Extended Summary

SCHOOL
Tasha is stressed about Irene finding out about the car, and a random irritating schoolgirl, Jessica snidely remarks upon Robbie’s “new look” (ie the new glasses) and that they, as freaks were made for one another. Charming. She goes on to lay into Jade’s lock in idea, being quick to scrap the idea of a webcam – it’s not like it’ll be a big thing. She announces she has plans for the night and with an evil grin she saunters away. For some reason, Jade reckons that Jessica is popular enough to be listened to, but Seb and Robbie reassure her.

Max and Henry grumble as they clear litter up at the school as Jade, Seb, Robbie and Tasha approach them. They wonder who’s in the worse position, as Caitlin (or at least one of the girls Max has been in love with…) arrives to announce that she smuggled some baked beans into her room that morning. Max rightly wonders what is going on, and both he and Robbie (also quite correctly) wonder why everyone is choosing to be baked beans, of all foods – it’s gonna be a nuclear war. Max demands to know what is going on – after all, he can keep secrets

CARAVAN PARK
“Pregnant?!” Rhys and Beth are stunned by Kirsty’s newest revelation, but Beth raises a slighjt smile to tell Kirsty how wonderful it is. She tells Rhys it just “seemed” like she had a miscarriage, and doesn’t want to go into details. She is shell-shocked that she is “still pregnant”, and asks if Rhys would call Shelley for her, before walking out. Beth ignores Rhys remark that it’s “strange” and follows Kirsty outside onto the back porch.

Kirsty is sat glazy-eyed, stunned that her lie has become reality, and saying that she didn’t plan any of it. Of course not Kirsty, not even the ‘come off the pill and try and get preggers’ part of it before you did a runner. Kirsty worries about her relationship with Kane, and her HSC, but Beth points out that she also has a lot of family support, including a husband that loves her. She reminises about her pregnancy with Scott – it was both the happiest and hardest time of her life, but the one thing she can’t explain is the way it felt to hold Scott in her arms, and the look on Jack’s face. Kirsty points out that Beth didn’t lie to Jack, and Beth is overly surprised to learn that Kirsty hasn’t told him the truth yet. Kane is still out on a charter and she doesn’t want to tell him over the phone. He’s still feeling guilty about the miscarriage that never happened, and it’s all a mess. Rhys enters, having been getting himself excited about the baby, and Kirsty forges that she is pleased – she just needs to get her head around it.

DINER
Dani and Scott are now aware of Kirsty’s pregnancy… or rather lack of miscarriage. Dani just assumes Kirsty got it wrong as she was under a lot of stress. Hayley greets Auntie Dani, news of the pregnancy spreading like wildfire. They decide to celebrate – any excuse for a drink – and when Hayley and Dani mock their respective partners about the ‘style and sophistication’ of a pizza in front of the TV. Scott and Noah decide to prove that they can do sophistication – AND style

Irene examines all she has left of her car… consisting of the ‘MG’ plate. Irene has a few ideas of her own as to who was behind the stunt and is adamant that when she gets the full story, she’ll be doing more than “finger jabbing”

BEACH HOUSE
Robbie arrives to Irene’s summons and she angrily confronts him over his stupidity, telling him that she found his glasses. His apologies don’t wash, her main concern appearing to be her car. She questions whether Tasha was involved, and although he confesses, he is prepared to take all the blame. As an afterthought, Irene stresses that they could have killed themselves. He tells her that he took her car because he has an obsession with MG’s and has always wanted to drive one… however, it doesn’t seem to convince Irene, despite his insistence that there was no other clown involved. Robbie realises that Irene will have to talk to Beth.

CARAVAN PARK
Max and Henry listen in, amused, as Beth roasts Robbie for stealing a car, but Beth isn’t impressed at them either – “you think stealing a car’s something to be proud of, do you?”. Robbie’s excuses dig him a deeper grave as he describes driving Irene’s car as an honour, as it’s a great car… WAS a great car. He claims it was in impulse, and apologises to Beth, but she isn’t too supportive, telling Irene she has every right to report it to the police. Irene, however, has chosen to be lenient – it wouldn’t help matters. She’s leaving the punishment up to Beth, and orders Robbie not to go anywhere near Tasha for the time being. As Irene departs, Beth tells Robbie she wants to try and make it up to Irene – she’s ashamed of him.

BEACH
Jade is pleased for Kirsty, who seems to have cheered up, but she still can’t believe she’s going to be a Mum – she had no idea she was pregnant. She is adamant that she’s going ahead with the lock-in though. She tells jade that Kane doesn’t know yet, and she doesn’t know how to tell him the truth. “What am I meant to say to him? Hey Babe, you know how I said I was pregnant before I lost the baby. Well, it was all just a lie, but hey, I’m pregnant now!”. She’s sacared about how Kane will react, particularly as he has been blaming himself, but Jade insists that Kane wouldn’t leave – “he loves you”.

