***

FLYNN’S PLACE
Leah pursues Flynn through to the house, insisting that her feelings aren’t simply ‘transference’ – they would have kissed had Jesse not intervened that last time. Flynn tries to make her see sense – she loves Jesse, and he loves Sally. If only life was that simple – Leah realises she loves Jesse, and can’t work out whee her feelings for Flynn have come from. She is persistant – it’s not the baby, and she is adamant that there is “something there” between them. Leah looks less than impressed whern Flynn manages to look her in the eye and tell her that he doesn’t love her. She promptly walks out on him.

OUTSIDE SURF CLUB
Dani, Scott and Alf are setting up the decorations and stuff for the party when Noah and Hayley come along, smiles wide on their faces, to announce their news – they are engaged! Raptuous congratulations ensue, with Dani examining the ring. Irene, Tasha and Robbie appear from nowhere to offer their congratulations, and Kit walks up to tell them she’d be excvited too… if she knew what was going on. Her face drops somewhat as she is informed that her former idol is an engaged man, but her face quickly changes to a falsely delighted smile.

PATTERSON HOUSE
Leah gazes lovingly at the wedding and engagement rings on her finger as peaceful piano music plays in the background, disturbed after a moment by the sound of a wailing child. She continues to prepare food, asking a mystery person in the other room to “grab him”… it is Flynn who appears at the kitchen door to assure Leah that VJ’s fine, before going to wrap his arms around his apparent wife, nuzzling into her as they both grin contentedly…
A metal colander clanging to the floor snaps Leah out of her daydream and she is once again alone in the kitchen, not looking best pleased about it.

OUTSIDE SURF CLUB
Scott wonders how life in the big city is for Kit, and all seems to be going well. She’s also back in the dating game, but insists it’s nothing serious. They greet Leah, who doesn’t acknowledge them as she walks past, face like thunder.

SURF CLUB
Leah finds Alf in the surf club, enquiring as to Jesse’s whereabouts. It seems that Jesse neglected to mention to her that he was off into the city to collect a surprise present for Hayley. Noah and Hayley entered right on cue to announce their good news once more to Leah – who is delighted for them. Her face soon falls when Noah cheerfully announces that they’re using she and Jesse as a model – if they turn out as happy as them, then they’ll be ‘sorted’. Don’t speak too soon. Leah lies, telling Hayley that Jesse is at home minding VJ, before making an escape. As she leaves, ther happy couple wonder whether all is well in the land of Leah. Alf blames her attitude on she having a lot on her plate.

CARAVAN PARK
Henry and Max bicker as they come downstairs, having spent time getting ready for all the girls that they assume will be swarming around them. Kit and Beth note that Henry has certainly settled into the place as Robbie parades through to the living area, complete in superman T-shirt, bright red shirt and some sort of pale bandada tied around his neck, wondering if he looks ‘good’ or ‘good’. No one answers. Matilda also makes a grand entrance, dressed to the nines and not-so-subtly enquiring whether Kim will be at the party. Robbie is refused time to get changed, and is almost dragged out of the door by the Sutho-Hunter clan.
As the noise dies down, Jade takes the chance to ask Kit about the city and although she misses Summer Bay, she would never move back. The conversation is interrupted as Jade notices Matilda wearing her necklace. Matilda turns her nose up, announcing that she thought they were meant to be sisters, before backtracking – they can’t actually say that anymore, can they? She wonders why Jade walks out upset and she receives ‘the look’ from both Kit and Beth.
Kit follows Jade out onto the back patio, light-heartedly mentioning that everyone thought SHE was a cow when they first met her. Jade, however, isn’t in a mood to joke, and reckons Matilda, for one, was right – it’s not her home anymore. She coldly agrees that everyone has been freaked out by the latest events, giving only short and sharp answers in response to Kit’s attempts at friendship. Kit tries to make her realise what a mistake it is to push people away when you are messed up, and just wants Jade to have a good time that night. Jade promises that she will… but somehow you get the feelin her ‘fun’ isn’t quite what Kit had in mind…

PATTERSON PLACE
Flynn arrives to see Leah, just to see how she is – he actually does care about her. She doesn’t want to listen to him preaching to her after she made such a fool of herslf, but Flynn grabs her and sits her down. As he strokes her hair back in a disturbingly lovingly fashion, he tells her that they’re simply going a ‘weird stage’… she doesn’t understand how it feels so real… she can’t stop thinking about him. With no Jesse to intervene this time, Flynn and Leah engage in a passionate kiss. It takes Flynn a while to force himself to pull away, agonising over what just happened before walking out. Leah looks equally stressed out.

OUTSIDE SURF CLUB
Robbie has been blindfolded and is spun around as a gathering of family and friends take him to his birthday pressie – the car he was making eyes at the other day. He is taken aback and delighted, unable to believe that he actually got the car that he wanted after the escapade with irene’s car. As Robbie examines his new possession, Matilda is quick to mention the around-the-world trip she wants for HER seventeenth. Tasha wants to take the car for a spin, but it isn’t yet registered.

FLYNN’S PLACE
Flynn returns to an empty house, and gazes wistfully at the wedding photo on the side.

PATTERSON HOUSE
Leah is sat in the darkened living room with VJ. She tells him that his Mum needs a hug, but he doesn’t get the hint.

