Does anyone else want a break from crime?

I would seriously question anyone’s judgement if they believe the balance is better on H&A than Neighbours. Yes Neighbours is too crime/villain focused too but nowhere near to the extent that H&A is.

And I agree that Paul has paid for his actions. Didn’t he have a brain tumour at the time anyway? I thought that exonerated you in soap land. It pretty much did for John Palmer anyway...but he’s in Home and Away so I guess he’s exempt?!

But H&A always has been the more dramatic soap.

The one thing Neighbours is definitely better at is when someone has an accident the injury usually lasts for several weeks, even months where as in HAA you go from being in a wheelchair to walking around working in the gym in the space of a month.

I don't mind crime as long as it makes sense and used sparingly on a show like HAA.Unfortunately neither is done well.I don't think Neighbours does it any better either though.

No, he didn't have a brain tumour at the time. He had a brain tumour years later which people keep trotting out to try and justify him literally getting away with murder.John's actions were dealt with legally, Paul's just carried on getting away with that and the dozens of crimes he's committed without punishment since the tumour was removed. He never pays for anything and always gets forgiven, whereas in Home and Away these things do tend to catch up with people sooner or later, especially in the last couple of years or so.

Andy and Josh are in jail. Hunter...well, I agree with you but at least he confessed to the police and got community service/slap on the wrist/no action taken whilst Paul has got no legal punishment at all for murder, arson, poisoning the wetlands with toxic waste, sabotaging a building site and causing life-threatening injuries, planting a bomb in a van, fraud, conspiring to pervert the course of justice, statutory rape and goodness knows what else, and very little karmic punishment either. The police in Erinsborough are an even bigger joke than their Summer Bay counterparts.

Didn’t know that about Andy and Josh, I am at a disadvantage here as I don’t pay as much attention to Home and Away so my knowledge of it is inferior. However, you do seem to be changing events to suit your opinion such as Paul committing statutory rape which never happened and you know that, and he did have a brain tumour when he committed murder. Yes he has committed other crimes since the tumour was removed but there are still plenty of criminals in H&A we’re supposed to see as protagonists, namely all of the Braxtons who I’m sure committed a large amount of crimes. And Mick who is a rapist just flying around town wherever it suits. I’ve noticed you do have a bias towards H&A for whatever reason though.
