Dan F
Please see the main site for our sad announcement of the passing of Alan Bateman, the man behind the creation of Home and Away. As Bevan has stated in the tribute, every H&A fan worldwide, old and new, owes Alan a great debt of gratitude for not only creating H&A, but saving the show from being axed only weeks into it's run. Light of the Bay
That's such a shame! He was the person who gave us a once warm and charming soap opera...
John
Í think we have to give credit where credit is due. This man created a show that has lasted and maintained interest for nigh on 25 years. I'm not sure any of the current shows being created will have that sort of quality and longevity. jodlebirger
H&A has run for 17 years in Norway, nearly 20 if you are counting those years it went on an another channel. No other tv-series has been going on for that long on a Norwegian channel. That is a great feat. So on the behalf of the Norwegian fans I would like to pay a tribute to the person who came up with the idea of H&A.
