Extended Summary

Remi is practising the guitar at home and explains to Eden that he needs the gig to work out for Bree’s sake, so she can stop feeling guilty about what happened. Eden suspects he’s hoping that will mean one step nearer to him and Bree being together. Meanwhile, Tane arrives home to the Parata house, looking around at the emptiness, and goes to Nikau’s room, finding his lifeguard uniform. Cash comes in and Tane explains that Nikau has gone to New York for good. While he believes Nikau’s where he needs to be with Bella, he also notes that he got the house to bring the family together and now he’s the last man standing.

At the farm house, Dean and Ziggy reflect on how they’re going to miss Bella. Ziggy gets a text with a picture of Bella and Nikau together, revealing he’s going with her. Ziggy notes that Bella’s come a long way from when she hid in the boot of her car. Dean gets a call from Amber which leaves him shocked. Meanwhile, Theo and Kirby are getting ready for the gig. Theo worries that Ava will turn up but Kirby assures him Justin said that she’s banned. Eden and Remi arrive back. The others assume Remi’s physio gave him the okay to play. Eden says he was just told he could take his brace off and Remi admits he was told to take it slow but insists it’ll be fine.

Tane asks Cash if he’s seen Felicity. Cash thinks she’s turned a corner and had a wake-up call. He suggests that Tane come with him to Salt’s gig. Tane doesn’t think he’ll be welcome but Cash assures him he is. Meanwhile, Felicity brings Lyrik some food and Eden checks if Cash is coming. Remi asks if she’s going to tell Cash she remembers things. Theo gets a text from Ava wishing him luck. Kirby thought he blocked her but Theo says thatt’s her socials and this is her private number. Justin arrives and assures Theo that Ava’s with Leah.

Ziggy asks Dean about Amber. Dean says she’s landed a job: It’s more pay and she’s managing a team of carers but it’s in far north Queensland and she and Jai are leaving next week. Ziggy asks if Amber can do that. Dean reminds her that there’s no formal custody arrangement, just Amber’s word, and he isn’t even on the birth certificate. Ziggy thinks they should go to a lawyer but Dean says there’s no hope with his record and it didn’t go well last time he tried that. He ends up walking out, saying he has to check things at the board shop.

Justin tells Lyrik that he has to get back to Ava once he’s collected his dinner but tells them to break a leg, before telling Remi not to actually break anything. Remi is pleased when Bree turns up. Felicity is shocked when Cash turns up with Tane and tells him she’s not ready for this. Cash says it’s not about her, explaining about Nikau leaving.

Justin runs into Dean down in the surf club. Dean is disappointed to realise there’s a gig, since he was hoping for a quiet drink. He asks Justin what it’s like living a long way from your child. Justin admits it’s not easy and says he’s probably not the best person to ask advice from, since he’s learning that you have to make sure your children know you love them.

Dean goes home to Ziggy and Izzy, wryly noting no-one wanted to go surfing at night. He apologises for walking out and Ziggy admits she called Amber to let her know what she thought of her, which Dean says explains the voicemail on his phone. He says they have to accept what’s happening.

Theo announces Lyrik’s set and they start performing Someone Like You. Felicity, at the bar, keeps shooting looks over at Tane. Remi is similarly looking at Bree, while Cash is watching Eden and singing along. Remi obviously gets discomfort in his hand, at one point having to turn away and rest while Kirby and Eden shoot him worried looks.

Felicity joins Tane on the balcony. Tane says he’s only just bought his beer if she’s throwing him out. Felicity says she won’t do that to him, trying to make a joke about him bugging her only for it to fall flat. She talks about Nikau leaving and Tane says it’s good to see her back in charge of the place.

Lyrik are performing another song but Remi is clearly in more and more discomfort, eventually stopping and stepping off the stage mid-song. Eden and Kirby immediately follow him and Theo awkwardly announces a short break. Remi says he’s stuffed things up and walks out. Eden explains he was hoping to make things up with Bree. Bree follows Remi downstairs. He sarcastically remarks the gig was shorter than normal. Bree examines his hand and he admits he came back too soon. Bree says he looked amazing and happy up there and goes to get him some ice.

Theo asks what they’re going to do if Remi doesn’t come back. Felicity comes over to them and says the customers are leaving. Eden says she’ll sort it and mounts the stage on her own, saying she’s going to try something different. She starts singing her song about recovering her memories. Remi has returned with Bree and smiles, while Theo, Kirby and Felicity look rather bewildered. Cash listens to the song, clearly understanding the implication. As the song ends, everyone applauds while Cash walks away. At the farm house, Dean is looking after Izzy and shows her Jai’s drawing on the fridge door. He is unaware Ziggy is listening in as he says Jai and Izzy are going to be tight like him and Mackenzie.

Eden follows Cash out of the surf club and confirms that she remembers everything. She says she didn’t know how to say. They kiss.
