Is Bree blurring boundaries with Remi? Cash and Eden get sprung in the act. Mackenzie comes grovelling to Justin.

Extended Summary

Bree runs into Xander near the beach. He says water’s not his thing and she tells him the pregnant woman he brought in named her baby after him. She notices a hungover Remi nearby and claims his shirt’s inside out. He says he had to do something to cheer himself up when the gig was cancelled and dreamed about bacon and eggs. Bree offers to shout him. He says he’ll go home and shower first.

At the house, Cash and Eden are curled up in bed together. Eden notes that it’s morning and they’re still there. Cash kisses her and she reminds him they said they wouldn’t do this again. Cash says that was a dumb thing to say. Remi walks into the room and Eden throws a cushion at him and tells him to get out.

Mackenzie goes round to see Justin and says she wants to talk about revisiting the idea of Lyrik playing at Salt. Justin says they’ve got another venue and Mackenzie says that’s not every night. Justin suggests she puts an offer together that he can take to the band. Mackenzie realises he’s enjoying it. At the Diner, Theo chats to Kirby about finishing their song. Justin comes in and sits with them, saying Mackenzie wants the band back. Kirby asks when they start and Justin says he hasn’t said yes. Theo protests they love playing at Salt. Justin explains they’ll go back to her once the new gigs have been a success and talk money.

Eden tries to tell Remi it wasn’t what it looked like. Remi thinks she and Cash are a train crash, despite Eden pointing out he spent the night elsewhere. Remi says it’s history repeating and Eden says to knock before coming into her room in future. Cash appears and says an awkward goodbye. Eden tells Remi not to say anything. At the Diner flat, Xander gushes to Rose about having a baby named after him. Rose is a bit distracted, saying there’s something going on at work, but congratulates him.

Rose calls round to see Cash and tells him she’s been asked to give a statement to the commission about the misconduct allegation. Cash asks what she’s going to say and she replies she’ll tell the truth. Cash accuses her of throwing him under the bus. He insists he was just doing his job and Pete put Remi in hospital. Rose agrees he belongs in jail and Cash says he won’t be if she says he was too rough on him. Rose doesn’t think Cash will be fired for one incident. Cash protests he had one bad day and begs her not to take his job away from him.

On the balcony at Salt, Remi asks Mackenzie why she cancelled the gig. Mackenzie says to talk to Justin about it. She asks him about the entertainment agency in Yabbie Creek, who she has a meeting with, and Remi says he’d be daft to help her find a replacement. Bree appears and Mackenzie calls it a second date. Remi says it’s not a date. After she’s gone, Remi asks Bree if they’re going to go traditional or something fancy for breakfast. Bree notes her husband would complain about brioche bread and goat’s cheese, saying he knows what he likes and doesn’t. She says it’s been two months since she saw him.

At the Diner, Irene exchanges a few words with Xander. Nearby, Justin asks Theo and Kirby what they think of the Palace. They admit they think it’s a bit small but he thinks it’s the first step to making a living from their music. He says to tell Mackenzie they love playing there if she asks and thinks they’ll be playing bigger venues than Salt soon.

Remi comments on how well the bacon tastes. Bree guesses he was with someone last night. Remi asks how the long-distance thing works, saying it’d mean being far away from someone you care about. Bree says they make it work and it’s okay when she’s busy. She asks what he’s doing later and he says he has rehearsals. He says next time he’ll shout.

Bree and Remi say goodbye to each other downstairs. Eden overhears and knows they don’t have rehearsals. Remi says he has a date with a nurse and isn’t sure why he didn’t tell Bree that. He asks about Cash, reminding Eden she broke him last time. Eden says she’s not planning to do that this time. Remi hopes she’s not falling for him and Eden doesn’t do a convincing job of denying it.

Rose has just arrived home when Cash turns up and asks what she said. Rose says she told the truth, that she was worried about him, that it was out of character and that he hadn’t been the same since the shooting. Cash angrily says that, whatever the outcome of the investigation, mud will stick. Meanwhile, Mackenzie’s car has broken down and she asks if anything else can go wrong…getting her answer when Justin, Theo and Kirby pull up next to her. Justin and Theo step in to look at the car. Mackenzie says she’ll call roadside assistance but Justin says he’ll tow it to the garage. Kirby convinces Mackenzie to agree, through gritted teeth.

At the Diner, Xander tells a distracted Rose he fancies going to a movie tonight before asking what’s wrong. Rose says it was that work thing she mentioned. When Xander presses, she cancels food and heads upstairs. At Lyrik’s house, Eden denies having feelings for Cash to Remi. She looks him in the eye and says it’s not a problem and will probably never happen again. Remi seems to believe her, until Cash turns up moments later and he leaves them to it. Cash takes Eden’s hands and she suggests he talk. He says sometimes he feels he’s got his life sorted and other times he doesn’t know who he can trust. Eden says he can trust her. They kiss and go to the bedroom.

Rose is on the phone to the sergeant trying to get information about the investigation. Xander comes home as the call ends. Rose tells him about having to give a statement against Cash. Down on the beach, Bree sees Remi sitting further down. She goes to wave to him, then stops when Stacey joins him and the pair start frolicking. She hurriedly walks in the other direction, looking uncomfortable.
