Bernie was a local drug dealer who Freya Duric did business with. She met him outside the surf club, with Xavier acting as lookout. Although she only had $150, he agreed to give her more tablets in exchange for her paying him $500 after she’d sold them. However, the pills were taken by Ruby and ended up in the hands of the police. When Freya explained the situation to Bernie, he gave her a day to get the money or she’d be sorry. Even though Ruby gave her the money, Freya fled town and left Xavier to handle Bernie alone. Bernie was unimpressed with Xavier’s excuses and began beating him up but Ruby managed to attract the attention of Charlie and Hugo. They came to Xavier’s rescue and Bernie was arrested.
