  1. Thanks Red! Glad you liked it! I think Andy was very understanding in his reaction, but I think that was actually pretty true to character. I think he'd just want Josh to be happy, no matter what. Even if that meant shacking up with Oscar! And yeah, the inverted commas might be going soon enough! Haha.
  2. I really liked this chapter. I really feel for Heath and can completely understand why he doesn't want to go to the grave. It's all still too raw for him. Celebrating Kyle's birthday, now that he's dead, when they didn't celebrate before, is like rubbing salt in the wound. Poor Heath. I would go with option 2. I like that one the most but they're all good
  3. Ok, so I'm just going to throw this question open to anyone who thinks the explosion was Andy's fault: What would be your view if Irene had been drunk at the fundraiser (like she was at Zac and Leah's wedding), and she had stumbled forcefully into the gas canisters and knocked them over? In this scenario, she just knocked them over, and then stumbled off home, resulting in the same explosion and the same death toll. It was then discovered, exactly as in the show, that Roo didn't bother her backside to do the proper checks, and that she'd been using expired tanks from shifty suppliers. Irene shouldn't have been in a 'behind the scenes' area downing her bottles of vodka, and she shouldn't have left without telling people what she'd done. Roo shouldn't have created such a hazardous set up in the first place, and as the event organiser she should have cordoned off any area that was potentially unsafe for people to be. So I suppose the question is: are you team Roo, or team Irene, if this was what had happened? Would you still think that Irene was responsible? Would she deserve maybe 25 years for manslaughter (if that's the going rate these days)? I'm just interested. Does it make a difference to you when it's a 'nice person' who caused the accident? Is it more difficult to decide when you have to choose between two 'nice' characters or are you still certain that the blame lies entirely with the person that knocked them over?
  4. Thanks Pembie! very messy indeed! Lol! Sorry it's been so long since the last update, I've been a bit busy. Hoping to have a new chapter in the next day or two. Thanks for reading x
  5. Was the area cordoned off? Were there barriers that they had to climb over? How was it designated as an area that was off bounds?
  6. Hugo: According to the character summary on BTTB - "Lou had seen the boat that Hugo and Derrick Quaid had been using for the people smuggling operation and Derrick had shot him so he couldn’t identify them. Hugo had boarded Lou’s boat to investigate and Lou had recovered enough to stab him, with Hugo knocking him into the water during the struggle." I don't see how that's any different to Josh struggling with Charlotte when she tried to shoot him, or how Hugo leaving Lou to wash up like trash while allowing Irene to go to prison for it, is different from Josh's actions. Excusing Hugo's part in the deaths of 12 immigrants that he was directly involved in smuggling (in extremely inhumane conditions) seems strange. But we're happy to blame Andy for accidentally and unknowingly breaking a valve on a substandard gas cylinder that hadn't been installed properly? Okaaay?.... Hugo might not have shot the immigrants in the head but they did die while being smuggled and in my view he is responsible for their deaths. And he showed absolutely no remorse for anything that he'd done! He was also most definitely guilty of a very serious assault against Charlie (Tank went to prison for a lot less). Josh killing Charlotte was an accident and should have been ruled self defense. Angelo said that he was being shot at (no one saw that but us), Josh was struggling with Charlotte who pulled a gun on him. Much the same thing. Josh didn't go and get a gun or a knife and go there to kill Charlotte. He didn't go into her bag to find her gun and pull it on her. He accidentally shot her in a struggle in which he could equally have ended up dead (which might have been Charlotte's intention). Andy did murder Jake Pirovic and for that he should gave gone to prison. Anyway, we'll never agree about Andy, and that's okay. People have very different views and perceptions of things. If we like certain people and have invested in the characters we're much more willing to excuse them their poor decisions. Maybe I'm wrong, but I suspect that, had it turned out that Oscar had killed Charlotte in the same way as Josh did, and taken the same course of action, we'd be having a very different conversation. And to be honest, I would have forgiven him too. p.s. sorry for the strange font here. I don't mean to seem like I'm shouting . It doesn't give me the option to change the font back to normal through my phone.
