PART 8 “That was fun.” Chris pulls away from Kate and smiles down at her, kissing her softly. She takes his hand and looks at him seriously. “Do you have any idea how happy you make me?” He responds with another tender kiss and she throws her arms around his neck. “I love you, Chris.” “I love you more.” Kate laughs, pulling her fingers through his hair. “No you don’t. I love you more.” Chris just laughs and pulls her up with him, looking at her seriously. “I can’t marry Mandy, Kate. I can’t lose you.” Kate puts her arms around his neck and rests her head against his chest. “I’d die if that happened.” He strokes over her hair slowly. “I don’t know what to do… If there was just a way… paying her off is a good idea, but then we’re never going to stop. I want her out of my life.” Kate sighs. ”Let’s kill her.” Chris laughs, softly kissing her forehead. “Good idea. Poison or violence?” “On a more serious note. We have to do something to make her stop bothering you. I just don’t know what…” “Marry me.” Kate looks at him in shock. “What?” “Nic and Amy did it, right? To get Clare off their backs. So let’s do it. Let’s do it now.” Kate frowns. “The situation is hardly the same, Chris. Clare didn’t want to charge Nic with rape unless he married her.” “I know there aren’t any guarantees, but maybe it will get her to back off.” Kate looks at Chris quietly. “Chris, I do want to marry you. But not like that. Not in secrecy and under a threat from some bimbo.” Chris sighs and nods. “You’re right. It’s not going to solve anything. We just have to think of a solution…” Jodi puts the book down softly, looking at Noah with a tender smile. He is sleeping, his hand clutching onto hers and his mouth in a small smile. She bends down; pulling the duvet up to his neck and gives him a peck on the forehead. “Sweet dreams little Noah.” Noah nods, his eyes still closed. “Goodnight mommy.” Jodi bites her lip, tears forming in her eyes. “Night…” “Kate, it’s Paul. Please call me back. Thanks.” Paul throws his phone down, frowning angrily. “Why the hell is she ignoring me?!” He kicks the door and falls down on the couch, picking up a wedding photo of him and Jodi. Paul can’t help smiling at their happy faces. It feels so long ago… What happened to them? Paul lifts his hand to stroke over the lines of Jodi’s happy face. It was the best day of their lives… everything was so perfect…What went wrong? Paul sighs, his shoulders hanging. “I’m so sorry, Jodz… I didn’t want this to happen to us… I love you. I really do… I don’t know why I’m attracted to Kate. But I can’t help it… I still love you… I want to be with you. I just… I don’t know. I don’t know.” “You said that you couldn’t remember anything?” Chris nods and Kate frowns slightly. “But then how do you know it’s even your child? How do you know whether you even slept together in the first place?” Chris sighs. “I don’t.” “But that’s ridiculous… what if she’s lying?” “She probably is… but I can’t prove it.” He pulls her closer, closing his eyes. “We need to find a way to solve this Kate…” Kate nods. “I want to talk to her… find out exactly what her plan is and why she’s doing this.” “I don’t think that’s such a good idea.” Kate lifts her chin. “Oh, I think it’s a great idea. Ive never read BFG 1 - Because then they have to wait for the baby to be born and Mandy wants Chris to marry her or else. 2 - There is a gap in your life! Noah is yours! LOL! He's 5! I think ive seen that. Yay, i get Noah Awww...i can add him to my group of aged 4-6yo kids in my family, now there is 4 of them, 2boys and 2 girls Im deluded. I blame the heat in my bedroom.
