Extended Summary

Justin runs into Tori on the beach after a surf. They exchange mock-casual dialogue about something big happening today before Justin hugs her, soaking her in the process. Shortly after, they are walking through a park area. Justin wonders why Tori didn’t bring Grace even though Christian had to work and Tori says she didn’t fancy wrangling a toddler on a 23 hour flight. They run into Remi and Eden, and Justin asks them if they’ve set everything up and if they’ve heard from Theo, leaving Tori to introduce herself. Eden says Theo called to say he’s on the way. After Justin and Tori have gone, Remi asks why she lied and Eden says it’s Wedding 101 not to stress out the bride and groom.

Irene and Marilyn are getting everything ready at the beach house. Marilyn gets a text from John and goes to meet him at the Diner. She worries it’s about VJ not coming. John hadn’t heard about that and says he’s heard from Jett; Lindsey has been in a car accident and is in surgery. He wants to go and support Jett but he’s the celebrant. Marilyn says she’ll go and thinks Leah won’t notice she isn’t there.

At the Morgan house, Justin and Tori are happily greeting Ava. Tori says it’s only a flying visit before she visits Raffy and Brody. Theo and Valerie arrive and Justin rather sharply asks where they’ve been. Theo only gives a vague response. He tells Ava that Valerie’s his girlfriend and introduces her and Tori to Valerie. Valerie takes a photo of the four of them.

Alf and Roo join Leah, Irene and Marilyn at the beach house. Irene quietly asks Roo about Tane and the baby and Roo says not to focus on that today. Alf gives Leah a necklace. Leah is upset that VJ isn’t going to be there so Alf volunteers to walk her down the aisle.

John is organising things at a large country estate, practising his lines. Irene and Leah are in the front row. Eden, Remi and Kirby arrive, followed by Justin, Theo, Tori, Ava and Valerie. Justin checks Theo is okay to be best man. John asks Justin why he didn’t tell him VJ wasn’t coming. Justin takes him aside, saying he was trying to prepare Leah in case things didn’t work out. Meanwhile, Alf and Leah draw up in the wedding car. Alf tells Leah he’s not going to walk her down the aisle. VJ steps out from behind a hedge and says he is. Leah says she thought he wasn’t coming. VJ suspects Justin was trying to surprise her.

Alf sits next to Roo at the ceremony and gives John a brief thumbs up. John steps out of view as Leah appears with VJ, joining Justin and Theo at the front. John steps out and Leah is surprised that he’s the celebrant. John insists he’s got it all under control and has a surprise of his own: Tori is going to say something. Tori says she was asked to do a reading but couldn’t find anything that was right so has gone rogue. She talks about how Justin’s many things to many people and he’s always been a rock to their family, calling him and Leah the perfect couple.

John invites Leah and Justin to say their vows. Leah asks to go first, saying she’ll be a mess once Justin has finished. She says she’ll love him fiercely and loyally during the everyday, the extraordinary and when it’s not easy. She thanks him for never giving up on them, even when she asked him to. Justin tells her that she’s made him happier than he thought possible, her love gives him hope, she props him up when she needs him to and, through joy and pain, he’ll remain by her side. Leah confirms she’s a mess. John pronounces them husband and wife and they kiss. They walk through a gauntlet of confetti-throwing friends before Justin announces they’re going to party.

Shortly after, the group have retired to a reception area located somewhere else in the grounds, with a long table set for a meal and a stage area. Theo introduces Leah and Justin. Kirby greets Ava before trying to challenge Theo, asking where he’s been. Valerie says it’s none of her business and Kirby replies that she wasn’t talking to her. Theo says not to do this now. John sits with Alf, Irene and Roo and tells them he’s been asked for his business card and this could be a new career for him. Leah asks Justin about the note referring to a VJ issue. Justin says it was just about who got him from the airport and Leah protests that he worried her for nothing. Justin says it serves her right for snooping. He joins Lyrik up on stage and starts singing, with them joining in on a refrain of “We’ll grow old together”.

Some time later, Theo is leading the band in performing. Justin is dancing with Leah, and VJ with Ava. John tries to get Irene to dance with him but she says she’s had enough. Tori volunteers to dance with him instead. John dips her and warns her not to go rogue again. Theo announces a short break. Justin notices Theo and Valerie slipping away.

Valerie offers Theo some pills, suggesting they’ll make him an even better best man. Theo protests it’s his aunt’s wedding and tells her to put them away as Justin approaches. Justin gets Valerie to leave them, then asks Theo what’s going on. Theo asks what about. Justin says about Theo stealing from him to buy drugs.
