Ben finally makes it back to Summer Bay and he and Carly are married at last.
Extended Summary
At the church, Pippa breaks the news to Gina that Ben is missing. They can’t wait much longer because the church is booked for a christening. Grant suggests asking everyone back to the surf club. Outside, Carly arrives in the wedding car, only for Pippa to break the bad news to her.
Back at the house, Carly runs upstairs to her room. Pippa follows and comforts her. Downstairs, Gina complains about Angelo. Bobby suggests she and Sophie go and help Ailsa as she’s serving drinks at the surf club. She goes upstairs to get her bag and tries to tell Carly she’s sure there’s an explanation. Carly is distraught and wants to know why Ben hasn’t called.
Pippa goes downstairs while Carly is getting changed, and Gina continues railing on Angelo. Antonio asks if he can have a word with Carly.
We see Ben running along a road in his underwear and the shirt the trucker gave him. At the Diner, Adam is trying to absolve himself of blame as Ben had plenty of time to get back but Matt tells him to admit he’s an idiot. Adam worries that Alf is going to kill him and plans to give everyone a couple of days to cool down.
Antonio tells Carly how Gina was late for their wedding and he thought she had changed her mind, but she finally arrived. Ten years later she told him she stayed outside to make him nervous! He knows Ben isn’t like Gina and he knows how much he loves Carly.
Ben arrives at the church and the reverend tells him Carly is at home and he has some explaining to do! Ben explains it was a bucks night prank and asks if they can reschedule the service. The reverend says he can’t ask Mrs. Johnson to put off her child’s christening for half an hour… but Ben could!
The phone rings and Pippa hurries to answer it but it’s only Ailsa. Pippa tells her to go ahead and start serving the food. Ben finally returns and explains he was on a truck to Perth but that the wedding is back on and they need to get to the church. Pippa tells him he needs to give Carly an explanation upstairs and then rushes to call Ailsa back!
Ben hugs Carly and tells her he’s sorry. Carly cries and says she thought he didn’t want to marry her. Ben checks she still wants to marry him… in about 40 minutes.
Ben and Grant enter the Stewart house for Ben to shower and change. Grant tells Ben that Angelo and Adam have both nicked off so Ben asks Grant to be his best man. The Fletcher family music plays as we see everyone rushing to get ready at both houses.
Carly arrives at the church and Ben smiles as Alf walks her up the aisle and gives her away. Carly and Ben say their vows and Ben gives Carly Pippa’s ring because Angelo still has hers. Bobby points out it’s something borrowed; she told her everything would work out. They are pronounced husband and wife and they kiss.
