Oh my god, they're so cute!!! Loved Matt being such a supportive big brother and not getting all awkward about things. Good that Ellie's being taught about this stuff in school, a far cry from what I was taught! Oh, I just want to give them both a hug! This made me so happy!

Great chapter. Interesting deal struck between Hunter and John. So he's Chris' replacement, is he? Wondering what happened with Ellie and Raffy?
-
Great chapter! Really liked all the boys supporting Kyle while he tries to learn to surf. It must be hard for him to admit to everyone that he was in care because, as he said, there are always more questions, and he obviously doesn't want to talk about his mum's death. Looking forward to the next chapter x

Love this! haha! Impressive understanding of Buddy's thought process, and I really can't blame him if he isn't a fan of Justin's wailing. Brody being worried about his sprouts! haha! And suggesting that Evie just go with it. I'm sure Mason will be jealous. Buddy had better watch out! This is great, so enjoying it!

Aw, so cute!

Great start Really enjoyed these two together. Looking forward to seeing where you take this.

Well, that was closure I guess... Interesting that Billie's encouraging VJ to give Tank the benefit of the doubt, something that worked out oh so well with Hunter. And Skye seems just as much the smitten little kitten that she was in her exit storyline, thoroughly blinded by love and willing to overlook all of Tank's past actions, so I guess we'll see how that works out. Interesting, that ending. I'm assuming that's baby Casey we're talking about?

Cute plan to prank the boys. we'll see how it plays out.

Haha! Lucky Evie! Getting a good leg humping in gratitude for her kindness and support! That's the groundwork set for a beautiful relationship, right there! Don't blame Buddy wanting a nice juicy rabbit over a bowl full of slop either. I've often thought about that when I've fed our dog.

Really interesting chapter! Loved it! Ray doesn't sound like he's much of a gangster or a hitman really. He doesn't really want to go through with this at all! Feel a bit sorry for him actually, especially because camping really doesn't sound like it's his cup of tea and he's gonna be stuck there for the foreseeable! So the guy who killed Kyle's mum is coming after him because he wants to tie up loose ends and make sure that Kyle can't identify him? Doesn't sound too good for Kyle! Looking forward to the next chapter x

Interesting insight into Ray. Two kids to feed? I'm intrigued to find out who he's working for and what they want with Kyle. Stuffing him in the boot of a car suggests that they really don't have good intentions. The girls certainly seem to have sorted everything out, while the boys all seemed a bit useless really The camp sounds like it looks pretty nice too with all the fairy lights. Looking forward to the next chapter.

Nice chapter! Loved all the interaction between the teens, especially everyone teasing Kyle and Phoebe about their public displays, and Sasha embarrassing Matt in front of everyone! lol! Love how she called him Matthew Sounds like the girls have some silly pranks planned for the guys too! Hope they don't backfire! That was a bit careless of Ray to bump into Matt like that! He's not great at this whole stake out thing, is he?! haha. Looking forward to the next chapter x

Cute scene with Xavier teasing Oscar. He seems like a bit of a worrier, doesn't he? Wondering who Ray is and what this is all about. You're really building up the suspense. Looking forward to the next chapter x

Great chapter. Really enjoyed the conversation between the two boys in the car. Nice little bit of insight into Kyle's arrival in the bay (the fact that he couldn't swim etc). I'm looking forward to finding out what happened to Kyle in foster care and I'm really curious about this Ray character and what he wants with Kyle. Looking forward to the next chapter x

Yeah, sorry, was obviously writing my comment while you were writing yours. Didn't see what you said about Jordan till after I'd posted it. Just hoping you'll keep him in it one way or another. (No pressure though, lol )
-
Great chapter Red Enjoyed Mason's scene with Olivia. You managed to make him seem vaguely likable here. Glad she's moving forward, literally. Pleased to see Jordan back. I really liked him and I was really disappointed when the show let him go. Didn't make sense to me at all. Looking forward to seeing where you take his character (again, such a pity you dont write for the show!) Interesting move to have Tank move in with Kat and Ash next door. Will Tank be taking Andy or Josh's room? I wonder what Evie will say. The guy who kidnapped her, nearly killed Josh, and was at least partially responsible for Oscar and Hannah's deaths?! (ignoring Roo's involvement of course, your story ). Should be interesting. Looking forward to the next chapter x P.s. Enjoy your trip

Thanks Red, I did worry a little that I might have pushed this one a bit too far Glad you enjoyed it!

Thanks Jarlie! So glad you liked it! We'll see if it becomes more than a one-shot. I'll have a think about it
-
Thanks Pembie! Thing is, I could so see Mason doing this! lol! Especially the dancing scene cos he's proper creepy and he always seems so in love with himself. It's probably not helped by the long lingering shots of Mason's biceps that they seem intent on shoving in our faces - kind of gives the impression that he's full of himself. Anyway, glad you liked it!

Interesting idea but I'm not sure it's the best way to get someone who's shy to open up about themselves. Being put on the spot like that, with an audience, is usually the best way to make someone clam up. Oh well, maybe he'll spin them some interesting stories

I might be wrong but I don't think we actually got much information about these 'good foster parents'? I remember him saying that they were 'big on education' but that could mean a lot of things, and not necessarily good things. Melody's mother was big on education but she was also a crazy controlling nightmare who drove her daughter into a total nervous breakdown. Annie and Geoff's grandfather was big on 'education' too but he was also pretty handy with his belt. Kyle's time with his foster parents may not have been the best. Did we ever find out more than that? (I honestly can't remember). I know he told Tamara that he didn't care where his foster parents were, and that he didn't want to see them, so I'm not sure that he had the greatest relationship with them. That said, you're right about them not building enough of his backstory. We needed to understand him more, if only because I would have loved him to have more screentime. The show really dropped the ball in that regard.

I wrote it as a one shot but I'm contemplating turning it into a short story cos I do have a few ideas to continue it. I could be persuaded Glad you liked it! x

I think this is a pretty perfect analysis of Kyle's character development. Couldn't agree more. I think the events in the desert could be viewed as a sort of mental breakdown in the aftermath of his father's death. He may not have had that close a relationship with Danny but that doesn't mean that he didn't want and crave one. Having good foster parents doesn't mean that he was well adjusted or that he had coped well with the loss of his mother. I think it's clear that he always felt lost and neglected, and like he'd been rejected as second best. Casey killing Danny, the only real family he felt he had left, proved too much for him to handle. The fact that Casey seemed to be showing no remorse (at least as far as Kyle could see) was what tipped him over the edge. It's not much different from Aden's meltdown really. Once he came to live with Brax and the boys though, we saw him desperately trying to fit in, and following them around like a lost puppy. Probably much like he did with Danny before he died. For me, Kyle was always a tortured soul, who was desperate for love from whatever source he could get it. The Braxton boys never really delivered on that either, and he was always scrambling about on the outside of their circle looking for scraps. He was a tragic hero, sad and lonely to the end, and that's why I love him so much.

Thanks Kristen I was a bit worried it might be a little too dark. Glad you enjoyed it though. x

Glad Brett got arrested and Jimmy didn't get in trouble. Liked Brett's description of Irene too although I'm sure she'd have given him a clip round the ear if she'd heard him! Haha.