  7. I'm sorry to hear that, Red! I'm not really sure that it's true to say that this isn't Home and Away though. They have done things like this before, many many times over. Hugo and Martha spring to mind as a perfect example. I mean, Hugo was a mass murderer unless I'm badly mistaken, who was not only responsible for the deaths of 12 Indonesian immigrants but also Lou De Bono, and he almost let Irene go to prison for him. They allowed him to run away with Martha and live 'happily ever after' on the run. Roman on the other hand, killed one of his fellow soldiers in order to protect the rest of his unit (if memory serves) and while he did cover it up, it could have been viewed under 'self defence' (defined as protecting oneself or others from legitimate danger). He ended up with an unreasonably heavy sentence too (someone said it was a life sentence???!) just because the show wanted rid of him. That was just as ridiculous as Josh getting 25 years for manslaughter. Then there are so many examples of characters being given exceptionally lenient sentences just like Hunter's. Aden got a bit of community service for kidnap, false imprisonment, and attempted murder, Casey hardly did any time for his father's murder - just 2 off the top of my head. A few scenes of picking up rubbish and nothing more said about it. And what about Angelo killing Jack? Gets to come back and be the town's policeman again. He killed Jack and covered it up too. Was he any better or worse than Josh? Why did he get to swan off into the sunset with Nicole and a cute little baby? Hunter nearly killed his whole family in a house fire and covered it up, showing absolutely no remorse and nearly letting Billie go to prison for it, and he tried to stab Andy to death in front of police officers, and all he got was a suspended sentence?! Josh, 25 years for manslaughter?! Seriously?! So, I suppose my point is that they've always let some characters away with murder (literally) and kicked others firmly in the nuts whether they deserved it or not. Maybe you could view the most recent wave of exits as a cull and think of the show as having a fresh slate now that the Braxton and Barrett era is over? I know that Ray Meagher wanted the show to go in a different direction. Maybe that's what this bloodletting was all about? Maybe they wanted to get rid of all the old characters in a short time frame to start afresh? Oscar's exit should have been handled differently. I agree with you there, so I wonder what was going on behind the scenes... I'm not sure what the plan is now that there's hardly any of the old cast left but I reckon I'll keep on watching anyway and see where they take it...
  8. Really great start! That would be horrible for Heath! Thinking for a few fleeting moments that Kyle wasn't really dead, only to wake up and find that the nightmare of his death was really true. Poor Heath. Looking forward to seeing where you take this
  9. Thanks Jarlie! The Oscar and Billie scene was kind of sweet, even if it was completely ridiculous. VJ did well too, to contain his amusement, and behave like a grown up! Glad you're enjoying the story so far! x
  10. Thanks RR1! This whole thing is getting supremely silly, lol! Glad you liked the Billie and Oscar scene. I thought it would be nice to have him 'sort of' remember something when he saw her. And yeah, Josh is really throwing himself into his 'role' with gusto, isn't he?! I suppose at a certain point you might have to stop caring that people are laughing at you (or pretend not to care), especially if you have no real choice in what you're doing. As I said though, this is all just really silly, but I'm enjoying writing it so much! So, again, thanks for taking the time to comment! x
  11. Yeah, Josh is getting a little carried away, I think! And more than a little confused! Lol! Maddy walking in on her two ex-boyfriends making out like that would have been quite the shock, haha! I reckon she'll be keeping a close eye on Matt now, just in case! Evie being jealous is thoroughly understandable but also pretty unreasonable given that she all but shoved Josh into her brother's bed and expected him to just get on with it. Josh has been more than 'accommodating'! I'm pretty sure most boyfriends would think it was a very unreasonable request in the first place. What will Andy think of all this?!
  12. Thanks Kristen Glad you liked it. This chapter was a bit more sad than the previous ones. Finding out about Hannah like that would be horrible for Oscar, but it's just forced him and Josh even closer together. Josh is in an incredibly difficult position now! How's he going to get himself out of this mess now?! As always, really appreciate the feedback x
  13. Thanks Pembie! It is a very weird story... and it's only going to get weirder! I loved that image in my own head of Oscar sitting there in his jammies waiting for Josh to get there. I actually think that Oscar could look quite cute with the right makeup and hair, lol! Maddy having to put it on for him would be very strange for her but I think she had enough caring and sensitivity to do it kindly. I could imagine it as quite a tender moment between them! lol! The whole thing is absurd though! haha! Glad you're enjoying it! x
  14. Thanks Jarlie! So glad you're enjoying it! Josh has really got the tough job here! It's understandable that he'd be uncomfortable with this whole thing but really quite funny to imagine! Thanks for the feedback x
  15. Thanks Kristen! Glad you liked it! I think everyone is just doing their best to help him as best they can. I don't know how you'd do it though, lol! Even Leah wasn't able to keep a straight face completely! Haha!
