I guess I can understand that coming out of your mouth you are the same person who had a Paul and Sharni obsession for afew hours. Show some loyalty Rach

And secondly, this is a fic, and Kyles somehow made Kate and Paul an interesting combination :)

Dont worry Sam, im still a die-hard JnP obsessor :D and thatl never change :)

PART 6

“My turn! Maria! You made her cry!”

Becky looks at Maria and Jodi laughs.

“It’s okay, really. I needed to cry a little.”

Becky grins.

“Well you’re going to laugh now! Come on!”

“Okay…”

Jodi stands up and Becky places her hand on Maria’s shoulder.

“You okay?”

Maria smiles.

“I’m fine! You go!”

Becky grins and grabs Jodi’s arm as they start walking away.

“Come on, let’s go, I know where we can talk.”

Chris jumps up angrily.

“Chris, where are you going?”

“I’m going to speak to him right now!”

Kate grabs his arm, holding him back.

“Don’t do that. Please? He’s just confused.”

“Well he can let his confusion out on someone else’s girlfriend, not mine!”

Kate gives him a look and he sits down next to her.

“Okay, I’m sorry. Just… the thought of him with you… It drives me crazy thinking about it.”

“Then don’t think about it.”

Chris laughs sadly.

“I can’t not think about it. It’s haunting me.”

Kate smiles seductively, slowly unbuttoning his shirt.

“Think I could get it out of your mind?”

Chris laughs, putting his arms around her waist and lowering his head.

“I’m sure you could think of something…”

“Premature Ovarian Failure? So you can never have any kids?”

Jodi nods and Becky squeezes her hand.

“Wow. That reeks.”

“It does, doesn’t it? And what makes it worse is that Paul and I are drifting apart because of that.”

“But he was aware of that before you got married, right?”

Jodi nods and Becky frowns.

“I don’t understand… if he knew, it shouldn’t be a problem now.”

Jodi sighs.

“He wants to adopt.”

“So what’s the problem?”

Jodi shakes her head.

“I just… can’t bear the thought of a stranger in my house.”

“I see.”

“And Paul thinks I’m being selfish. Maybe I am. But he’s selfish too… he can’t expect me to do that if I’m not comfortable with it.”

“I think you both just need to hear each other out. You love him right?”

“More than anything.”

“And he loves you.”

Jodi sighs, looking at the fields sadly.

“I thought he did.”

“Well he did come to say goodbye. And he didn’t exactly look like he wanted to say goodbye.”

Jodi looks at Becky uncertainly and the latter smiles.

“Look, Jodi, I can’t fix your marriage. That’s something that you and Paul have to work on. Everyday. But I can tell you that he loves you. It is so clear.”

Jodi smiles.

“Really?”

“Really.”

Becky checks her watch.

“Oh, boy! It’s my turn to look after Noah tonight, and he goes a little crazy when he’s left alone.”

“Where are his parents?”

Becky bites her lip.

“His mother was a drug addict. She overdosed and he was left at elementary school for a whole day. His father died before his birth.”

“So he’s an orphan?”

“Yeah.”

Jodi frowns.

“Poor little guy… So what, he lives here?”

“No. He was chosen for the program. He’s here for a while longer. Then he’s going back to the orphanage.”

“But he’ll get adopted eventually, won’t he?”

Becky shakes her head.

“I heard Maria and Peter talking about it. He’s too old to be adopted. People want babies, not children with the life experience of someone older than they are. He’s going to grow up there.”

“That’s horrible… poor Noah.”

“Yeah. He’s a great kid – you’ll get to know him.”

“I will?”

“Yeah. It’s your turn to watch him tomorrow.”

“I have a turn to watch him?”

Becky nods.

“Part of the program…”

“Hmmm… Kate…”

Chris closes his eyes, his blood boiling. He slowly slides his hands in under her top while she starts unbuttoning his jeans. They both sit up when the door opens, to find Paul standing there.

“Sorry. Didn’t know you were busy!”

He closes the door again, talking through the wood.

“Eh… Kate? Scott is looking for you.”
