I know the reruns are long in the past now, but was wondering in the show’s rating may have changed around 1996 which could have increased the number of PG and later M stories that we would have seen had the repeats continued.
If that is the case, would 7two have been unable to air this darker content so early in the morning?

the rating changed to PG during the 93 reruns, back in the day the show was G until Martha went poll dancing in 2006

What time were the repeats on 7Two aired at?  In the UK, episodes from 2000-2001 were aired on Five Life (now 5 Star) in 2007 in a 10am-11am slot.

Where would we be up to in episodes if repeats continue in 2017 without long break?.

Taking into account the interruptions with the Australian Open, Summer Olympics, Winter Olympics and Commonwealth Games this is my rough estimate of where we would have landed had episodes continued to be broadcast as normal:

1997 season = Starts week of March 12-16 2018

1998 season = Starts week of February 18-22 2019

1999 season = Starts week of January 6-10 2020

2000 season = Starts week of December 7-11 2020

2001 season = Starts week of October 18-22 2021

Not sure how 7 winning the rights to the cricket would have affected broadcasting, so I didn't take that into account.

We would be up to around episode 2985 if broadcasting had continued.

Were the Early Years available to stream on Seven's catchup player?  In the UK, ITV 3 air classic episodes of Coronation Street and Emmerdale in the early afternoon, but they only started streaming these during Covid-19.  UK soaps rationed episodes as production stopped for much longer than Australia's did - so this was a good way to fill the gap for fans.  Of course the other difference is that the Pandemic has been written into the canon of the British soaps, but the Australians haven't done that.
