Extended Summary

Remi sets up his guitar outside the surf club and starts playing, gathering a crowd. Felicity listens in enthusiastically from the balcony at Salt. Near the beach, Tane is leading a class sparring, with Harper partnering him. Harper protests this is meant to be a warm-up as Tane tells everyone not to slack off. Felicity continues to dance to the music.

Cash asks Eden why she suddenly wants to go away. Eden tries to avoid the question and Cash guesses it’s to do with her being mad at Levi. He tells her he can’t go away at the moment because of Felicity, given how she was last night, leaving Eden frustrated. At the Diner flat, Xander and Bree have a short debrief on the previous day. Bree says she saw her counsellor and has come to a decision. Rose appears and Xander says he has something to run by them both: He wants to organise a fundraiser for SCAD research. They both think it’s a good idea and agree to help organise it if he gets the okay from Felicity. Xander heads off to work and the others head off for a coffee.

At Salt, Felicity readily agrees to Xander’s idea and he says to leave it with him. Felicity gives Remi a big breakfast on the house to thank him for the tunes. Eden arrives and complains about Cash refusing to go away. Felicity realises it’s because of her. Eden admits it is but doesn’t blame her. Felicity says she’s got over her wobble and will sort it.

Downstairs, Tane and Harper return from the workout. Felicity and Tane give each other another look as she walks past. Harper realises something has happened. Tane talks about her coming over to help pack things for Mackenzie and how they had a moment which he shut down. Harper wonders if it’s really over. Tane says it is: He just needs to find a way to stop loving her.

Felicity arrives home and calls out to Cash, telling him she spoke to Eden. Cash catches on and Felicity reminds him she’s in a better place now than she was six weeks ago or even one, so he should go. Meanwhile, Bree and Rose are chatting on the beach when Xander approaches them. He tells them about getting the go-ahead from Felicity for the fundraiser so he’s having a preliminary meeting to discuss it at two o’clock. Tane and Harper are walking through a park area. Tane notes that distance hasn’t worked with taking his mind off Felicity and neither has throwing himself into work. Harper suggests he take the pressure off and let it happen.

Back at Salt, Remi helps himself to Eden’s leftovers and guesses she wants to go away because of Levi. Eden explains about him insisting on continuing to visit Mackenzie. Remi suggests that’s pretty decent but Eden considers it just doing his job. Remi suggests she wants to avoid him because really she wants him in her life but Eden says it’s because he keeps making her look bad with her friends. Remi gets a call from Bree and leaves as Cash arrives. Cash tells Eden they can go away and ask her where she wants to go. Eden leaves it up to him.

Bree and Remi meet up downstairs. She tells him about her counselling session and how it helped her realise that she needs to get out of her comfort zone and try new things. She’s not sure if she’s brave enough to do that but Remi thinks she is. Remi heads home to find Eden packing her bag. She admits she has no idea where she’s going or how long for but is fine with that, so long as they have a big hotel bed and a cocktail bar with happy hour.

Felicity notices Cash has dug out his old rucksack and gives him some snacks. Eden comes over with two bags and Cash says she’s not going to need all of that. They say their goodbyes to Felicity, whose face falls somewhat after they’ve gone as she looks at her wedding photo on the side. At Salt, Tane and Harper are getting drinks from the bar; Tane looks at his wedding ring for a moment. They join Xander, Rose and Bree for the fundraiser discussion. Xander proposes a dinner outside and Rose suggests calling it Salt by the Sea, while Bree suggests live music and Harper suggests a cocktail bar. Bree gets a text from Remi and has to go. Xander tells the others they have to organise the bar, the entertainment and the menu.

Bree exits the surf club to be greeted by Remi with his motorbike and a spare helmet and leather jacket, reminding her she’s meant to be getting out of her comfort zone. Bree is very reluctant, reminding him how she feels about motorbikes, but Remi convinces her to trust him. As they speed along the road, Bree is soon smiling and stretching out a hand to feel the breeze. They pull up by a cove. Bree is fired up by the experience and tells Remi she wants to work for Doctors Without Borders and wants him to come with her.

Remi and Bree head back to the Diner flat with Bree excitedly talking about going to a far-off country to use her skills. Remi tells her he’s in. Meanwhile, Cash and Eden pull up at a remote spot in the bush by a river. Cash suggests setting up the tent nearby. Eden is thrown: She thought they were going to a hotel and this was just a picnic spot before going on. Cash gets her to listen to the quiet and reminds her she wanted to get away from everything.

Bree and Remi look up Red Cross and Doctors Without Borders positions on a laptop, Bree wonders how Lyrik will manage and Remi says they’re flexible. Bree says some of the posts have non-medical positions for him. Remi wonders why he’d need one and Bree explains the average posting lasts nine to twelve months. Remi gets a bit of a rabbit in the headlights look and says he’ll leave her to her research, leaving the flat looking shocked.
