SUMMER BAY HIGH - BASEMENT

Peter, Cassie and Rocco come running down the steps. Peter leans his head against the door.

PETER:

Sal?

SALLY:

Peter!

PETER:

I'm so sorry, Sal.

SALLY:

This isn't your fault.

PETER:

Are you okay?

SALLY:

Yeah.

PETER:

Sal? That didn't sound convincing.

SALLY:

We're as okay as we can be now you've found us. Seriously, Peter - we're fine.

PETER:

Just... just remember that I love you. And we'll talk tonight, okay?

SALLY:

Yeah. I love you too. Just go now, before someone realises that you know where we are.

PETER:

It won't be long now until it's over.

SALLY:

I know.

FITZY:

Pete? Tell Jack... tell him that I love him. He needs to know that before he comes.

PETER:

I'll tell him. Just hang in there, both of you. We'll be here at 6PM.

FITZY:

They ususally come around 9... waiting here for three hours is just going to tense all of us up. Come round 8 PM.

PETER:

I can't wait that long.

SALLY:

But you have to. It'll be fine, Peter. Go now.

PETER:

Right...

Peter, Rocco and Cassie leave.

HOLDEN/HUNTER HOUSE (After school)

Belle and Lucas are sitting on the couch, kissing, when Matilda comes in. She ignores them and goes to her room where she lies down on her bed, staring at the wall.

BELLE:

What's her problem?

LUCAS:

I don't know.

BELLE:

She seems weird. Like something upset her.

LUCAS:

Hey, do you really want to talk about Mattie? She has Ric to look after her. You and I have much better things to do!

Belle smiles and they kiss again.

ON THE BEACH

Martha is sitting on the beach. Rachel, who is walking on the beach, sees her and sits down next to her.

RACHEL:

Hey.

MARTHA:

Hey Rache. What are you doing here?

RACHEL:

Oh, I just came to visit. I've heard about Sal, are you okay?

MARTHA;

Yeah... Hey, Rachel... if you had the choice to do something or not... and you know you should probably do it, but you just can't... How would you figure out what's right?

RACHEL:

Can you be more specific?

MARTHA:

No. It concerns a lot of people.

RACHEL:

I would try and do what I know is right. Even if it's hard... because if it affects other people and you have to make the choice... they could blame you if things go wrong.

MARTHA:

Have you ever thought that you felt one way, only to find out that you actually don't feel that way at all?

RACHEL:

What do you mean?

MARTHA:

This thing... it made me realise... that I'm still in love with Jack. I want to be with him again.

Martha and Fitzy both love Jack... but who does his heart belong to?

Will Martha tell Jack about Tracey's phone call and by so doing put the life of the man she loves on the line?

What is bothering Matilda?

Peter has got the perfect rescue plan... but will his plan work out the way he wants it to?

PART 10

Martha and Fitzy both love Jack... but who does his heart belong to?

Will Martha tell Jack about Tracey's phone call and by so doing put the life of the man she loves on the line?

What is bothering Matilda?

Peter has got the perfect rescue plan... but will his plan work out the way he wants it to?

FLETCHER HOUSE

Alf is sitting on the couch, looking at the clock. It is 6:15Pm. There is still no sign of Martha. Alf stands up and picks up a picture of Sally with Ric and Cassie. He puts the picture down and leaves the house in a hurry.

ON THE BEACH

Martha is still sitting on the beach alone. Then she slowly stands up and walks away.

IN THE DINER.

Cassie and Rocco are sitting at a table, holding hands.

ROCCO:

I can't believe this.

CASSIE:

What?

ROCCO:

I came to Summer Bay to make a fresh start... but I didn't really think I'd get a chance. And now I have a girlfriend who is just the most amazing girl on earth.

CASSIE:

I'm not the most amazing girl on earth!

ROCCO:

You are to me. I'm crazy about you, Cas.

CASSIE:

Well good - because I'm crazy about you too.

They lean over the table and kiss.

ROCCO:

Tonight is going to be amazing. When Sal is home and everything is like it should be. I'm going to be the happiest guy in the Bay.

CASSIE:

I think Detective Baker might give you some competition on that.

ROCCO:

Yeah... I can't believe him and Sal...

CASSIE:

Yeah, it's a little weird, isn't it? But as long as Sal is happy, I'm happy.

ROCCO:

And of course it helps if you have a handsome boyfriend too, right?

CASSIE:

A little.

They laugh again. Martha enters the diner.

MARTHA:

Cassie... have you seen Peter and Jack?

CASSIE:

No why?

MARTHA:

I'm looking for them, there's something important I need to tell them. Now.

CASSIE:

Sorry, I haven't seen them today. But they'll be at the office tomorrow.

MARTHA:

No, I need to see them now. See you later.

PETER'S APARTMENT.

Peter and Jack are going over the plans. It's already 6:45.

PETER:

It's fool proof. We just have to be there before them, then we can surprize them.

JACK:

Right, so what if they go early tonight?

PETER:

They won't - they want to make sure no one sees them, remember.

JACK:

Okay... so we should go about half past seven?

PETER:

Yeah.

JACK:

Are you nervous?

PETER:

A little. About... about talking to Sal actually. After we've done the job.

JACK:

I see. I guess you'll spend the night at her house to make sure nothing happens to her again.

PETER:

laughs

No. I don't want to rush this.

JACK:

I see. So did Lara really say she loves me?

PETER:

Yes. She did.

JACK:

Smiles

I can't believe this. It's like my world is becoming perfect.

PETER:

Don't feel alone. So is mine. Sally is everything I could ever hope for in a woman - and more.

JACK:

I'm glad things are working out this well.

There is a knock on the door. Peter and Jack both go to the door to answer it.

It is Martha.

MARTHA:

I've been looking everywhere for you. I need to tell you something.

AT THE BARN.

Tracey and Johnny are there along with a few other guys. Tracey looks at her watch. It is exactly seven o'clock.

TRACEY:

Okay, they're not here. Let's go.

AT PETER'S.

PETER:

Come on, we have to go to the school. Now.

MARTHA:

What if they're still at the barn? You want to catch them, don't you?

PETER:

They're not going to be there anymore. They're already on their way to the school.

MARTHA:

How sure are you?

PETER:

These people aren't going to give us a minute grace to decide what we're going to do! Come on, Jack.

MARTHA:

I'm coming too.

PETER:

No you stay. You've done enough.

Peter leaves.

MARTHA:

I'm sorry Jack.

JACK:

I'll talk to you later.

He runs out after Peter.

Martha sits down on the couch and starts crying.

WOW!!!

I just read your whole Story and I have to say you have truelly sucked me in. I am so interested to find out what happens.

I love how you have written it in the format of scenes with dialogue, it makes or different reading from your average fic and I am really enjoying this.

I find it really cute how Peter and Sally are in love, it's such an unlikely couple on the show yet it just works in your story, mind you, you had me tricked for a while I thought Peter was in love with Leah still!!!

I love Jack and Fitzy, Jack is like a giddy school girl it is so cute.

I am angry at Martha she is so so so controlling and really it wasn't her right to decide...

Lucky they found out eventually!!!

I hope everything is ok and that Jack and Fitzy survive it would be devastating with all this build up to happy couples if one or both didn't survive...

Well this fic is truelly great so PLEASE keep up the great work and continue with this amazing piece of work.

It is truelly a pleasure reading this and I hope that you update soon...

Thanks

Sasha xx