BREAK

OUTSIDE SURF CLUB
As the party is being set up, Duncan is busy spiking the punch, and Jade – looking considerably panda-like – reckons it’s a bit of a cliche, but still helps herself. Duncan advises her to stick with him for the fun, as Seb scowls on from the sidelines.

Seb follows the pair inside, where he finds Duncan pouring a bottle into another punch bowl. Something’s clearly getting to Jade’s head as she struggles to recall what she and Duncan were giggling about seconds beforehand, and a fed up looking Seb attempts to pull Jade aside for a chat about the move. She’s clearly not in the mood, and she and Duncan stroll off, telling him to loosen up and have some fun. Seb pursues them, trying to make them see sense, but Duncan insists they’re not breaking any laws, before reaching into his pocket “unless you wanna try…”. Seb reprimands them, but Jade has lost all of her senses – she just wants to feel good, and she can handle it… just as it looks like she and Seb may be making headway, Jade decides to drag Duncan onto the dance floor for a song that she loves.

Outside, Max and Henry are drinking the punch, and Max notices that something ‘aint quite right about it. Henry decides it’s time to go and get some girls, and walks out into the crowds
Robbie is still on cloud nine about the car, and is envisaging all the alterations he is going to make to it. Tasha suggests that Hayley and Noah use it as their wedding car… but for some reason Hayley doesn’t exactly look enthusiastic about the idea. As Robbie and tasha drag Hayley away to see the car, Kim and Matilda are left alone. Matilda rolls her eyes at her brother and his juvenile obsession with cars, but quickly changes her mind when Kim informs her that cars are cool. She wonders if he has a car – he doesn’t – but if he did she’d ask if they could go for a drive sometime. Matilda puts on a sulky face when Kim implies that she’s too young – sweet, but young… on seeing her disappointment he places his hands on her shoulders, and tells her that she’s smart and pretty – but he’s just not looking for a girl. Max watches on downhearted as Matilda and Kim share an apparent moment. As soon as Kim has gone, Max races over to her to offer her some punch, but she ignores him and walks off

FLYNN’S PLACE
Flynn drinks alone.. in the dark… on the kitchen floor. Sally tries calling on his mobile, but he rejects the call before curling up in the corner.

SURF CLUB
Inside the party, Jad’s condition is worsening and Kit warns her that the night is still young. Duncan has heard of Kit – somehow – and how she can “drink anyone under the table”. Needless to say Kit is unamused at the remark, and Duncan reckons she has turned into a do-gooder. He advises that she and Seb get together, and Seb has finally had enough. The two guys front up to one another, and they are pulled apart by Jade, who instead of taking her partner’s side decides to advise Seb to loosen up – he’s hopeless. Kit stops Seb from chasing Jade as she walks off, and tells him not to worry – she’ll keep an eye on Jade.

Jade goes outside, where Dani is also ready and waiting to dish out good advice to her non-sister. She has about as much success in getting through to Jade as Seb did. Hayley and Dani observe some tough-ish looking guys arriving at the party, and stop them in their tracks to inform them it’s a private party. The guys craftily claim to be mates of Hayley’s… only problem being that she is stood right in front of them and has never seen them before in her life. The guys leave quietly, deciding the party wasn’t worth it anyway. More trouble arrives in the form of Felix, who bumps straight into Dani. Not only does he claim to be a friend of Hayley’s, but he’s also there to “keep an eye on” Dani. Dani refuses to be theatened, but Felix never said anything about threats – he just wants her to have a good time at the party…

Max and Henry are busy working their charm on a couple of girls, but things don’t go so well as the girls walk off, unimpressed. They ponder whether there is a right way to talk to girls.
Noah and Hayly are getting worried about the number of people that have shown up – Hayley recognises very few people, and they decide to go and talk to Robbie about it. Duncan swoops in to spin Hayley around the dance floor, and when Hayley ends up in a heap on the floor he faces Noah’s wrath. It’s blindingly obvious that Duncan is drunk, and Noah advises him to behave or get out, or his Dad will learn exactly what has been going on.

Outside, Kim catches Felix chatting with Matilda – apparently Felix has asked her to go for a pin in his car. Kim acts as unimpressed as possible, and sends Matilda off to her brother whilst he has a word with Felix. He reprimands Felix for hitting on young kids (although Matilda managed to pull off that she was 18…) although Felix gets the impression that Kim has double standards.

Inside, the place is filling up, and Noah – looking increasingly worried – tracks down Robbie. They work out that neither he or Hayley invited most of the people who have shown up. It seems they have a problem.
Seb finds Jade to apologise for coming on so heavy earlier, but Duncan interrupts the moment and the guys lock horns again. Seb just wants to see the back of Duncan, and Scott and Alf are forced to pull them apart before fists start flying. Duncan taunts Seb – he’s just jealous because Jade is having fun with him. Alf tries to get Jade to talk sense into Seb, but Jade just rolls her eyes, announcing that they’ll sort it out between themselves and she just wants to have fun. Alf concedes to have words with both of them in the morning.

PATTERSON HOUSE
Leah, lying alone in bed, dials a number on the phone.

FLYNN’S PLACE
The phone rings, and after hesitating, Flynn answers. He and Leah decide that they need to talk.

Later, he and Leah sit awkwardly. She wants to tell ‘them’ about the kiss, but Flynn is set against it – it’d break their hearts. Leah doesn’t want to lie, and doesn’t think she can let things go so easily.
