  1. I e-mailed the Channel 5 Programming Department with regard to the possibility of resuming their airing of Home and Away: The Early Years. This is their response: Thank you for your most recent e-mail. As you may know, we have transmitted episodes of Home And Away: The Early Years on 5 STAR from time to time in the past. Unfortunately, when we last did this, these repeats did not perform as well as we had hoped and there are no current plans to transmit them again or to start repeating the programme from 2000 episode. We are sorry to disappoint you on this occasion. Thank you for your interest in Channel 5. Yours sincerely Chris VIEWER ADVISOR Please note that the contact details for Channel 5 Customer Services are as follows: Telephone: 0345 7 05 05 05 / 020 3580 3600 E-mail: [email protected]
  2. Yes. I think in the end they reached 2001 before they were swiftly taken off the air in 2008. It was in 2013 they randomly started airing the 2000 season again but then pulled out after a mere few weeks. I always enjoyed their theme weekends on 5* as they would do weddings, funerals, disasters etc.
  3. I'd be happy if Channel 5 just go back to repeating where they stopped in the 2000 season last time they aired them in 2013. It'd be nice to see the early 00's again.
  4. I like the gap and I'm hoping that this summer they show some classic episodes while current episodes are off the air. I was disappointed to see that Channel 5 didn't bother to air any older episodes this year.
  5. Hard to believe he is almost 80! I do hope we see Donald again one last time.
  6. I know! You'd think they'd find a slot on 5* to show H&A. How hard can it be?
  7. I find that hilarious. As if repeats of Cowboy Builders or whatever other trashy lifestyle show they air will do any better.
  8. What was the official reason given by Channel 5 for ceasing to air Home and Away: The Early Years in 2013?
  9. Australian soaps are so different to our UK soaps in this respect. EastEnders and Coronation Street (the only ones I watch) have always kept the same houses over the years and only ever made subtle changes to the locations such as pubs, cafe's etc.
  10. Haven't you seen any old episodes that feature Morag? She was somewhat cold but never evil. I don't like the way she treated Bobby at first but she certainly gave as good as she got! She clearly loves her family but Morag protects herself with a tough exterior which is understandable considering what she's been through.

  12. Channel 5 have blocked it already. They just want to punish fans who go to the effort of making videos for the enjoyment of others. Why then don't they upload episodes from days gone by and miscellaneous videos themselves? ETA: Found a way to watch it () and great stuff! The recap music was much more effective just a few short years ago, it's a shame it's so watered down now.
  13. I'm Sure Most On the Set Of Home And Away Would Know Of Don Fisher, Especially The Originals Like Alf, Marilyn And Irene Who Are Still On The Show, If I'm Honest I hardly Watch The new Series Now I Kind of Stopped Watching Home And Away Since 08 I Do Occasionally Out Of Curiosity Take A Peek What Is Going On In The Show But I Just Wonder Whether Some Of The New Younger Cast Members And Even New Directors Would Remember Him They Should Tbh Considering He Was Part Of The Show For 16 Years, Remember It's Been At least Almost 9 Years Since His Last Appearance In 2007.....(12 If You take In Account Him Leaving As A Full Time Character) As I Wrote It Would Be Awesome To See Him Back Even For One Show As I Doubt He Would Return For Anything Longer And It Was Sad How He Departed In 2007, They Really Dropped The Bomb On Fisher Then, Infact I Just Felt Sorry For Fisher Who I Remember As A Formal , Well Suited , Intelligent Man And Here he Was Looking Frail , bankrupted And Barely Capable Of Buying A Meal In The Diner If only He Left On A Much lighter Note Like In 2003 When he Embraced With Sally And Had That Dream Sequence Of Him in the Pilot Episode Scaring Her lol. Anyway I Read You Watch Old Episodes Of H&A Too......I Wonder If You Prefer The Old H&A Too It Was much More Fun Then And Wasn't as Dark As It Is Now You Used to Have So Much laughs With The Show , Even The First Two Theme Tunes We're classics. I think 2008 was the last great year for the show, especially the beginning. I haven't watched since late 2012, I just got so fed up of the repetitive story lines and from what I've seen it's not all that much better these days. Yeah I can't believe it's been so long since we last saw him! Norman seemed happy to dip in and out and it's a shame it's been so long since we last saw Fisher. Yes, I have seen many episodes from different eras and have a pretty good knowledge of the history of H&A. I definitely prefer the older episodes, (my favourite period is 1998-2004) they had so much more warmth and the characters were like real, everyday people that you could relate to. The absence of the theme tune is a great shame and I think we all miss it. I can't help but think H&A moving to 7TWO could really shake up the show and get it back to its roots.
  14. I don't see how people working on the show would not know who Donald Fisher is. If they don't then they really shouldn't be working on the show.
