worried for her career when Julie insists she isn’t taking the blame for what happened.

John’s condition is improving and Alf is pleased to hear that he’ll soon be released from hospital. However, Trey arrives back in the Bay, determined to put an end to things with John once and for all. Managing to convince the hospital he is John’s brother, Trey obtains information on which hospital room John is in as his plan for revenge begins to fall into place.

Kirsty is excited when she is accepted into university to study to become a high school teacher.
