beckyboo Posted March 23, 2007 Report Share Posted March 23, 2007 Chapter 18 Martha had arrived back at the hospital and Nicole was now wide awake and was feeling much better, thankfully! “Hey," Martha said as she walked in adding: "She seems better" “Yeah she is” Jack replied happily she was his little baby girl, his princess and he would fight to the end of the earth for her. A few hours later Martha was sitting in the cubical of the toilet looking at the blue line appearing in the window that was the 10th pregnancy test she had taken in the last 5 days... just to be sure. “Hey, its me.... I need to see you” she spoke down the phone “Ok where?” the person on the other end answered her “How 'bout the cliffs?” she spoke to the man “Ok 2-ish? He asked “Yeah that’s fine” she nodded. “Ok can’t wait to see you” he sighed “You seen me all ready today” She giggled down the phone “See ya” he chuckled as she hung up. Back at Nicole’s room Martha had decided not to tell Jack about the baby yet she needed time to get her around it. “I was beginning to think you’d gotten lost..” he joked but but stopped when he noticed the distant look on her face, something which seemed to be a permanent feature as of late. “Nope” she smiled. “Martha...” he started his voice soft and gentle, "Is everything okay?" “What me? Oh yeah im fine just tired. Infact what time is it?” she asked dismissing it. “1.45 why?” he asked her “Do you mind if I go home and get a shower” Martha said; it was more of a statement than a question really. “No course not you want the car keys?” he asked her. “Please babe..” she said to him At the cliffs “Hey I was beginning to think you weren’t gonna show” he told her as he kissed her softly on her forehead, clinging onto him she began to let the tears she'd been holding in, fall. “Hey whats up” he soothed brushing her hair out of her face. “I can’t do this anymore; I can’t leave him” she told him “What but you said...” he told her “I know what I said but things have changed now” she tried to explain. “Changed how?” he asked her “I'm... " "You're what?" He asked confused. "I'm pregnant" Martha whispered. "Huh?" A confused look apeared on his face. "I'm pregnant!" She shouted. “What?!” he looked shocked “Im pregnant” she said again. “Well it can’t be mine we were so careful...” he told her pacing up and down. He couldn't get his head around it! “It could be” she told him “Thats nearly impossible” was all he could say "Nothings impossible" She said in a defeated tone. “Jack will never forgive us if he finds out” she cried harder against his chest.