BREAK

BEACH HOUSE
Tasha arrives home, and Irene probes her for the truth, getting nowhere as Tasha continues to lie. Irene gives Tasha one last chance, before letting rip about the lies – it’s the one thing she can’t handle. Tasha is profoundly apologetic, but sorry doesn’t cut it with Irene – things could have turned out much, much worse. Tasha has the audacity to bring up Irene’s lies about the identity of her mother, before deciding to run off again.

CARAVAN PARK
Robbie is peeling vegetables and offers to take the rubbish out, but Beth doesn’t want him to try and make it up to her – she wants to know why he did it, and isn’t believing Robbie’s tale about worhipping MG’s. Robbie drops Kim’s name in, before retracting and denying Kim’s involvement. He can’t stand the way Beth’s looking at him, and would rather have the strap from Jack again. Beth is concerned that she has been ignoring or neglecting him, but Robbie insists that isn’t the case – she’s amazing, and he doesn’t want to make her mad. Despite her temper cooling down a bit, she’s still furious and sentences him to a month grounded.
As Robbie goes to his room, Jade, Max and Henry conspire about the sit-in – she wants Max and Henry to be the communications team on the outside. Max reckons they should devise a code for e-mails, but Jade isn’t impressed – that’s likely to get Beth and Rhys even more suss.

CARAVAN PARK
Robbie manages, once again to make a mess of things as his attempt to make pancakes for breakfast goes haywire – he didn’t think it mattered what sort of flour he used…
Jade pulls Robbie aside, and is incensed that he can no longer to the webcam due to his grounding. Rhys interrupts them, wondering why Jade is smuggling bread and beans out of the house. He believes that she is simply taking food for a sleepover at “Libby’s”. Rhys drags Robbie away to Irene’s for a before-school apology.

THE PALACE
Hayley makes breakfast for she and Scott, Noah and Dani having disappeared for swimming/surfing. Hayley wishes she could have an activity like that to take her mind off things, and tries to ignore his question about she and art. She just wants to forget about it, but Scott doesn’t get why he asked Dani to chuck away her paintings, as they’re amazing. Dani arrives back, and Hayley confronts her, wondering what she actuyally did with the pictures. Dani confesses to keeping them safe – she thought Hayley would be fine so long as she didn’t have to see them. Haykey is upset – she trusted Dani and the paintings make her feel like a freak. She insists that Dani dipose of them.

SCHOOL
Tasha is frustrated at the way Irene has been behaving, and snipes at Robbie when he asks whether she mentioned Kim.
Caitlin tells Jade she can’t fit her food supplies into her locker, and another couple of kids come to tell her they’re pulling out of the sit-in. Jade is upset – they have to be united. Max and Henry arrive with a masterplan – how about they lock Hyde in solitary and starve him? Caitlin chuckles, but Jade is unimpressed, stressing that they must do things properly… just as Hyde sneaks up behind them. He is aware that something is going on, and doesn’t like secrets anymore than he likes petitions. She tells him if he wants to talk, then she’s willing to set up a meeting with the school council. Hyde informs her that if anything goes down, he will be holding her personally responsible.

Kirsty squashes things into her locker at just as Hyde enters the corridor. He offers his congratulations on news of her non-miscariage, but hopes she will continue with her education. He then spots her sleeping bag, and doesn’t look too convinced as Kirsty claims she is attending a sleep-over that night – “I thought students were done with sleepovers by year nine”. He is still suspicious about the position, and Kirsty is unable to make a getaway as he launches into another speech – he has been trying to place himself in his students shoes, and wants the truth.
Jade interrupts to drag Kirsty to assembly, commenting to Hyde that he hates them being late.

In assembly, Kirsty warns Jade that Hyde knows there’s something going on, just as Hyde takes to the stage – he is aware of “political action” being planned to ‘destablise’ the school and refuses to accept it – suspension will face all involved, and the ringleaders will be held personally responsible. He dismisses the record-breakingly short assembly, summoning Jade to his office.

In his office, Hyde discusses with Jade the fact that authority tends to isolate people – he finds that, and suggests that she will, being the school captain. She doesn’t get it, but he knows she is planning to “wage war” on him. He demands that she either find out what’s going on, or he will beholding her personally responsible. He warns her that if she is leading the action, then he will expel her. Jade is horrified, and rushes straight out to yell at Kirsty, instantly jumping to the conclusion that she has let something slip to Hyde…
