Extended Summary

Justin and Xander are setting up Salt for the memorial. Justin places a large photo of Felicity on a stand, which he says Mackenzie arranged. Theo and Remi turn up with John; Xander didn’t know they were playing but Remi says you can’t have a festival without music. He lingers to look at the photo for a few moments before going to help Theo set up. At the farm house, Mackenzie is on the phone to Levi, checking Abigail is settling in all right at his mum’s. She tells Perri he can come to the memorial but Perri thinks he’s more use covering Tane at the gym. Mackenzie tries to reassure Tane.

At the graveyard, Cash and Gary join two pallbearers in carrying Felicity’s coffin to the burial place. Eden stands by with some bunches of flowers and places two of them on the graves of Cash and Felicity’s parents. Later, Gary delivers a eulogy, noting he and Cash never knew whether to stop Felicity, help her or get out of the way. He says he could talk about her rebellious teenage years but they weren’t the best times, so instead he talks about her turning up on his doorstep, inviting him to her wedding or just calling to say hi, and getting to see the happy young woman she grew into. He recalls how excited she was when she called to tell him about Cash and Eden getting engaged (which is clearly news to them), saying he promised never to admit she told him first. He says they’ll miss her and carry her with them.

Perri arrives at the gym to find Carl waiting for him. Carl says he thought something had happened to Perri when he didn’t show up. Perri says he’s eighteen and doesn’t have to do what Carl says anymore. Carl asks if that’s what Tane told him, saying Tane’s no better than them: He was only in trouble with the police recently and one wrong move would land him in jail.

Alf and Leah arrive upstairs to join Justin, talking about the turn-out. Bree also arrives and Remi beckons her over. He joins Kirby in telling John, Theo and Xander a story about how they were performing a gig in the middle of nowhere and worried no-one would turn up when Felicity appeared with a bus full of locals she’d dragged out of the nearby pubs. Mackenzie and Tane arrive and are greeted by Harper. Tane looks at Felicity’s photo in silence for a moment before walking out.

Harper follows Tane downstairs and he says he can’t be up there. Perri and Carl enter mid-argument, with Perri continuing to insist he isn’t going with Carl. Tane walks over and tries to tell Carl to leave. Perri and Harper both try to calm Tane down. Carl goads Tane, wondering why Perri’s loyal to him and why a grown man would take in a troubled young boy. Perri announces he’ll go with Carl after all.

Up in Salt, Justin, Theo, Remi and Kirby discuss being ready to perform. Kirby goes to tell Xander, then joins Alf, John, Leah, Mackenzie and Bree, who are reflecting on how Felicity would put anyone in their place and how they only fought because they cared. Harper hurries up and grabs Rose from the bar, saying Tane’s about to do something stupid.

Tane follows Carl and Perri outside and tries to stop them leaving, saying Carl will get Perri sent to jail. Carl tries to dare Tane to hit him but then Rose and Harper arrive. Rose orders Carl to calm down while Harper leads Tane away, saying he has too much to lose. Tane doesn’t think he has so Harper tells him she’s pregnant and he’s going to be a dad.

Remi and Kirby chat to John, Bree and Mackenzie about how, when Cash and Eden first started hooking up, Remi tried to run interference with Felicity but she thought he was hitting on her so tried to let him down gently…by telling him his guitar playing was mediocre at best. The pair join Theo on stage and (with Justin on back-up guitar) perform Memories.

Eden gives the flowers to Cash and he places them on Felicity’s coffin as it is lowered into the grave. Gary retreats and Cash hugs and kisses Eden before recalling the last thing Felicity said to him was that she and he could be happy and he believed her. He tells Eden they’re over: Everything he loves ends up buried there. Eden tries to protest but Cash tells her to take the car and go. She reluctantly does so, with Gary looking on disapprovingly. Later, Gary approaches Cash at the graveside and tells him Eden has gone. Cash is glad but Gary thinks this is a mistake that he’ll regret. Cash insists otherwise.

Carl, Rose, Tane, Harper and Perri head back into the surf club. Carl insists this is Perri’s last chance as two police officers arrive. Perri says he wants to lay assault charges against Carl. Carl protests innocence but Rose says they’ll sort it out at the station. Carl is taken away by the police and Rose and Perri follow. Tane tells Harper they need to talk.

Tane and Harper head into the gym office where Harper says she’s thirteen weeks and has known for about two months. Tane is aghast she’s kept quiet for so long. Harper says she was trying to find the right moment to tell him. Tane asks if she thought that was it. Harper says she wanted it to be a happy moment. Tane just glares silently at her until she leaves, saying to let her know when he’s ready to talk.

Theo, Kirby and Remi are performing another song. Alf congratulates Xander, while Xander passes it on to Justin and Justin says it was Mackenzie. Alf and Leah both agree the town needed to say goodbye. Tane comes up, downs a glance of champagne and asks Mackenzie for something harder. He explains Harper’s pregnant. Mackenzie initially thinks he’s worried about a friend before Tane explains he’s the father and to keep the drinks coming. Later, Remi and Bree are back at the Lyrik house, noting they feel a bit better now. At that moment, Eden arrives and tells them Cash broke up with her. Remi hugs her as she sobs uncontrollably.

Harper is sat on her bed, leaving a phone message for Dana to call her. Tane bangs on the back door and Harper lets him in. Harper realises he’s drunk. Tane confirms he is and says he has questions.
