I just... didn't know when. DAN: I don't know what to say. LEAH: I understand that you're upset... DAN: Shocked. And scared. LEAH: So am I. But... we can't turn back now. DAN: Yeah... I guess you're right. LEAH: Look, Dan... I'm sorry for keeping this from you. And please don't be mad at Peter. He just thought that I should be the one to tell you. DAN: He's probably right. LEAH: So... you're not mad at me? DAN: This isn't your fault, Leah. I love you. They hug. SUMMER BAY POLICE STATION Peter is sitting behind his desk. Jack and Fitzy are sitting opposite them. PETER: Why didn't you tell me this earlier? FITZY: I didn't think it was important. I'm sorry, Peter. PETER: Not important? Zoe McCallister is important, constable Fitzgerald. JACK: Peter, this isn't just Fitzy's fault. We both thought it was just stupid, besides Zoe's dead. PETER: Just get out of my office before I kill both of you! Jack and Fitzy leave. Fitzy sits down with a sigh and Jack puts his arm around her shoulder. JACK: Somebody didn't sleep well last night. Don't let him get to you, Fitzy. You know it's not that bad. PETER'S OFFICE Peter is talking on the phone. PETER: John, it's Peter Baker. It's about Zoe McCallister. I want to know whether there is any chance of her being alive. Are you sure? Damn... No, it's not that, it's just a copycat I guess. Bye. He puts the phone down. His cellphone rings and he picks it up. PETER: Peter Baker... Sal, calm down. What? Yeah, I'm on my way! SUMMER BAY HIGH Sally's office. Peter is standing at Sally's desk, holding the photo of her and Flynn. PETER: Are you sure the photo was here the whole time? SALLY: Yes. PETER: So tell me again what happened. SALLY: I just came in here to work on some admin and then I noticed that the picture wasn't on my desk. I found it under the table and found it like that. With that written on the back. PETER: Was the office locked? SALLY: No. I never lock it during the day. PETER: So anyone could come in here? SALLY: Yes. But it'd be very difficult not to be seen. Unless it's a student. PETER: It's Zoe. SALLY: You said her death was confirmed... PETER: I know what I said! Her eyes widen and he strokes the side of her face. PETER: I'm sorry, Sal. I just... I'm going to assign someone to stay with you at all times. FITZY: I'll do it. PETER: Thanks, Fitzy. Sal... call me if anything happens and I'll be there as soon as I can. He kisses her cheek and leaves. HOLDEN/HUNTER HOME Mattie and Ric are lying on Mattie's bed, kissing. RIC: You sure we're alone? MATTIE: Of course, I'm not an idiot. They kiss again and Mattie pulls Ric's shirt over his head. Peter thinks Zoe is behind all this... but is it possible? Why is Sally being targeted? What did Leah and Dan talk about? Sally walks out of her classroom and bumps into Lucas. SALLY: Sorry! I don't know what's going on with me today. LUCAS: That's okay, Miss Fletcher. SALLY: Have you seen Matilda today? LUCAS: Yeah, she was here before lunch. Why? SALLY: She wasn't in my class just now. And it's not like her skipping school. LUCAS: Yeah, maybe she felt sick or something. SALLY: You're probably right. Besides, it's only the last period so no harm done. HUNTER/HOLDEN HOUSE Ric and Matilda are lying next to each other, holding on to each other tightly. FLETCHER HOME (It is much later - already dark) Sally unlocks the door. Her and Fitzy enter the house. SALLY: I'm sorry that you have to follow me around like this. FITZY: It's okay, honestly. I prefer this to sitting at the office, looking at Peter's sour face. SALLY: Bad day? FITZY: It's like he's lost all sense of reality. He really believes that Zoe is back. Beyond all proof. SALLY: Yeah I've noticed that he's a little on edge. The lights go off. SALLY: Do you think it's a power trip? FITZY: I don't know... Where are you? SALLY: (using her cellphone as a light) Here. There is a loud thump followed by gleeful laughter. Then there is complete silence. SUMMER BAY POLICE STATION. Jack is talking on his cellphone. JACK: Hey Fitzy. It's me again. Jack. I'm worried about you... so just give me a call if you can. Or want to. I really need to talk to you. I lo... I gotta go. So yeah. Call me. Bye. He puts the phone down. PETER: Still not answering? JACK: No, I've tried about a dozen times. PETER: Yeah, I know - in the last two minutes. I'll give Sal a call. JACK: Yeah... you and Sal? You seem... fond of her nowadays. PETER: She's a good friend. JACK: That it? Peter's phone starts ringing before he can answer Jack. PETER: Peter Baker. Oh, hey Leah. You told him? What did he say? That's a relief! Yeah, maybe. Okay, I have to go. You too. Bye. JACK: What was that about? PETER: Trust me, mate - you don't want to know. FLETCHER HOME. Ric, Mattie, Belle, Lucas, Rocco and Cassie all pitch up at the house. Ric opens the door and they all go in. MATILDA: I guess Sal isn't home, it's dark in here. She turns on the light. Cassie screams. They all look up. Dangling from the roof, hanging by a rope is... Sally. RIC: No. No way. Rocco walks closer and looks up. ROCCO: It's not Sal. It's a doll. Alf comes in and sums up the situation in the blink of an eye. ALF: What the flamin' hell is the meaning of this? CASSIE: I'm calling the police. RIC: I'm calling Sal. They both start dialing numbers from their cellphones. Cassie walks away and starts talking. Sally's phone starts ringing. Belle picks it up from the ground. BELLE: Her phone is here. CASSIE: Peter is on his way. Starts crying. Who would do this? It's just sick! Answered to number one) some old warehouse by a railway crossing of course, the stalker is Brad, he's upset Sallys going out with Peter How will Peter react, badly I say and Leah will recieve a visit because shes cool and in this story, yay do I get a cookie? Sally said that after the thing with her car and Flynn's photo... she didn't want Pippa to be here. Who is doing this? PETER: I don't know. ALF: Well you'd better find out, mate! Or flamin' get someone who can figure this out! PETER: I will do everything in my power to find Sally and Fitzy! And if that's not good enough for you, feel free to do this on your own! Alf glares at Peter and then stands up and walks out. Peter walks to the front door where Jack is standing. JACK: Peter, he's just worried about Sal. PETER: Yeah, well so am I. JACK: I realise that, but you've got to stay calm and focused. PETER: You don't get it, do you? If something happens to Sally I'll never be able to forgive myself! She was taken because of me! She was taken because the phsycopath we're dealing with knows that I love her! JACK: Love her? Before Peter can respond, Sally's cellphone rings. PETER: Who is it? BELLE: It's a private number. Should I answer? MATILDA: Yes! BELLE: Miss Fletcher's phone, Belle speaking. Sorry it's so short, I'm busy but I'll put the next part on later.
