The Truth Is Out!

Kirsty discovers Kane’s shocking secret!

Kane’s secret is finally out! This week, his wife, Kirsty, discovers he has cancer. And of course, she’s completely shell-shocked.

As viewers will know, Kane (Sam Atwell) has kept the devastating news from Kirsty (Christie Hayes) because he was convinced nothing should distract her while she was sitting for her year 12 exams. So while he was visiting hospital for chemotherapy, Kirsty believed he was away on boat charters.

“Kirsty was getting a bit suspicious,” Sam says. “There were inconsistencies in his story, but Kane was always able to talk his way out of it.”

The truth, however, is exposed when Kirsty catches Kane walking into Sally (Kate Ritchie) and Flynn’s (Joel McIlroy) house. “Kane is coming back from another chemo session and runs into Kirsty,” Sam says. “He has no other option but to tell her everything.

“When Kirsty sees him, he’s wearing a bit of a disguise so it all looks pretty dodgy. She’s stunned and also confused because she realises he’s been lyig.”

Kane is relieved that he can finally be up-front with his wife. “It’s taken a lot of his energy to keep it from her,” Sam says.

Spy Games

Another shocking secret is exposed in Summer Bay this week. Sally, Flynn and Irene learn that Ian Osbourne, Tasha’s father, has placed the Beach House under surveillance.

Morag (Cornelia Frances) explains to an outraged Sally, Flynn and Irene (Lynne McGranger) that, with the help of Josie (Laurie Foell), Ian wired the house for sight and sound to observe his daughter and decide whether she is worthy of inheriting his massive fortune.

Morag confronts Ian (played by veteran Aussie actor Andrew McFarlane) via the cameras in the house and tells him the game is over; the cameras must be removed immediately.

Ian says he’s ready to talk, but only to one person – Irene. Later, he does just that, but stuns her when he drops a massive bombshell: he will pay her $1 million to keep an eye on Tasha (Isabel Lucas) for him!

What will Irene’s response be? Will she betray Tasha’s trust?
