I guess they’ve been considering this a while with 5STAR being in the correct blocks. I think they said Eggheads will air at 7pm, so I wonder what will be on at 6.30pm on Channel 5?

It makes sense, ratings aren’t great and in the new world of streaming, timeshift etc… airing the same episode twice a day on the same channel seems very outdated, just hopefully it doesn’t have a negative effect on Neighbours. I watch the first look anyway.

Sadly this has seemed to have happened with a few ex-Home and Away actors and ends any hope of success in the US they may have had.

I noticed that, but had put it down to them being part of the Surf Club “Family” - John typically has scenes with Mac, Willow and Dean, so if you take Willow out then Jasmine steps in so it makes sense. Overall I just think that it’s a lack of their usual scene partners: For Jasmine you also have her trying to give Tori space and Colby in prison. John & Marilyn are being kept apart, the SBH residents are tied up in the Kieran story and Mac & Dean are tied up with Colby & the Paratas.

I really don’t understand why Kieran isn’t Alf’s son, it would make the story more interesting in my opinion.

I think so, although we’re still brushing over Alf marrying Ailsa (twice) despite knowing Martha was still alive.

I really hope Martha puts her own stamp on Summer Bay House, the art department have gradually changed the dining table and chairs - they painted the legs of the dining table to match the kitchen cabinets and now have bought chairs to match, that looks great now, although that table is huge. They really need to replace those awful red walls - even if the living room is quite a close colour to the interior of the real house.

Why does only one table in the diner have a tablecloth/runner? It’s also the Diner equivalent of the Central Park sofa, it’s the senior cast table, Alf, Roo, Martha etc... who often occupy it all day with one cup of tea or coffee.

I must admit, I’m quite enjoying seeing Colby’s World gradually fall apart. It’s a shame, I liked the idea of him being a cop getting away from the River Boy World but they’ve given him the reverse of the typical River Boy story - the good River Boy gone bad.

I couldn’t help thinking during Alf & Martha’s argument, what’s keeping Alf in the Bay really, his businesses manage without him 6 months of the year anyway on and off.

I’m not sure what the point of bringing back Angelo to fill this generic cop role, aside from him getting information out of Irene which might have happened anyway, his history in the bay hasn’t really been brought up. I was expecting at least something Martha related... I don’t know whose side I’m meant to be on in Angelo vs Colby but they’re both coming out of this pretty badly.

Can someone please decide a consistent pronunciation for Tane’s name? Mac in particilar seems to use at least three different pronunciations per episode.

Haha, I did think there were only three bedrooms when I saw that corridor, but it was so quick I couldn’t be sure I hadn’t missed one. Gemma obviously has a suite on the opposite side of the house.

The Parata house is really confusing me, I thought the door near the kitchen was the back door as Nik used that door to check out the pool, but then there’s been scenes of people entering that door from the front exterior and exiting via that door to go elsewhere.

Four weddings if you count her vow renewal to Dan. Is it 6 fiancees? Ted, Vinnie, Dan, Elijah, Zac & (by force) Douglas. I’d care more about Ben & Maggie’s relationship drama if he hadn’t just moved out & back in. They’ve also been through her cancer, him saying he couldn’t live without her, then his depression and come through both (almost). Would this break them?

I agree, there was more that should have been said onscreen. I think they just wanted to gloss over it all to not alienate new viewers who don’t know Bobby or Ailsa.

It’s really weird watching the Leah storyline as I’m filling the programming gaps with classic Home and Away and am at the Viv/Rev Newton story so it seems like I’m watching a very similar story 30 years apart.

Was there every a point in the show before Carly left that she addressed drinking again? In her return for Sally’s departure she’s seen drinking but in her original stint she spoke to Andrew Foley about not being able to ever have a drink again. During the Mirigini disaster she’s seen with orange juice, although it could be Bucks Fizz.
