Extended Summary

Tori asks Leah when she and Justin are going to renew their vows so she’ll have an excuse to come back. VJ shows Irene a letter from Luc asking when she’s going to come and visit. John stops by to tell them he’s heard from Jett and Lindsey is out of surgery. Out of view of the others, Justin talks to Theo with Valerie watching from a distance. Theo eventually admits to the drugs but tries to downplay it. Justin says drugs nearly destroyed his and Brody’s lives and demands Valerie get out. Theo protests that it’s not her fault and she’s Leah’s friend him Justin says he’s doing it for her. After he’s walked away, Valerie approaches Theo and takes Theo aside.

At the police station, Sergeant Callan asks Rose why Sonia Rickard didn’t know her baby was missing. Rose says she was waiting for confirmation Sonia was the baby’s mother. Callan says he’s filled her in and asks Rose how far she’s got. Rose says she’s got an arrest warrant and phone trace organised and that she hasn’t had Tane on the news because she doesn’t want to scare him off. Callan thinks he could be leaving the country. Rose points out there’s an alert on his passport and the feds know but Callan insists on looking at the case file.

A number of people are dancing including Leah, Justin, VJ, Ava, Kirby, Eden, John and Tori. Alf asks Roo if there’s any word on the baby before inviting her to dance. Out of view, Theo tells Valerie that Kirby told Justin about the drugs. He tells her she needs to get rid of them. Valerie protests that she needs them and they have just paid money for them. Theo asks if she wants somewhere to live. Remi appears to fetch Theo. They join the rest of the band and Theo changes what they’re singing. As everyone dances to the new song, Valerie considers dropping the pills down a drain, but instead takes two pills out and hides the rest in a guitar case.

Later, Eden tells Remi to lay off the drink since he’s the designated driver. Remi wonders when that was decided and Kirby realises they didn’t think this through. They consider asking Theo to drive them but Eden instead asks John to give them all a lift home and then drive them back to collect the van and their equipment the next day. John agrees…so long as they pay for a tank of petrol.

Rose gets a phone call and tells Callan that the DNA test has confirmed Sonia is Poppy’s mother. Callan has noticed from the search warrant in the file that Mali is Tane’s housemate. Rose denies that has affected her decisions but Callan thinks she was doing a favour for a friend. He tells her that he’s taking over the case himself and will address the media in the morning. Later, he is holding a briefing. When Rose looks through the window, he closes the blinds on her.

Tori is sat with Alf, Irene and Roo and comments that she’s missed the Bay, although the beaches in Kent are stunning. She says she’s only there for the night but the family are spending it in a villa. She looks over at Leah and Justin dancing, noting they look happy. Leah and Justin address each other as husband and wife, before Justin asks what he got wrong. Leah says the wedding was perfect but warns him that he’s set himself a high bar.

John brings Kirby, Remi and Eden home. He wants to stay to go over the wedding’s highlights but Remi points out he did that twice on the way back and Eden shows him out. Eden senses Kirby has something on her mind. Sensing a heart to heart, Remi leaves them to it. Eden asks Kirby if this has something to do with Theo. Kirby doesn’t give her any details but says Justin knows and she hopes he can help.

Theo and Valerie arrive back at the Morgan house. Valerie is concerned that Lyrik left all their equipment behind but Theo has other things on his mind and checks she got rid of the pills. He tells her about Justin wanting her out but insists that he can change his mind. Valerie reveals she took two pills from the stash and Theo takes one. Next day, Theo turns up at the Lyrik house and finds Kirby there alone. He has a go at her for talking to Justin but Kirby says she was just trying to help him. Eden interrupts and tries to get answers but neither is talking.

Leah and Justin are saying goodbye to Tori, VJ and Ava over at the Morgan house. VJ says he’s going to check in with Jett and meet Lindsey before he goes. Ava calls Leah “stepmother” with Leah noting that “Leah” sounds less evil. She wonders if she should postpone the honeymoon to spend time with VJ and Justin tells her it’s not an option.

Eden and Remi continue to watch Kirby and Theo’s stand-off. Eden wonders if this is to do with last night. Theo thinks Kirby has told her and Kirby says she hasn’t. Remi gets a text from Stevie arranging to meet and takes the opportunity to bail. Theo wants to go too but gets accosted by a newly-arrived John before he can.

Later, Theo is driving Eden and Kirby back in the van, with the mood tense. They pass Rose and another officer running a speed trap. Rose recognises the van and notices the brake light is out, deciding to warn them. Kirby is trying to get Theo to admit there’s a problem. Rose signals for them to pull over. Theo tenses up and instead increases speed. Eden and Kirby try to get him to stop as Rose calls in the pursuit.

John arrives at the Diner and tells Alf, Irene and Roo that two couples have contacted him to ask about his services as a celebrant. However, they’re watching the media conference on the phone, where Callan shows CCTV footage and a photo of Tane, saying he’s wanted in connection with the kidnapping of a four-month-old baby. Meanwhile, Tane is sat in a house with Poppy, cooing over her and seemingly ignoring the wider issue, despite an awkward look.

Theo has pulled over and Rose breathalyses him, before wondering what’s going on. She explains about the brake light. Eden and Kirby try to convince her to let them go but Rose says failing to pull over is a serious offence and she’s going to search the van, saying she can’t rely on the fact they’re friends today. She and the other officer search it and Rose finds the pills in the guitar case, asking them to explain them.