  16. Thanks KittCatt! Really glad you liked it. I have to say I was actually giggling while I was writing certain bits of this one. I think Josh is doing an ok job, considering. It was a pretty big leap climbing into bed with Oscar, and it's certainly proof of his love for Evie. I think she should be pretty touched that he's willing to do this for her, as twisted as the whole thing is! Lol
  17. Thanks RR1! Glad you're enjoying it! I'm having so much fun writing this. Such a weird situation! Lol! I don't think VJ would be mature enough to deal with something like this, and let's face it, most people's natural reaction to something this weird would be to laugh. It's not really his fault. Thanks as always for the feedback x
  18. Thanks Pembie! Glad you liked it! It's weird alright! Lol! Sometimes, I wonder what's going on in this head of mine! Poor Josh! Things are about to get very complicated for him!
  19. Thanks everyone for the lovely comments! It's certainly different from my other stories anyway! If something like this really happened, it would definitely prove a difficult situation to deal with for all involved. How do you really go along with something like this without feeling absolutely ridiculous and making a right show of yourself?! Especially Josh, as he's going to find himself in situations that make him decidedly uncomfortable, lol! Glad you liked it!
  20. Jeez, I'm in floods of tears here So very very sad, but really beautiful too. All the flashbacks were really touching, and its lovely to see all the happy memories that his friends and family had of him. I feel terrible for Heath though. It would be horrible to carry that kind of guilt around and not be able to do anything about it. Really enjoyed this story Thanks for sharing it with us! Looking forward to your next one. x My favourite scene was the one with Casey and baby Harley. So sweet but I also thought the one with Heath sitting on Kyle was very powerful. Terrible for Heath to have to think that he did that, and how that must have made Kyle feel. Again, something he can't change now
  21. Great chapter! love Hunter Bear and Silly Rabbit once again! So cute! Feel a bit sorry for VJ but it's true that that is usually the case. Most people have their favourites. Ooh, things are really heating up now, aren't they?! How frightening for little Charlie (and everyone else!) Sneaky sneaky Peter! Glad VJ was able to tell them it was him though. Wonder how he'll fake being in Cairns, and what he's planning to do with that gun?! Looking forward to the next chapter. x
  22. I wanted to post that, but I've only seen snippets of Bates Motel, I'm glad someone else spotted that I've never seen Bates Motel. Worth watching?
  23. Awww! Thanks Pembie! So glad you enjoyed it! Like I said above, it's been so much fun to write. My other stories have been a lot more serious and sincere but to be fair Blind Sided also had a psychopathic murderer in it, and Harmony is very very dark. As I said, I don't really watch horror films, but my stories have a way of leaning in that direction! Haha! Hunted kind of brought elements of those other stories together but made them funny! I never thought I'd be able to write comedy, but it was a lot of fun, so I'm going to give it a go with the next one! Thanks so much for reading! x
  24. Thank you to everyone for taking the time to comment throughout this fanfiction! You guys are great I really enjoyed writing this one because it was such a change from the other things I've written. It was nice being able to poke a bit of fun at the current storylines and take things to the extreme a little bit (or a lot). Hunter is proper loony tunes bonkers in this and that was so much fun to write! As was, Oscar and the others torturing Andy! lol! I'm a little sad that it's finished but I'm just going to pretend that Hunter is still at it, slowly making his way through the residents of Summer Bay, and pinning the blame on others. You'd need to watch out with someone like him around! Maybe it's that you spilt coffee on him, or maybe it's that you got the last slice of mudcake in the diner when he really wanted it, but one thing's for sure, you don't want to be on Hunter's naughty list! lol! Again, thanks everyone! On to my next story...
  25. Great chapter! Feel bad for Hunter. Not fair that he's being set up like this. Hope the cops figure out that it isn't true. The relationship between Hunter and Charlie is so cute! love the nicknames! So sweet. Looking forward to the next chapter!
