I'm going to put you all out of your misery, and post the next chapter now. I hope you're not too dissapointed with who the mother is . But there will be a HUGE twist soon, which I'll give you a teaser for. TEASER: It involves Martha . Chapter 16 INT – HANNAH'S HOUSE – NIGHT Ollie is awake in bed and decides to get up. He heads downstairs into the kitchen. Hannah and Paul are still kissing in the living room. Ollie: …Oh, sorry, I’ll go… Hannah and Paul both laugh Hannah: No, no, don’t worry. I was just going to make a cup of tea, do you want one? Ollie: Love one, thanks. Hannah goes into the kitchen, while Ollie slumps into a chair. Paul: Can’t sleep, hey? Ollie: Not really. I just found out that my mother is alive. Paul looks at Ollie inquisitively. Ollie: Sorry, you probably don’t know what I’m talking about. Paul: Han told me earlier, actually. Must be pretty full on for you right now... Ollie: Yeah, it is. I just wish I’d known before now. I could have gotten to know her. Paul: Well, what's stopping you? Ollie:...Fear, I guess. Fear of the unknown. What would I do if she just decided to run off again and leave me on my own? Paul: Is that what she did before, then? Ollie: I was given up for adoption when I was little. I thought my mother was dead for so many years, so I just resigned myself to the fact that I would never see her again. Paul: Well, we're all here for you, Ollie...night and day. Ollie: Thank you Ollie smiles and wraps himself up in a blanket, before sipping his cup of tea, and sleepily watches as the darkness turns to light outside. INT – NDH – DAY Beth enters Tony’s hospital room Beth: Hey, gorgeous. Tony: Gorgeous? Me? I’m in a hospital bed! They both laugh. Beth leans over and kisses Tony as she sits on a chair next to him. Beth: I bought you in some magazines because I thought you might want something to read. Tony: I should be in here more often. I get waited on hand and foot. Beth: And you don’t at home I suppose? Tony: Ha ha. Very funny. They both smile. Beth: I bet you're dying to get out of here. Tony: Like you wouldn't believe. Beth:...Tony, can I ask you a question? Tony: Of course you can. Beth: When I came in last night, you were asking where Sophie was. Who's Sophie? Tony: Oh…she’s just a friend. Beth: You’ve never told me about her before. Tony: Yeah, well, we haven’t seen each other for quite a while. Beth: Why were you calling out for her, though? Tony: Beth, can you stop with all the questions? Beth: Sorry, I’m just a bit confused. Tony: Look, Sophie is just a friend. Beth nods. Tony: You don’t have to stay here with me. Beth: I’m not leaving you here on your own. And plus, it’s a little boring at home without having you there. Tony: I feel pretty tired, though, so I’m just going to try and get some rest. Beth: Right…of course. I might go, then, if you don’t want me to stay. Tony: I didn’t mean it like that. Beth: I’ll see you later. Beth walks out. Tony: Beth, where are you going? Beth walks out of the NDH and goes to her car. Matilda rushes after her. EXT – NDH – DAY Matilda: Mum, what’s going on? Beth: Nothing. Everything’s fine. Beth opens up the door and sits in the car. INT – HANNAHS HOUSE Ollie has just woken up. Hannah: Hey, sleepyhead, you alright? Ollie: Yeah. Did I sleep down here all night? Hannah: Yep, we could here you snoring from upstairs. Ollie: Snoring? I didn’t think I snored. Hannah: Don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone. They both chuckle. Hannah: Would you like some cereal? Ollie: That would be great, thank you. Susan walks downstairs into the living room but stops suddenly when she sees her son sitting in the chair... I'm busy writing the next few updates now, so I'll update tomorrow . I was just saying in the other thread for my other fic that I will be carrying on with that one. So basically what I have decided to do is carry on with both this and that one for now but stop writing this one for a liitle bit, and then get back to it eventually. It's basically so that I have time to write both of them. This fic was of an undecided length to begin with, but I will continue with it for now...and then stop for a little while...then go back to it. I hope that makes sense . Susan slowly walks over and sits on the sofa. Susan: Yes, I am Hannah:...Everything okay? Susan: Fine. I’ve got to go out, actually. I just remembered, sorry. Hannah: You be back in time for lunch? Susan: Probably. Susan shuts the front door. Hannah: Don’t take it personally. She was like that last night when I was speaking to her. Ollie: Right. INT – BETH'S CAR – DAY Matilda: Mum, I can tell something’s not right. What is it? Is Tony okay? Beth: Tony’s fine, sweet. Matilda: Well, what else is it, then? It's not like you to run out like that. Beth: Matilda, just stop, okay?! Beth starts crying Matilda: Hey, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to upset you. Beth: It wasn’t you. Matilda: Well, what is it then? Beth:...Tony. Matilda: I thought he was okay. Beth: Yeah, he is. He's doing really well. Its just...It's just that last night, when I went into see him, he kept calling out to someone called Sophie. Matilda: Who’s Sophie? Beth: Exactly. When I asked him about her he just told me that she was friend. I know he was lying. I could tell. Matilda: What, you think she’s more than a friend? Beth: I don’t know. Matilda hugs her mum INT – THE SUMMER BAY CARAVAN PARK HOUSE – DAY Sally is making breakfast Sally: Brad, breakfast is ready! Brad: Morning. Sally and Brad kiss Brad: You seem a bit more positive than you were yesterday. Sally: Yeah, I’m just trying not to think about Ollie too much. I just hope he's safe - that’s the thing that worries me. Brad: I’m sure if he was in any danger he would find a way of contacting us. Sally: You’re probably right. Brad sits down with Sally to eat breakfast INT – SUSAN'S CAR - DAY Susan is sitting in her car on her mobile phone Susan: Jonathan, I need to talk to you. Can we arrange to meet?
