Sorry it's taken a while to update yet again! But please tell me what you think!!

Chapter 6

Martha stood in front of the mirror applying the final coat of lip gloss. For once, Chris would not be coming with her when she went out to dinner with her friends. His work was actually holding him up and she was happy about it. She was going out with Robbie, Tasha, Lucas, Mathilda and Cassie to Noah’s for drinks and dinner and she couldn’t wait. After finishing her make up, she slipped her feet into her strappy satin blue heels, grabbed her bag and sat down, waiting patiently for her lift from Robbie.

A car beeped and she left the house happily and jumped in the car. She turned around to the face the driver, expecting it to be Robbie. But she was met with the gorgeous face of Jack Holden.

“Oh” she said surprised “Sorry, I thought you were Robbie. I think I made a mistake” she finished and started to open the door to get out. Jack grabbed her arm.

“No you didn’t make a mistake.” He replied softly. “Robbie asked me to pick you up because he was running late. I hope you don’t mind.” Martha looked into his eyes and he looked right back at her. Her mind started wondering, thinking how sexy he looked that night. She suddenly came out of her daze, scolding herself for letting her feelings get in the way.

“Umm yea that’s fine, thank you.” She said quickly, as she closed the door and sat there tense, forbidding herself to even think of Jack as anything other than a friend. She couldn’t do this; she couldn’t get carried away, not in the situation that she was in.

Jack finally broke away from the gaze and started the car, thinking how beautiful Martha looked. Her floaty green dress brought out the colour of her eyes and her hair looked gorgeous down.

“So” said Martha uncertainly, “You’re coming too?” hoping that the answer would be no.

“Yea, it was all kind of short notice.” replied Jack, trying to keep his eyes off Martha and on the road. They drove for another 5 minutes, in silence when Martha finally decided to sort out the problem that was causing all the discomfort between them.

“Do you feel it?” she asked suddenly. Jack looked at her confused.

“Feel what?” he asked.

“The attraction? Between us?” she said more confidently than she felt.

“Yes.” said jack simply. “I felt it the first time I met you.”

“It’s got to stop.” said Martha bluntly. “I would really love to have you as a friend, I don’t like the awkwardness between us, but I’m getting married and I can’t jeopardise that. Can we just agree to be friends and have fun?”

“Sure, if that’s what you want.” replied Jack. He wasn’t disappointed, he had expected it. He knew that they couldn’t do anything; she had a fiancé and to be honest, he was happy that he would be able to get closer to her, even if it was just as friends.

“Great.” Martha smiled. Jack smiled back and she tried to ignore the feelings that that one smile was making her feel.

They finally arrived at Noah’s, laughing as they got out of the car. After having sorted out the situation, they were getting on extremely well.

“Come on! We’re late!” said Jack, pulling Martha along.

“And who’s fault would that be?” asked Martha indignantly. “Maybe if someone had put there foot down a bit more then we would have been here ages ago. I thought you were supposed to be a cop, aren’t you supposed to drive fast?”

“Hey!” exclaimed jack in mock offence “I’m just a cautious driver, better to be safe than sorry!”

“No, you just don’t know how to take risks and have a little fun!” said Martha before quickly pulling away from him and running towards the bar. Jack laughed and followed.

They both entered smiling and made their way quickly to the table where everyone was sitting.

“Hi guys, sorry we’re late. Officer here is a bit slow with the car.” said Martha cheekily. Everyone laughed.

“No worries.” said Robbie, smiling at how well Jack and Martha were getting on. “We reserved seats for you.” He said gesturing towards two chairs in the corner.

I really loved that chapter, it was so sweet how Martha was being straight forward about their feelings towards one another. But we all know that if you can't have what you want, it makes you want it even more he he he!

linzie_mac01 said everything I wanted to say :) can't wait for more :)

Chapter 7

Martha stumbled out of Jack’s car slightly tipsy. Jack supported her and lead her to the door where Chris was standing, waiting expectantly for her. Martha leant in towards Jack and whispered.

“He doesn’t seem in such a good mood.” she laughed quietly as Jack looked up and saw that Chris, indeed, didn’t look very happy. He felt slightly apprehensive as he walked up the front steps. He could feel Chris’ eyes looking at him. As he reached the front door, Chris grabbed Martha roughly and pulled her towards him.

“Thank you, you can go now.” Chris said bluntly as he dragged Martha inside and started closing the door. Jack looked at him in surprise, but conceded.

“Ok, bye Martha!” he called inside. He then turned around and walked back towards his car. But as he was getting in he heard a scream followed by crying.

Inside the house, Martha was clutching her cheek as it went bright red. Chris looked down on her.

“Well, it’s what you deserve so don’t look at me like that!” he spat. “What time do you call this?? It’s 1:00 in the morning! I told you to be back at 10:00 and I certainly didn’t say that you could have Jack bloody Holden escorting you. Why didn’t you tell me he was going to be there? Thought you would trick me? Well I’m telling you now that that was a big mistake.” He ended sinisterly.

Jack looked back at the house but he couldn’t see anything. All the curtains were drawn and all that could be seen was the light. He thought about going back, but he wasn’t sure if he wouldn’t just make things worse, they were probably just having an argument, like any normal couple. Well that was what he tried to convince himself as he turned away and drove off.

Martha cried harder and started to shuffle backwards as Chris came towards her.

“No no please don’t Chris.” She pleaded looking up at him, but she knew that there was no convincing him when he was in this state.

“Don’t try and get out of this Martha. You made a mistake; you lied to me and now you’re going to give me something in return.” He leant down and stroked her cheek with one hand, whilst pulling her up with the other. Once in front of him he pushed his lips against hers and ignored her desperate attempts to escape.

OMG, what a disgusting creep!!!!!!!!! Chris needs to be in jail and they should lock away the key. What a sick guy, i really hope Martha gets away from him, i can't say anything nice at the moment because i'm still quite disgusted with him.

O.k that was a excellently written and for the chapter before that i really liked how they were laughing and joking like they were a couple without actually being one. I think i like the idea of them being friends first and it going from there.........Please update soon!
