Extended Summary

Tane is making breakfast when Felicity joins him. She is now acting her usual closed-off self. Tane reminds her things got intense before and suggests she talk to him if she needs to. All Felicity says is that she wants vegemite instead of jam. At the beach house, Cash and Jasmine are in bed. Cash notes they need to get up, then suggests they order food instead. Jasmine asks if that’s all he’s thinking about and they start kissing but then he gets a phone call. Cash wants to ignore it but Jasmine suggests it might be Felicity. In fact, it’s Tane, who explains he went away with Felicity. Cash wants to come and get her but Tane is just after advice, wondering if he should push the point or let it go. Cash says if he knew the answer he’d have done it years ago. Tane ends the call and Cash starts getting dressed, wanting to track their phones. Jasmine reminds him Tane said he’d handle it and Cash lies down again.

At Salt, Mackenzie remarks to Logan that Dean and Ziggy seemed happy, while the two of them can’t even talk about their living arrangements. Logan says he wants to check on Roo and Martha before surgery. Mackenzie suspects he’s making excuses. Ari and Mia turn up and explain about their engagement. Mackenzie asks to see the ring and offers free champagne. They say they had one too many last night and just want a celebratory breakfast. Mackenzie privately tells Ari she’s hapy for him but looks despondent when he turns away. Outside the Diner, Matthew returns and asks Chloe if she’s calmed down yet. Chloe says he hurt Mia. Matthew insists he didn’t. Chloe asks if she gave consent. Matthew says it was different then: She didn’t say no and he didn’t hurt her. Chloe says he might not have held her down but he still didn’t get consent and she never wants to see him again.

Ryder remains in the coffin and has a word with the audience, announcing he’s managed one hour. He complains that he doesn’t have enough room to stretch out his legs and knocks on the coffin, causing dirt to come down in his face. Curious about the lack of response from Theo, he phones him and asks about the weather. Theo reveals he’s gone to the Diner for lunch and insists he’ll be back before Ryder notices. Ryder protests that he just has noticed. Theo sees Chloe sitting alone and asks if she’s all right. Chloe says she is but then asks him to walk her home.

Logan has joined Alf, Roo and Martha at the hospital. He gives Roo some words of encouragement and Roo tells Martha she’ll see her in recovery. A porter starts to wheel Roo away but Martha tells him to stop, saying she doesn’t want the transplant. Later, Roo tries to talk Martha round. Martha doesn’t want Roo to have an operation she doesn’t need to. Roo tries to get Alf and Logan to step in, saying Martha could die, but Alf doesn’t answer and Logan says they can’t force Martha. Roo asks if they’re giving up. Martha insists she’s not changing her mind.

Ryder announces another hour is down and ask for a cure for pins and needles he can do inside a coffin. The first two suggestions are to get out of the coffin and not get in one in the first place, then it’s suggested he rocks from side to side. He tries it but it brings more earth down on his face. He checks the lunch Theo left and finds it’s chillis. At the Parata house, Chloe tells Theo she had a fight with her dad. Theo says he knows all about that. Chloe says she only just met him and wanted to like him but he’s not a good person. Theo says it sounds like his dad. He gets a call from Ryder and checks it’s okay for him to go.

Felicity finds Tane chopping wood and tries to invite him to a waterhole. Tane accuses her of hiding from her feelings about her dad. Felicity says the feelings aren’t going to go away ever and Tane doesn’t know what it’s like to be her. Tane reminds her his brother was killed and says he turned his back on his family afterwards but the only person that can help her is the one that went through it with her. Felicity says she’s caused Cash enough trouble. Tane says he should have let Ari in back then. Cash and Jasmine are at the beach house when Tane drops Felicity off. Jasmine goes into her room to give them space. Cash and Felicity sit on the sofa together. She admits she can’t understand why their dad did it and Cash says he’s been wondering that most of his life. She hugs him.

Ari arrives at Salt and tells Mackenzie that Mia sent him for takeaway. Tane turns up and Ari offers to talk. Meanwhile, Matthews pulls up outside the Parata house. Chloe tells him to leave. Matthew begs her to give him one afternoon to change her mind, suggesting they go to the city to meet his mates and her grandparents. Mia arrives and tells Matthew to leave, getting between him and Chloe. Matthew gets between them and the house, accusing Mia of turning Chloe against him. Mia says she just told her the truth. They try to walk past him but Matthew stops Mia, calling her a liar and a manipulator. Chloe grabs a brick and hits him over the head. She asks if he’s all right. Mia checks him and recoils, saying she doesn’t think he is.

Ryder rings Theo again, ranting about being left alone and not getting any lunch. He says he’s buried in the middle of nowhere and no-one knows where he is. Theo says he’ll be there in two minutes but then falls, cutting off the call. Meanwhile, Mia has loaded Matthew’s body into the boot of the car and tells Chloe to hand her the brick. She tells Chloe to go into the house and wait for her and not tell anyone what’s happened.

Alf goes to the hospital chapel while Martha lies in bed faced away from Roo looking at her. Ryder remains in the coffin while Theo is out cold, his leg caught in wire. At Salt, Cash shakes hands with Tane before they cuddle up to Jasmine and Felicity respectively. Logan embraces Mackenzie. Chloe is lying at home in a state of shock. Ari arrives and finds her like that, calling out for Mia. Mia is speeding through the bush out of town when a police car pulls her over. She stops and Cash gets out. Mia notices blood on her clothes and speeds off. Cash dashes back to his car and chases after her.
